Just a GUI version of the official thing.

It's the official way. It's just simplified.
Flashtool can do the same thing.

Can you do one app to unlock not alowed bootloaders?
My xperia U is bootloader locked why sony phone its so dificult to unlock?

I tested it on xperia U, working for unlocking bootloader, but when I failed ti flash KA ROM, it said the file is to big.
nice work dude, I think you should make a verification if the driver is already installed or not,
because firstly I forgot to install the driver, and this app just was not responding..

I have tried two times but it is not working. I have typed IMEI and got unlocking code but when I click on Unlock BL nothing happens.
Light is blue for fastboot, I am on Xperia S - official ICS, not rooted.
Bootloader unlock allowed - YES
Program freezes and I need to reboot virtualbox to remove it from the desktop. I am using it over virtualbox on XP and I am running Ubuntu 12.04

Please install driver as i said if not work turnoff your phone and your computer after that turn on phone and plugin in windows to install driver !

Thank you, works for SXP. Lock and unlock the boot loader. I also flash the kernel * img previously saved CWM Recovery v 5.5.0.4.

I have tried on Win 7 and it works flawless on my SXS. For some reason it could not work over virtual box on two linux machines.
Bootloader unlocked in 10 sec on win 7.
Thanks a lot, earlier I had HTC Sensation and Motorola Atrix and unlocking bootloader on those phones was very difficult. This was just to easy :victory:

if i use this method to unlock my Xperia S, do i lose my DRM keys? or the 2012 dont have DRM keys?

Sony will know that you unlocked your phone because you give them IMEI, and for DRM keys i think that you will lose them if our phone have DRM keys.

As far as I remember, Unlocking will wipe the data ...
Is that still right with this tool?

if you unlock with this method, you lose the warranty?

I'm not sure if it was ever true. I unlocked my phone when I had GB and didn't lose data. Lately I wanted to see what version is my phone originally supposed to get so I relocked and unlocked again in ICS. Again, no loss of data.
But back up anyway, you're supposed to always take care of that...
And yes, you lose your warranty. How do you think you get the unlock code? From Sony site... this tool has a script that accesses Sony's site with your IMEI...

