Hi,
I was wondering if there is a option on the Nokia Lumia 900 to switch on / off manually the a2dp bluetooth profile ?
I have recently bought the Bose Bluetooth Series 2 Headset, this headset supports a2dp. Music plays well and call quality is good too. However, since the both the Lumia 900 and Bose headset pairs automatically under a2dp bluetooth profile, all sound is routed to the headset, this includes Ring tones, SMS tones and appointment notifications i.e any sound that is produced by the Lumia 900 won't be play on the Lumia 900 speaker. If I am not wearing the Bose Headset, I will miss all calls and SMS notifications.
If there is an on / off option under Lumia 900, then I can disable the a2dp for normal call usage and enable the a2dp if I want to listen to music on the Bose Bluetooth headset. Unfortuantely, the Bose bluetooth headset doesn't have an option to disable a2dp profile connection.
Thanks in advance for any help !

I highly doubt this exists. Are other phones capable of doing so?
Not without the ability to make changes to the registry... I'm not understanding something about your situation though, why would you have it paired to the headset if you're not wearing the headset?
Is it that it's just a nuisance to have your music interrupted by the functioning sounds from the phone? Like SMS or Ringtone during a song? I'm trying to remember if the phone pauses the music when a call comes through on a device that does not have A2DP enabled but I'm kind of drawing a blank... I'm leaning toward that the music does pause, but this could have been before the latest update so it might behave differently now... Hmm, I'll test this out on my HD7 later & report what I get..

Hi all,
There was problems with the BT Stereo headsets for 02 ATOM with the previous ROM. I would like to poll everyone's opinion if the latest ROM updates have resolved the problems, and which headset is now working beautifully with ATOM.
Please advise, thanks!!!!
itech BT stereo headset works good with my Atom
BT headset Logitech 0228A works fine
BT headset Logitech 0228A works fine
Voice Dialing Not Working
My Plantronics 640 headset works well, but my Voice Dialer thru the BT headset doesn't work with the 0402606 ROM--though it did with the original 0102306 ROM.
Any resolutions?
anyone try with Samsung SBH100? It is a A2DP spec stereo headset. BT 1.2.
Using Motorola HS850 easy connection no problem. But can't get the voice dialing to work.
Jabra BT620s w/ latest firmware
* A2DP - ok but random hiccups. Perfect quality with Pc
* Vol - Too soft on Atom, had to preamp. Perfect quality with Pc
* AVRCP - Perfect but only in WM10
* Phone - Sometime fail to answer a call by headset when music still playing, must manual
We wish the next firmware would improvise the A2DP, great feature but buggy...
bro, how much u paid for the jabra bt620s in SG?
Third headset and no success
I need a small headset, what I can use for Skype on my Atom and to listen to mp3. How's the Plantronic 640 working? Does it support the A2DP profile? I don't wanna have one of these big Stereo BT Headsets... I also tried the btaudio program, what works perfectly for the sound, but the mic quality is too poor, nobody understands me by using skype...
Please give me your recommendations which one works 100% and supports all the features...
Thanks
Ellork
Motorola HT 820 works great with Atom Exec. Audio is loud and clear with lots of bass, and WMP 10 pauses on incoming call (press left button to answer) and resumes after hangup (press left button again). Good thing is you only hear beeps for incoming call not a 110db ringtone...You can use your Atom charger to charge the headset too.
???
hi guys, "BT headset" + Atom will get "real" stereo sound, right ???? I know that Atom does not have bluetooth with "A2DP".
in my tp2 i noticed that when i have a wired or bluethooth headset conected and someone calls me it only rings in the headphones! this made me lose several phone calls.
in other devices i had , i used a reg hack for it to ring in the device speaker and headphone,so i tried in my tp2 but it does not work as the reg hack is related to the microsoft bluethooth stack.
therefore i m asking for help and also if other tp2 users can confirm this issue.
my bt heaset is a jabra bt3030.
thanks
I am having the same problem with my TP2, the headset becomes useless for this reason.
I use a Sennheiser MM-200 headset, bought this headset not to have earphones plugged in ears all time but only when i have incoming call.
Not sure what to tell you about the wired headset, but is your BT using the normal headset BT profile or is it connecting also with A2DP/Stero BT? That could be part of the problem.
In the Bluetooth menu it is connected with: "Stereo Audio" and "Hands-free"
you can switch off the stereo audio function and stay with the hans-free function only. it works fine, but you have to do it manually.

I made a soft reset and now the phone rings even with stereo audio enabled - whats good for me, but i do not understand why
Hi Faria,
There is a setting in the BT config to transfer "ALL" system sounds to the connected audio device, this may be your issue. I don't use a wired but my Rhodium rings in the headset and on the device after removing this option.
Cheers,
Beasty
I really hate this feature too. I am used to listening to music on my BT hedset. So when I get home I would just take them off, put the phone on my desk and go about my business. But if I don't disconnect the headset now I won't notice it ringing... which can lose in lost phone calls.
Hopefully someone will find a workaround.
Start>Settings>Connections>Bluetooth
First tab (gears)>Advanced>Audio
"Play system sounds on remote hands-free device" = uncheck
Just tested and works for me.
I get the normal ringtone from the phone and the regular "beep" from the stereo headset.
FYI, this is basically the same information as listed two posts up...
On my old phone if my headset was in and my phone rang it would say call from and state the persons name through my headset. The ringer itself wouldn't play through my headset nor the phone. And now I can't remember but I know it beeps in my ear but I think the phone plays the actual ringer also at the same time. But if I checkmark what you guys are unchecking will the actual ringer play through my plantronics bt headset and not on the phone.. I kind of would like that for if I am out and dont' want my phone to ring all loud I would rather the ringer play in my ear and was wondering if that's what happens when I check that. Mine was unchecked when I got the phone.. I don't havea bt headset I use for music just talking mostly when driving..
Are there any custom ROMs that support all sound routed to a bluetooth headset when it is connected? I have a Plantronics M 155 which streams the phone and media just fine. Notifications and system alerts play through the headset and the phones speakers. Plantronics says all sound routed to headset is a function of the phone. Using BTmono will routh everything to headset, but the quality suffers. Why have a headset if George Carlin is going to blast out to everyone that 'There is a letter in your mailbox!'
Thanks in advance.
Hi all,
When i have a Bluetooth headset connected and a call is received, a tone sounds inside the headset AND my regular ringtone plays on the speaker. When I get an email or SMS the appropriate notification sounds play on BOTH the speaker and my headset.
OTOH, when I plug in a wired headset the speakers cut out and all is heard only through the headset.
Is there a way in the settings that I have have the speaker muted for all sounds whenever the BT is connected -- channeling all rings, notications, etc through the headset -- just like when a wired headset is plugged in?
Thanks!
On my old Nokia 301 basic phone the phone would ring and it would also play the ringtone through the bluetooth headset. On my "smartphone" it seems to be more of a stupid phone, all my Platronics headset will do when ringing is beep at me. Is there a way to resolve this? How was my basic phone able to do this yet my smartphone does not?
Back beat go 2 user here, ringtones and message tones play just fine through my headset. It may be something to do with the phone not seeing the headset as a media capable device, check under the headsets settings and see if there is an option for media.
Yeah, the bluetooth profile only shows the device as Call Audio. It is an older Platronics Explorer 240 which is BT 2.1 but my old Nokia 301 for some reason could play ringtones, phone calls, and even music through it. So it just confuses me as to how my smartphone couldn't do this.
