Howdy all. I just ordered this leather battery door/flip case for my wife. Does anyone know anything about it? As soon as it comes, I'll post up my own amateurish attempt at a review.

After waiting for what felt like an eternity, we finally received the case! Shipping from Hong Kong takes a while. Pictures will follow when I can.
The case consists of a battery door with a faux leather backing. It isn't very plush and was much harder than I anticipated, as is the front cover. The frame of the battery door is a blue color, but does not batch Samsung's Pebble Blue. It does function well as a transition between the black leather and pebble blue phone however. The door snaps on appropriately and don't feel loose at all.
The leather material extends from the back cover around the site of the phone. It seems fairly stiff for now, but I suspect it'll soften with use. It does have a soft indentation built in to use the volume rocker built in with no issues.
The front seems to be a leather coated hard panel. It has a cutout for the earpiece that lines up perfectly, so the phone can be used for conversations with the flap shut. I'm not honestly sure how much protection it would offer, if any. That said, if you so choose to forgo the use of a screen protector, it will definitely protect your screen when not in active use.
The case adds very little bulk to the phone, and the texture of the leather gives some extra grip to prevent dropping your shiny $600 investment. Though the material wasn't particularly plush, I imagine it would offer a tiny bit of cushion in light of a fall. Overall, I like it fairly well. For the price, higher grade materials would have been nice though. All that remains is my wife's final judgment.

I was extremely paranoid about scratching my screen. However, I have the absolute worst luck when it comes to install a screen protector with NO bubbles. Im kinda OCD, and if i install a screen protector and there is even 1 single small bubble I have to throw it away and start over. After many failed attempts, I started looking for cases with screen protection built in. I ran across this case on Amazon...
http://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-PREMIUM-LEATHER-QUBITS-PACKAGING/dp/B0062VEF98/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325196994&sr=8-1
At only $8.95 I thought this was a steal. Judging by the photos it looked like it could do the job of a screen protector and case just fine. In fact, it would probably protect the screen BETTER than just a regular screen protector in case it falls.
After using the case for a day now, I can say I am extremely pleased with it, especially since its so cheap . Using the Gnex with this case actually feels more comfortable in my hands than without. Here is a run down:
PROS:
Feel more comfortable to hold.
Magnetic clip makes it easy to secure case.
Material feels great.
Really gives a sense of protection.
Phone feels really secure once placed inside.
You can use the extended battery (see images below).
Cons:
With the extended battery, the on button can be a little difficult to press
Can add a little too much bulk for some people.
Taking the phone out of the case can feel difficult. Try too hard and it will pop out so be prepared.
With extended battery, the device slightly rises above the plastic clip.

To sum it up, if you want a case that can also provide screen protection on the cheap, you should check this case out
Anybody try the Incipio feather case yet?
Review?

Thanks!
I've had mine for about a month now, maybe a little longer, and I absolutely love mine. It gives quite a bit more grip, and it doesn't add much added volume at all. It's quite durable and I like how the black blends right in (I have the black obviously). Got mine off of Amazon I believe. The front has a very small lip on it to protect the face, and it's just thick enough to protect the camera as well.

from the pictures it appears as thought the corners of the phone are completely exposed. can you confirm this? last thing I need is a big chunk out of the corner after I drop it
I examined the pictures as closely as I could and decided against this case for exactly that reason. I'm going to try a case-mate barely there case. It looks very similar but after looking at some Youtube reviews it looks like it has more protection for the corners and a bit more for the top and bottom of the phone.
Here are some pictures in pink for high contrast.

Case-Mate:
I ordered the Case-Mate in black. I will take some pics and review once it arrives.
Here's a video review I saw:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gLaPnLw7-w
Not sure if anyone is still contemplating this case, but I just picked one up since US Cellular is now carrying them for their Galaxy S2 phone (it's the same as ours).
Anyways, the case is istantly my new favorite. Very low profile design and makes the phone a lot easier to hold. The pictures from the Incipio website are very misleading about how the corners are protected. I will try and post some pics a little later...
I bought one within days of picking my phone up. Have bought a TPU and silicone case. This is by far my favorite. I have the white E4GT and the black Incipio looks bad ass on it.
Want it even lighter? Take off the battery door and then put it in your feather...
Just bought one of these in "white", through eBay UK. UK seller; arrived next working day. White is in inverted commas because it's more an off-white/pearl colour. Not unpleasant, but would clash with a white One X, I suspect. Doesn't look bad on the grey HOX, just not as clean a look as I would have hoped for.