Xperia ion Bootloader Unlocking & Relocking

Taken from [Tutorial] Xperia S/P/U/Sola Bootloader Unlocking & Relocking and modified slightly for the ion. I take no credit for this tutorial.
Quick tutorial for unlocking & relocking the bootloader of the Xperia ion.
This is the official way to unlock bootloader
Warning!
This procedure will wipe the /data partition of your phone, so you will loose all ur stored data, settings. SDCARD will NOT BE WIPED!!!
DRM keys WILL be lost forever
Why should I unlock the bootloader?
You can flash custom ROMs/Kernels.
You don't need to worry if the new firmware can be rooted or not as with unlocked bootloader you can always ROOT your device.
SE/Sony gives sneak-peaks/preview builds of latest OS which requires unlocked bootloaders, as they did with Xperia 2011 line (they had ICS alpha/beta), so who knows may be SE/Sony may give early builds of ICS (JellyBean???)
Most of this is taken from lollylost100's his tutorial from ARC thread (all credits for that concise tutorial go to him, i have elaborated on a few things and added device specific changes)
[ Before we begin unlocking bootloader ]
Get the IMEI code for your device: type *#06# in phone dialer to find it out, note only the digits (no dashes)
Download the fastboot package with usb drivers (alternate drivers if the ones in package dont work)
Make sure u have a windows PC with USB cable to connect the phone
Power down your phone and keeping the Volume Up button pressed connect the USB cable to PC this will trigger FASTBOOT mode and windows will start driver installation, extract the above package and point the driver install to that location (usb_driver) folder
Once drivers are installed just disconnect cable and power on device
[ how to unlock ] (official way)
Go to: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/ and read everything!
At the bottom click 'Start Unlocking the Bootloader'
First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the phone dial pad and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
Click to collapse
After you have verified that you can unlock bootloader, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Continue"
You will get "Are you sure prompt" accept it by clicking "yes i am sure" (i assume that you have read an understood it)
Then accept the "legal terms"
Finally you will get a "Create Unlock request" page, enter your IMEI (sometimes the last digit needs to be removed for this to work), name and email address
You should now receive your unique unlock key, its displayed on screen, SAVE THIS KEY SAFELY
Extract fastboot_with_Android_USB_file.rar and open fastboot folder
Hold SHIFT and right click on the background of the folder
Select 'Open command window here'
Connect your phone in fastboot mode (turn phone off, hold Volume UP button and plug in USB Cable) [make sure drivers are installed as explained above)
In the cmd windows type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version
If a value is returned (it will return 0.5), it means the phone is correctly connected
Type in fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY and replace KEY with the key which you received earlier.
Your device should now be bootloader unlocked
If this tutorial is too much for you then itskapil wrote a step-by-step guide (and recorded a video also):
-Instructions: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to...-play-neo-pro/
-Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRH3pC7MhEA
(the above videos and some steps are for Xperia 2011 devices, but most the steps are same for Xperia ion)
Info on Relocking bootloader is in next post
Relocking bootloader
RELOCKING BOOTLOADER WILL ALLOW YOU TO GET NEWEST UPDATES & REPAIR DEVICE USING SEUS/PCC
Before we begin relocking the bootloader make sure that u have flashtool download & installed
You can get the latest version of FlashTool from:
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
Download link is under "Installation" tab
If you have not use FlashTool before read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526866
Download this FTF:
Xperia ion -> LT28-ION_Relock_bootloader_Dogsly-TEST.ftf // Mirror 1
Flash this FTF via FlashTool:
When it says enter flashmode, power down device and keeping VOLUME DOWN button pressed connect usb cable to phone, the device will now enter flashmode (green LED)
After this file is flashed reboot phone
Bootloader will now be relocked!!!
Incase device doesn't boot DO NOT PANIC... You can flash stock firmware FTF anytime to get back to stock ROM
P.S.: there is no official way to relock bootloader
So because my phone says I can't unlock the bootloader, does that mean I can never unlock the bootloader? Or do I have to wait to be able to root it first?
PS: I got my ion from Best Buy so is that why? Will I ever be able to unlock the BL ? I've rooted and unlocked my x10, back in the old days lol but I'm just wondering if there's any difference with getting a phone from at&t directly or from the sony store and best buy.

Have to wait to see if another way to unlock the bootloader is discovered. Root and unlocking the bootloader are two different things that accomplish or allow different things you can do on the phone.
IE rooting allows you to uninstall system apps & bloatware, backup apps/data, make changes to build.prop etc. Unlocking the bootloader will give you access to fastboot so you can flash custom roms/kernels and other images such as a pre-rooted system image to gain root.
I wonder. If we can not unlock the bootloader for some LT28at, why is there a key to unlock it? I did the Sony bootloader unlock for fun and apparently they have a key for my LT28at even though it says bootloader unlock is not allowed.

Possible fix?
If the LT28i can be unlocked, what if we flash the international firmware on our LT28at's and then do the LT28i method? Maybe a stupid question but this is the first phone I've had that's a challenge to do stuff like unlocking and rooting. My last phone (HTC Aria) was extremely easy.

Kinda figured that
I tried to relock the bootloader. The flash pass but the phone can't turn on after that.
*I reflash the stock kernel again and the phone can power on now.
So here is the result, once you relock bootloader, you need to flash back the stock kernel in other to turn on the phone. Hopefully this will help those people who got stuck after relock bootloader.
Hello guys
I was just wondering, if bootloader unlock or flashing cutom kernel will allow to use sim cards from other mobile operators (European for ex.) ?
I have an ability to buy this device in us through my friend. but Im interested if I would be able to use it in Europe I was thinking of buying xperia p or s, but they dont have microsd card support.
Im not interested in using LTE networks. Just common 2g.
I planning to use it like a second android device as a multimedia player instead of my galaxy s wifi5.0. (because of good sound quality and other features).
Thanx a lot for responses

[Q] Help me unlock the bootloader of Xperia m dual!

