Samsung Galaxy S2 T989 Wallpaper Thread.​I didnt see a thread for Wallpapers or Wallpaper requests. so here goes.
Feel free to reply with any requests and i mean anything and i can usually have it done within the day. Below I will posts ones i have done and ones you have requested.
Request Guidelines

I appreciate your offer and realize that you probably get requests more for creating wallpapers, but I was hoping you could help me with a "resizing wallpaper" problem. This is the original image that I want to make into a properly sized wallpaper for a stock T989;
However, I can't get it sized so that the center desktop, (desktop 4), has the entire image of the band name centered correctly. No matter what I tried, the B and the I are always cut off, and the partial letters appear on desktops 3 and 5. Is there a way to size this correctly without losing either too much of the image, or messing up the aspect ratio so that the band name is centered cleanly on desktop 4? (It almost seems like the answer would be to extend the image right and left a bit.. I don't know..)

This is doable, are you using the stock Touchwiz launcher?
Also the Gears of War 3 Wallpaper is almost done. Turns out live wallpapers are not as hard to make as i thought.

Yep. It's a completely stock T989, so stock Touchwiz launcher.

It looks good on the phone, you may have to when setting it move it around but it does fit.

There is a couple ways you can use Eclipse and the Android ADT Dev plugins and SDK or there is a little tool that makes life alot easier.

I don't know if you've seen the boot animation from the Juggernaut rom, but it shows the Galaxy "S" logo pulsating colors, that would make a sweet wallpaper.

Sort of. It has more colors, and the pulse effect was a little different. If I knee how to work with the format I would just post the boot animation, but I don't even recognized the extension.

Sense 4 dock on apex launcher (it`s here)

Ok guys i had this for a minute sorry for just posting,nova,apex and the regular stock launcher have the ability to have a dock its just blank, in the launchers they call it the shadows now,so if you go into setting and untick hide shadows you will get my sense 4 dock,basically i change the hotseat background to the sense 4 dock,so now no need to paste docks on wallpapers.you can also add your own dock. Dont forget to go into the launcher settings and make sure to untick hide shadows,also hide the page indicator ,hide the dock divider,if you dont want to see the sense dock tick hide shadows.
Exuse the way i type not that good at it enjoy and hit the thanksall thanks to the devs of apex launcher

Thanks to your thread, I found out about the Shadows tip.
I'm using the Sense 4 Theme... and the dock showed up after an update... except I hate the dock. I like my icons floating there.
I almost switched themes because of it. Thanks for your hard work btw. I still appriciate everything even if I don't use this or that. Android is all about choice and it looks good regardless.
I think Apex is going to implement some features that let you customize the shadows/dock background. I'd like the keep the top and bottom shadows, which are gone using the option above to get rid of the dock background. It would be nice to mix and match the docks and shadows in the future.

No word on the beats setup yet?

I love this launcher, great replacement for the miui launcher right now.

Which launcher you use

I use Nova launcher and sometimes stock.

Sslauncher. Very different and allows you to setup the way you want. Everything can be edited / resized / moved.
Takes a while to get a hang of it but once you do it's hard and even cumbersome to use anything else.
There is no app draw. It's instead just a vertical scrolling page which I love. You can also add / remove pages as you like and all pages can scroll vertically as well, simply by pushing Widgets below the screen viewing area. I've added a Music page which does that.

Apex launcher pro

Nova
I am using Nova launcher, because I think its smoother than others, but you can try Trebuchet on some cyangonen mod that one is good as well as nova

I luv nova a lot.... i feel its little smoother than the Apex... I would love S3 stock desktop transition effect which is missing in both... (( still there is improvement for development on both the launchers... we all should encourage the developers )

I have Nova lite because I think that is 4 $ too much for launchers. What do yo think?