It's a snap-on back case. Very thin little bit of foam within the case for shock absorption. Quite a rigid case; not rubberised.
The case is almost flush with the camera lens. I mean if the case protrudes any further than the lens it's by nanometres only. I think that putting a small piece of cardboard within the case, just below the lens area, would push the case out fractionally and provide slightly better protection when the case is on its back.
See how close it is:
The cut-outs are fine:
The moulding is a bit wobbly in places; it was clearly manufactured to a price!
In short, it was cheap and it will do for now. You get what you pay for.
Apologies for the quality of these photos; they were taken with an old Desire, with a lens in less-than-perfect condition.
If you want a better quality carbon fibre style case with decent camera lens protection check out my review and pics of the metal slim case here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26003150

Yeah it was actually that review of yours that put me onto the idea of a carbon fibre style case. I wanted something cheap and in a hurry though, plus I've had quite mixed results buying from HK, so I thought I'd stick with UK sellers this time round.
I just received my Waterfield Designs Slip Case for the Nexus 7. It's an incredible slip case of very high quality. I am a minimalist when it comes to cases, and so far I have been dissatisfied with the Moko Slim-Fit & Poetic Slimline cases I have received. The Moko is just too large, and it drives me nuts that it doesn't sit flat when opened. The Poetic feels cheaply made, and I don't like how difficult it is for me to remove it from the case. I also don't like the feel of the fake leather of the Poetic case.
I decided to try out a slip case, and found the Waterfield Slip Case. It's definitely more expensive than the other cases I've tried, but it is so pleasant to hold and use. The outside of the case is so soft to the touch, but extremely durable. The inside is extremely soft, and really does clean the screen when you remove it. The tablet fits very snug in it, but just snug enough so that when you hold it upside-down and shake it there is no fear that it will fall out.
Here are a few pictures I took, along with the video on their website discussing the slip case. I would highly recommend this at $27.
If you have any questions or would like some additional pictures, please let me know.

I recommend it!
I've been thinking about buying one of these. Don't mind the higher price considering they are made in San Francisco!
Would you mind measuring the thickness of the case when your nexus 7 is inside?

It's a little tricky to measure the thickness, since the case is puffy. If I squeeze it flat (Sort of like it would be in my pocket), it's just under 5/8". If I let it sit normally on my desk, it's just over 7/8".
That's exactly what I needed, thanks!
After I received my latest order from TVC-Mall, I realized that by mistake I got S4 mini case, so I figured to write a short review about it anyway since it looks so damn cool!!! The one I received is: http://www.tvc-mall.com/details/Sam...her-Stand-Case-Green-Dark-Blue-MLC-I9190-25G/
This is another example when you have very low expectations when something cost only $3.60, and once you take it out of the box it makes you scratch your head of how far they pushed the envelope this time. The case comes in a very cool transparent package, but it's not just cheap looks when you take it out of the box. This is diary/wallet style case with a magnetic latch. It comes in bi-color design with bright lime/green inside and blue denim-looking exterior with green stitching. I don't even have a phone to test it out, so I tried taking a lot of detailed pictures for you to get an up close view. The inner case is soft TPU, and looks like it has a nice wrap around fitment for a full side/corner protection and even a lip around the screen. I assume all the cutouts for power/volume/camera/flash/speaker/headphone/mic/charger ports are aligned perfectly. The flip cover has two pockets for credit cards or driver license and another large vertical pocket for bills. There is also a cutout to close the cover while talking on the phone leaving a speaker next to your ear open. And I see there is a hole on the side to attach a lanyard. Furthermore, once opened the case folds to form a kickstand, typical for such folio cases. Overall, I was very impressed with a quality and a finish, and for $3.60 - its a steal considering some TPU cases by itself cost more than that. Plus, it comes in variety of different colors. Here are the pictures of the one I got.

Thanks for the review!
One questions though... Does the molded plastic portion of the case that holds the phone in place feel cheap? Not sure if it's just the shine it has but it doesn't look like that part is well built.
