Revisit SVoice - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Heads up if you haven't used SVoice since your first few days since it sucked...
SVoice has improved significantly, and it actually can open all my installed apps now instead of just the factory one. I expect it to continue to get better.

Could be that the network/database is growing. You are right that it got better but Google Now is 10000000000000 better IMHO.

Google now provides a more intuitive experience but it doesn't have conversations with you like s voice does. I'm surprised they didn't call it Google play now

I use s voice all the time. Mainly for tasks calendar stuffs and alarms.

Do you want to have conversations with your phone?

I know that on occasion I like having conversations with my phone since my wife thinks I'm married to it.

I believe the same guy who pulled Flipboard apk said he'd pull s-voice and others off when he can. Then we'll see if it works. It probably won't though, but you never can tell.

I am really not understanding the logic behind this statement. There are already dev's committed to putting the GS3 stock ROM on the Gnex.

Just got my nexus

Was looking around for an answer but I couldn't find one via Google search. But I just got a notification that said I should update to jelly bean. Is it wise to update like that? Sometimes AT&T tires to trap you and I don't wanna take the bait.

Yakju /Takju GSM gNex updates come direct from Google, no AT&T involvement. I'd update.

Gotta remember that on the GSM Nexus you can get the OTA just fine without a SIM even in the phone. The carrier isn't involved.

[Q] T-Mobile JB port to At&t

A couple of people at my office have a ported version of JB from a t-mobile phone to their Samsung Galaxy S3 At&t. They can't remember where they got it. Any idea where they might have got it from?
They said it runs smooth....
Thanks in advance

My honest opinion we should skip 4. x anything... and demand 5.0.. And android 4.2 on my nexus 7 was not a nice thing...
Stick with what works.. not whats cutting edge..

I agree with sticking with what works but a lot of the people around here that can't do dev work truly believe that the newest is always the best, and that's not always the case. Android 5.0 may be just around the corner, who really knows considering 4.3 was just released for the Nexus line and in development for the S3, S4 and Note 3 (and possibly the Note 2).
ICS was a big step up from GB, and JB over ICS. History has proven the the next big version is not just better but A LOT better. But I have to ask, what could or would you possibly change to make Android that much better to warrant a major change over Jelly Bean?

Basically the stuff ive read from random sources online, its gonna be more aesthetic stuff but will also cut down on cpu usage. Making it more streamlined and less power hungry, meaning the newer smart phones will run smooth as silk and battery drain will be minimal. Obviously some features will be added, but i didnt read of anything revolutionary. Hopefully theyre keeping that aspect under a tight seal. I feel like theyre going to increase interaction with multiple devices now. Integration of all peripheral devices seems like the next "big thing".

Well, this would mean that Key Lime is never going to be a thing. Next up would be a dessert/treat that starts with an "L"
Key Lime Pie was actually KitKat which isn't 5.0, but 4.4
Ultimately I don't think it really affects us at all, rumors were just off slightly.

Laffy Taffy would be awesome because they could partner with the candy and then have D4L promote it.

I bet a lot of devs are understandably crying themselves to sleep right now. I know a release date is probably a long ways off but most roms haven't even caught up to 4.3 yet and without a doubt this merge is going to be a lot more substantial (stressful) than the last. :/

Yeah, I feel like it's somewhat of a sell-out as well. Google seems to be going in an unpleasant (and a bit Apple-ish at times) direction with Android, and it's kind of worrying me. Things such as doing away with the tablet UI, dumbing down the Map app, and the Gmail app forcing one to use the various categories, etc. etc. etc., all present confusing and unpleasant writing on the wall for the future of Android.