I'm using Xperia m dual c2004.I tried to unlock the bootloader. Several times using the procedure given in the Sony developer, did everything correctly. But the phone goes into a bootloop after which the only option is flashing the stock rom.
I tried unlocking the bootloader the otherway by using flash tool but it doesn't have my phone's drivers. And the link to download them doesn't work anymore (found it in a thread)
The are no roms for lb for my device (plz tell me if you know any)
I checked my bootloader status by going into *#*#bla bla code then service tests and security And the service Status was active which means bootloader is locked.
When I go to service menu and config my phone's rooting status is showing bootloader unlocked.buti don't think it is ul but it just has the Permissions.
Please help me I'm not able to flash roms because of this.

If you check with Flashtool>BLU(Beside the Lightning), your device still unlocked but SONY DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO ENTER THE FASTBOOT WITHOUT NETWORK OR SIGNAL which is what you mentioned: I get "Emergency Calls Only" or "No service."

Also with this firmware Baseband version is Unknows, so modem driver didn't match for the LT26W hardware.

This Solution tried but failed.
The network or signal issue most probably caused by the Baseband, I assume.
Did somebody achieve positive result?
Re
If everyone here in this post flashed their phones with Flashtool 0.9.19.x version, then congrats my friends, we're all become owners of bricked phones with no network signal. Flashtool 0.9.19.x versions have sript error which replaces original Ta partition leading to unlocked bootloader to become locked and loss of network signal. If you're guys haven't backuped your Ta partition prior to bootloader unlocking then that's all.

I also asked questions about 07DA in other relative forums and was replied like every phone's TA partitions and data in it is unique and replacing that with a one from another Xperia S phone can completely brick our mobiles.

I made several tries with manually composed 07DA value. Without any results. Also phone was broken by foreign value, so we can try ti compose. Only if there is unique phone key which impact on modem activation ....

Flashing with latest flashtool flashes a partition which renders modem of the phone useless. Yes, I mean the TA partition. Each phone's TA partition is unique, so if You flash mine or other person's TA partition, Your phone would not even boot.

So far there has been no solution, but keep an eye, because this issue has affected many people, and a solution will pop up soon.

Moto G7 Power Root with Magisk NOT TWRP

My intent is to prevent crying and gnashing-of-teeth
Thanks to my retailer's very forgiving return policy I am up and happily running fully ROOTed (But after bricking two phones)
1. Get a copy of the Factory ROM (others have posted online - so hard work done.)
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ocean/official/CC/
I used XT1955-5_OCEAN_CCAWS_9.0_PPO29.114-30_cid50_subsidy-CCAWS_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
You can check which your phone is using Settings->System->About then Build Number at the bottom
2. Open the zip and copy the boot.img to the phone
3. Install "Magisk Manager" from Play Store
4. Use Magisk Mangers to create a "magisk_patched.img" from the boot.img and move the magisk_patched.img to your adb fastboot folder on the PC
5. Use fastboot to flash the magisk_patched.img
fastboot flash boot_a magisk_patched.img
the _a is important
If phone acts weird after, used bootloader to factory restore and believe it or not the magisk_patched stays flashed
See Restore Below
Install adb fastboot see
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/windows-adb-fastboot-installer-sdk-t3516898
UNLOCK the Bootloader
(Motorola Mobility helps you with this but VOIDS the Factory Warranty)
1. Boot into bootloader –
(i). turn phone off,
(ii). hold volume-down and power together boots to bootloader
2. Plug phone into computer via USB-C
3. Open command prompt window
(i). In “type here to search” just type cmd
(ii). Right-Click Command Prompt in pop-up and select “Run as Administrator”
4. Test Fastboot
(i). Type “fastboot devices” (plural) in Command Prompt Window
(ii). It will return you phone’s ID. If it doesn’t return your device ID - your adb fastboot installation need attention, probably drivers
5. Now type the fastboot instruction
(i). fastboot oem get_unlock_data
6. The Phone will return 4 values
7. Combine all 4 values into a SINGLE string and go to
https://support.motorola.com/us/en/bootloader
HINT: After signing up and logging in click on SKIP this for now
these unlock bootloader instructions with more detail are on this site
8. Input the SINGLE string on the website (input box found below the instructions) it will email you your UNIQUE UNLOCK CODE
You have to click Send Code and OK on the Warranty pop-up box TWICE
9. Unlock using the fastboot command
fastboot oem unlock UNIQUEUNLOCKCODE
fastboot to flash
1. Boot into bootloader – see steps #1 thru #4 above
(i). fastboot devices
2. Now type your fastboot instruction
fastboot flash boot_a magisk_patched.img
Restore
If selecting Recovery Mode from within Bootloader (volume keys to move between, power button to select) returns
No Command
You have to press and hold the power button. Now press and release the volume up button but continue to hold power button
After this, you can see a list with option of Wipe data/ factory reset

