Are there any apps available that can manage what the softkeys do? I really miss the search button on my Op V. It's not a huge thing, but I'd anyone knows a way that would be great.
Thanks.

Does anyone have a modified Rosie for SR4 that switches Phone & Apps while still allowing us to remap the right button? When I flashed the one from Berserker for SR3.5 it works fine but I loose the ability to remap the right button.

I'm actually looking for the same thing. I hope somebody sees this thread and helps us out with this.
I remember asking IHTFP and ACD about this very thing when 4.0 released and the answer I got was no. I liked having my app drawer in the middle too, but it has something to do with the right button mapping. Since using 4.0 I'd much rather have the right button for my camera rather than the app drawer switch.
Just got the SGIII and my GNex is now my 16 month old daughters learning device. We installed a whole bunch of baby stuff but the problem is she keeps hitting the home button and exiting the app.
The phone is rooted and I am running the Nova launcher so I could remove all the navbar buttons... But then I won't be able to exit some apps if there isn't a built in exit option...
My idea was to add a HOME button to the power button menu. That way I would have a way to exit but my daughter shouldn't be able to figure it out so easily. Does anyone know if this is possible?
I'm running Codename Android ROM but I'd change if there was one that would work better.
Also, does anyone know how to disable the google search option when you drag your finger up from the bottom... I can't stand it, I always seem to do it by mistake myself.
Thanks,
Jim
i dont think this is possible..
Ok I figured as much. Any other ideas how I could hide home button but still have access to it via some other means?

This sounds exactly what you're after. It lets you remove/restore the navbar from the power menu, preventing unwanted exits.
So has anyone been able to enable the Nav bar?
I tired searching and it seems like it would just be a buildprop edit. Since I dont trust the recovery currently(heard too many bricks). I wanted to know if anyone had done this yet.
Now once enabled, is there a way to edit the buttons, such as color size of height, or add other buttons/rearrange.
Once thats done, is there a way to disable the capacitive buttons.
My device is Jovi's stock rooted odexed rom. I have twrp and running xposed with some modules.
Thanks
EDIT:
So i just tried adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to build prop but SystemUI keeps crashing with no stats bar.
I tried a soft nav bar root app from the playstore and got the same thing
Gravity Box yields same results
Anyone have any suggestions?
so anyone get this to work?

I haven't.
Are you talking about soft keys at the bottom of the screen for home/back/search/etc? If so I would love to see a solution. It sucks not having a search button. Ideally I'd have the bar on the bottom and turn the physical home key into a camera button.
Not the solution you want but. ultimate dynamic navbar... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270198

I have searched everywhere that I can and can't seem to find the solution I'm looking for.
Basically what I want to do is remap the home button. Normally, when double-pressed S-Voice will launch, and when long-pressed the recent apps panel will open. What I want to do is switch those (and use Google Now instead). So what I mean is that I want double-pressing the home button to bring up the recent apps panel and I want long-pressing the home button to bring up the search app Google Now).
I found that the Wanam Xposed module allows me to remap the long-press action to launch Google Now, which gets me halfway there. But I still need something that will open the recent apps panel when I double-press the home button.
I have tried the Home2 app in the Play Store, but I don't like the way it works. I was hoping for something that is more built-in and integrated, if you know what I mean.
Thank you for your help!
I'm using Samsung devices since about 2 years and since that time I'm looking for something that can do this. Haven't found anything so far, do I would love to see a solution for this!
In the meantime gestures do a fine job though. I rarely ever use my home button.
BUMP
Anyone know of a solution?
Hi guys,
so i've received my OP3, so far so good. As i'm coming from the OP1 and/or OPX i've skipped the OP2 complety and i am wondering if there is really no "open menu" option in the buttons settings when you are using the hardware buttons?!
In the OP1 there was the option for long press or short press, as we have it roght now as well, but there is the "open menu" option missing.
For those who don't know what i mean, i have attached a screenshot. But as it seems that this option is really missing, this is somehow a problem for me as i do not like to use the 3dot menu that some apps have included.
Is there any xposed module or something which brings this menu back? Tried gravitybox allready, doesn't work. Using the latest Oxygen which is version 3.1.2
Thanks for the help in advance!
This really annoys me as well! I found the All in one Gestures app, which helps to change the button, however it doesn't work everywhere... can anyone suggest a better solution?

no i haven't, that's why i am asking you guys but i am pretty sure this is a software "issue". i think if you flash a custom rom that "open menu" option could pop out in the settings