Are you kidding $4 for a launcher that took them ages to make and continue to support all the time. I would happily pay that. You'd probably spend that on lunch and not think twice. I use holo launcher.

using apex pro because of the 1x1 widgets in dock

I use Nova Launcher Prime. It's very good! I've set up a bunch of gestures so that opening Google Now is a piece of cake. :good:
The only downside I can really see is that I can't rearrange apps in my drawer. I can put them in folders and hide them, but everything's locked into alphabetical order.

you can change the order of your apps in the drawer by creating tabs - it's one of the great features of Nova Prime version vs. the light one

Rings Digital Weather Clock

Love the three ring design of the app, but weather location won't update. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Not sure about that, but you could try One More Clock Widget. It has one theme with a very similar look to Rings Digital Weather Clock, and it is updating weather just fine for me. I actually think it looks nicer too.

Ditto. One More Clock is the one I use, and it DOES look nicer, I compared them side by side. And it's free!

One More Clock is sweeeet. Just wondering if the paid app will let me add the rings to my email & msg apps. I have an active wallpaper behind OMC, and it really looks good with the rotating Death Star. Many thanks for your advise.

I've got it up and running. OMC uses NOAA weather, which only allows you to update every hour, but i've noticed that if i set my other weather apps, Accuweather or TWC, to 15 minutes, it also seems to update OMC. Is this possible, that one or both could override the NOAA setting in OMC? Just curious. Thanks, in advance, for your replies.

Dont Think so since i think NOAA Pushes UPDATE every hour is not the app that refreshes every our its NOAA

There are UCCW widgets on the play store, including this one which is free.

If you download a skin from the market, all you do is add the UCCW widget to your screen and the skin will show up in a list for you to pick.

1. Download the skin from the play store. (called motobean clock)
2. Add a widget to your home screen (I use nova)
3. Choose UCCW and pick one (I use 5x1 or 5x2)
4. Pick the skin (motobean clock)
5. Touch the widget to load it.
6. ????
7. Profit.

Got it up and running. Not as customizable as One More Clock.
1. Need Fahrenheit
2. Need 24hr clock
3. Need date set up like this...28 Dec, not Dec 28.

Animated weather app similar to Circles Widget weather

When clicking on the temperature/weather circle on the stock circles widget it brings up a beautiful full screen weather report. I was wondering if this is accessible when not using the circles widget. I know it says it's powered by accuweather, but when I downloaded the standalone accuweather app, it didn't look nearly half as good. I love the look of the weather and how the forecast is presented and just wanna know if it's possible to access that when not using the circles widget, or is that just built into the app? I would like to be able to access it through another widget I use that allows you to open weather (and other features) with the app of your choosing.
If this is not possible, part 2 of the question: is there a similar animated weather app that has the same sort of style to it available on the app store? I've looked around but none seem to have the same style to them.

Re: Circles widget weather?
For anybody else that may be interested, I found an app somewhat similar to the circles weather app that gives the temperature, forecast, and a few other details with a clean interface and animated background. It's called Be Weather Pro. It cost $1.99 but I like it. The animation is a bit fast for my taste and it doesn't appear that you can change the speed, but it looks pretty sweet of you were looking for a nice looking weather app somewhat similar to the Circles Widget Weather screen.

+1 for Be Weather Pro. I've been using it since its beta. I also like the screen that comes up when tapping the Circles widget weather, but the widget itself seems redundant to me. I already have a clock and a battery meter in the status bar and see no need to repeat them on my home screen.

Another +1 for BeWeather. I used to use their excellent Blackberry weather app and was happy to buy their Android app when I moved over a few years ago. NIce app, clean interface and very configurable. Glad you found something that works well for you!

This thread is awesome, I just downloaded Apex Launcher & BeWeather great apps, I had been using Go EX Launcher and Beautiful Widgets.. Digging these new apps!!

Nice! I'm still loving both! Apex has all the features I wanted and is really snappy on the M. And yeah Be Weather is really really nice. Glad you tried it!

Quick Question though I hate to admit it but my vision isn't what it used to be is there a way to turn off the IMAGE VERIFICATION I tried using the Speaker but man that's worse then trying to view the letters? HELP!

Ah I should have been more clear the Image Verification issue is here on the forum, unless I am missing something? I am on my Home PC and everytime I want to post a reply I have to verify the image..