Attached is a boot logo for unlocked bootloader's that will hide the code that is displayed after installing a magisk patched bootloader.
Unzip and install via fastboot:
Nothing fancy, but gives bootups a cleaner look.

Does your device have a switch in developer options that says something about unlock bootloader? Can that switch be moved or is it greyed out?
Most Verizon devices have encrypted bootloader's and cannot have their bootloader's unlocked because Verizon encrypts them and has for quite some time now.

Okay, but do you know if it matters if I have the model number XT1955-6? This thread tutorial says it works for all models and variants but it only has download links for XT1955-5, does the model number really matter?

As i stated the first step is get the unlock code. Then you can unlock the bootloader. Which means you can root it. Since it says all i assume it will work either way you can post in that thread. First i suggest you search it for your model or carrier.

If the switch doesn't allow you to move slider then it is probably encrypted by Verizon like all Verizon devices, well about 99% of their devices are nowadays. If the bootloader is indeed encrypted then there's nothing that can be done as far as I know because Verizon holds the keys to it and I've never read anything that said they have given that info up to anyone for anything. I may be wrong about this but greyed out "allow bootloader to be unlocked" is a red flag that to me mean it's encrypted and being a Verizon sold model device they're the ones who encrypted it.. Id do more research on it and if it is what I believe it may be maybe ask Verizon if they'll allow you to activate an unlocked Moto g7 power and if they say yes get an unlocked model and see about hooking it up through them but idk their policy about that they're pretty strict from what I've heard.. Worth a shot though. But if you do decide to go that route make sure lte bands and all match up to what Verizon uses , you know ... I search a bit later today and see if I can locate any more info on this model... If I do I'll send you a message with links.
Edit added:
***Just reread your replies ..
If you switched it to allow bootloader unlocking then I'd proceed with unlocking it and see what happens. I thought you meant it didn't allow to move the switch. If I was in your shoes I'd proceed with the unlocking bootloader. It will either work or it won't. Just remember it does delete all your data ..
I too have the 1955-6 My OEM unlock toggle works, I can enable it but Motorolas thing said it couldn't be unlocked. I stayed on the phone with Verizon for over an hour getting moved up to different people and thought I was getting somewhere until they said they said it was on Motorolas end..lol

U need to get that conversation recorded or if done in chat a copy of the chat and precedent it to the Moto techs on the bootloader stuff
Well I also stayed on the phone with Motorola for an hour and explained everything. They said that phone cant be unlocked and they dont have the power to create me a code because Verizon having them come locked. They kinda each blamed each other. I should have 3 wayed them I guess lol

You'll want to go here:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ocean/official/VZW/
Then check your phone's Build Number to verify that you download the correct file. Mine was this one:
XT1955-6_OCEAN_VZW_9.0_PDOS29.114-134-12_cid2_subsidy-VZW_RSU_QCOM_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
I hope this helps.

How will that help us to unlock the bootloader or obtain root? I was wondering if it was possible to flash the XT-1955-5 firmware and it allow the bootloader to be unlocked. Im sure it wouldn't work though.

Thats the thing. What program would I use to flash it? I just feel like something is bound to go wrong lol. So if I were to flash the 1955-5 firmware, its going to give me a new code to use on Motorola's website? My OEM unlock switch does toggle on and off, which I assume doesnt mean much of anything lol

Most Verizon phones can't be rooted . This software the rsd light might b able to root the Verizon phone try at ur own risk
I followed Op's steps and it worked, rooted.
I read somewhere that for A/B partition, we may need this additional step:
fastboot flash boot_b magisk_patched.img
Question is, do we really need _b flashed also? Thanks,
