Change number of home screens on JB - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm on stock 4.1.1 and am wondering if there's a patch to change the number of home screens? I appreciate this is not part of stock and that I should use a launcher for better control, but I just happen to like stock.
Thanks

You're stuck with 5 screens unless you wanna use another launcher.

[Q] Lock screen identification

Hey guys,
This lock screen randomly started overriding my pattern lock (I had to turn it off)...
Can any of you guys identify this and how to fix it so I can use my pattern lock again?

I'm running Apex... but about to switch (no idea to what!) because he's never around and never updates.
It was GO Locker - got it fixed - thanks guys
If you are still on Apex and not happy, I highly suggest Nova and experiment with it.
As for the GO locker, expect to find it randomly change on you if you have more than 2 different locker themes downloaded. I had it before I rooted and it would randomly change the locker themes on me once or twice a week.
Irritating to say the least.

Are there any custom launchers based on jelly bean yet?

Reason I ask is that the stock jb launcher is way faster and smoother than apex or nova but I can't use the stock launcher right now because I use 240 DPI and want 7x6 grid. The stutter when opening app drawer is unbearable. I tried different kernels and even different Roms same thing.
Anything available yet or should I just go back to stock density.

Why not? I bought a nexus so I could implement mods like this. I think the stock density is a waste of the huge display.

I'm using Apex Launcher that you mentioned and I do not notice any difference in smoothness.

Dunno about Apex launcher but with Nova reportedly* you'll get smoothness if you go in to the animation speed options and select stock speed.
(* not my tip - I've always stuck with stock speed on Nova is working fine for me on JB)
I am using the paid version of Nova, which was updated yesterday to support JB animations and it is nothing but butter.
I am stock no root.

I still can't quite work out if I find Apex or Nova as smooth as stock, and can thus switch back to them and get customising.
There'a a mod in the themes section. I havent tried it, but it might be worth a look.

That's because stock launcher has nothing in it compared to Apex. I've run 3 JB roms now with apex launcher and Franco kernel. Fast as fast can be. I have to say I am quite disappointed in JB though, I find there is not much to their update.

Tried Nova Prime on a couple of JB roms, set to fast (2above stock) smoooooth transition. Ive never had issues with Nova on GNEX.

Another reason to like the stock JB launcher is the fling to remove apps. Now that should be implemented into every launcher.

I'm trying to find an image with the nexus logo with a transparent background to use as a custom launcher icon. The one if got has a solid black background and was perfect with a black wallpaper on my home screen, but want some diversity options for wallpapers. Anybody have or know where to find? I tried Google images search and came up with a ton with ought a transparent background.
Please and thank you!

Looks like something you could make in Photoshop pretty easily. What size do you need it? I can make one when I get home later today.

[Q] A launcher that is closer to stock?

Hello all. I've been using nova launcher for a long time and I've been irritated a little because nova is not a complete replica of the stock android launcher (android 4.2). What I mean is, it looks similar but the spacing of the icons are not right (which I am able to adjust through nova settings) and the folder when opened its too close to the edge of my screen. Is there any other launcher that can possibly give me the closest feel to stock launcher apart from the stock launcher itself?
Thanks

That I can do, but what I don't like is how the folders are pushed to the edge. There's supposed to be a bit more gap than the whats in default by nova.

Except it's not. The icons are at the top of their "areas" so there's a large gap at the bottom and almost none at the top. Changing the spacing affects both, so they are never even. Widgets seems to work properly. This has always bothered me about nova.

Can't live without nova prime launcher, the fact I can place more apps in folders an get rid of the useless stock search bar at top is worth it alone.
my question, why would they make a replica of Default launcher? if they're making a launcher they want to make sure its different and nothing like the default one..
if you know what i mean.. and btw i use nova launcher and i think its pretty neat and easy to use..

Take Nova Launcher or Apex Launcher and this Launcher make very nice JOB or look here in XDA TW Launcher 5...
There's one in the galaxy nexus themes and apps section, you'll have to find it, but I've used it before and it works just fine. Or the second alternative is to use the search function and find it, that would have worked instead of creating a new post.

Yes when will you change the Launcher2.apk (is TW) then you need root.
Install the Nova Launcher and runs really well.
You can adjust and change as many gestures, icons, dock and more and it runs without stuttering or crash.
For me, the best launcher in Android systems.

This will work with 4.3 but is buggy... the rendering differences between TW and 4.3 frameworks causes the page transitions to be 'flicky' ... not at all fluid.

WTH do you want to pollute a nexus with touchwiz of all things? Makes no sense. As others say use quality like nova /paid version. It is amazing. People root Samsung to get rid of touchwiz. Buy a Samsung

It's a matter of likes and dislikes. Did anyone stop people from removing touchwiz? Why would you stop someone from installing it then?
