Hi, i got this 3 questions:
1) What happens if i select reset factory settings without unfreezing the apps that where freezed with titanium backup, do they become defrosted on the reseted cell or if i don't unfreezed they will stay hidden?
2) What happens with the freezed apps if i uninstall titanium backup without unfreezing the apps that where frozed.
3) How does titanium backup freezes the apps, does it change the .apk to .bak? if not, how?.
Thanks
Anyone?
1. Your apps will go back to their original state, so if frozen, it will be unfrozen

I ran a titanium backup, then I deleted a bunch of stock apps, then I ran another titanium backup in preparation to flash my first custom rom.
My question is, after I flash the custom rom and use Titanium Backup to restore my apps and settings, is it going to restore all of those apps I deleted? I opened the Titanium folder on my SD card and all of those apps appear to be listed there.

If you didnt remove them apps from the back up then yes it will restore them. There shoudl be an option if you scroll down i batch where you can see delete back ups for noninstalled apps. I would do this and it should remove the back ups of any app you previously removed but had backed up.
Careful, Titanium doesn't actually take backups of system apps, just their data. If you delete system apps you may not be able to restore them with Titanium.
Does anyone have those stock apps, so i can reinstall through titanium? And how exactly is it done... Thanks.....

ditto! Need a zip file if possible with stock apps (mainly stock.apk and widget, news.apk, newsreader, rss.apk, friendstream and widget)
as far as how it's done it depends on your phone.
run
cmd
adb push filename.apk /system/app
In TB, it shows the system apps I had deleted, and they have a line through the file name. Below each one, it says that there isnt any backup of those apps. If I open them, it only gives me the option to un-install them. Should I keep them there in case I need them when I find a way to re-install them?
Certain system apps will not reinstall even if you have a backup of them. If you uninstall Facebook for HTC Sense, for example, there is no way of reinstalling it and getting it to work again. Be careful what you uninstall.
If you pay for the TB Pro Key, you can backup system apps (the actual apk) and restore them to /system/app - I've done so anyway. You shouldn't restore them (or their data) on other roms. You can also freeze the app to test if anything will break by removing it. Freezing doesn't remove the app, just keeps it from running or showing in your app drawer. I know it's a bit pricey, but I think it was more than worth the price. Plus you get background app restores, meaning that you don't have to agree to permissions and select install for each app.
You don't have to restore everything that you backup. When you choose to batch restore (select "restore missing apps with data"), you can uncheck which apps you don't want reinstalled. I usually only restore the apps I absolutely need after a clean install, then if I need an app later I'll restore it. This helps to weed out apps you don't use. You can of course do this with the free version.
If you've removed apps and need them again, you can download the rom and extract the apps you need then push them to /system/app. Or you can just flash the rom over itself without wiping data, just wipe caches. If you're running stock you can do this with the stock rooted rom.

When I look in the the "Downloads" section of the Market app, it shows 3 apps constantly installing even though they aren't and they are not on the top of the list. They are Titanium Backup, AutoKiller, and XDA Developers. I can use these apps without issue. When I try long pressing any of these items, only an the option "Details" pop up and going to the page is also useless. I tried uninstalling Titanium Backup to see if it would get rid of it but it doesn't and now I cannot reinstall Titanium Backup since I cannot cancel the false installation! Shutting off the phone and reflashing my Rom does not help. If I need to wipe may I have the Titanium apk so I can adb install it to my phone?
Edit: Never mind I fixed it.
I upgraded to ICS and was getting frustrated by the frequent "wait" messages on Web browsing and other apps. So I thought I would do a reset to clean things up.
I did a Factory Data Reset from Settings. After it reinstalled, I asked it to restore the apps and settings that had been saved from Google servers.
Unfortunately, it seems to have been inconsistent in what it restored. Most apps are restored, except ones from the Amazon market (as expected). But apps do not have their settings restored (logon information, game levels, etc.). All of my WiFi settings for the various places I regularly go are lost. I though that was the point of having all of this saved to the Google server?
I am very disappointed. If so few things are restored, I might as well turn off the backup my data option and save the background processing.
Both Backup my data and Automatic restore were turned on. What went wrong? Is there any way to get these settings back?
Some apps not restored
As I look at the restore, I realize that several apps are not restored, such as Amazon Appstore, Avast antivirus and a few others that I installed from the Google Play Store.
I am not sure why most apps are restored, but not all.
This is normal for "USER" data. Even TITANIUM backup has difficulty "restoring" all your USER information.
I find that I leave the sync to Google account turned off and just use Titanium Backup and or CWM.
If you feel brave I suggest installing the CWM (Clock Work Mod) and using that for backups. It makes a snapshot image of your rom which includes all user data and apps. Just remember installing the CWM or TWRP is for the brave at heart...

Hi guys, I would like to save my Apps and associated data using the Titanium BU.
I unlocked the Bootloader, installed TWRP 3.3.1-0924 (unoff.) and Magisk 19.2.
Device is: RN8P, MIUI Global 11.0.3 Stable, 11.0..3.0 (PGGEUXM)
Problem: I can install the Titanium App v8.04 or the v7 version. When the TitaniumBU trying to start, and there is some long error message (approx. 2 pages) that all list only Java errors.
Unfortunately, I have not tried the Titanium before (without TWRP and Magisk Root).
Now, I can not say whether it worked before this modification.
Question: Is there any Java settings in the MIUI settings. I didn't find anything in Settings / Developer mode. Maybe someone can help me. I just want to back up my data and the apps with Titanium. On my old Samsung it made a perfect job.
Thanks
regards wa2ld
I downloaded Titanium Backup from play store seemed to work perfectly fine for me.
I had trouble getting titanium backup to install from my backed up apk's but as JuanM2020 said, from the play store works fine. Only issue I have is I've noticed some apps fail to restore with titanium backup on my rn8pro, just hangs, doesn't matter which settings I change. Maybe 10% of my apps have to be manually installed from the play store and then I can restore "data only".
I did not have any issue installing Titanium backup I grabbed from apkmirror, latest version available.
Gave it root and done.
Tbh I had been looking in that solution to backup my apps due to TWRP issues with work profiles (second space) which I am using, and so far none of the apps I tried to backup and restore worked. It backed up the Apk yes (but I dont care about that I have backup of those already) but not once I could make a backup of the app data (well yes I made the backup) more precisely could not restore those apps userdatas. Simple thing I wanted to have my login passwords saved so it could be restore without having to retype them.
Whatsapp, telegram, protonmail and some others, restoration of userdata failed all times.
Still have not found any solution to backup and restore apps and their associated datas from both profiles. Fails on both.
It is likely working for some apps, but certainly not for the app I need it to work. Too bad for me.
Speaking of which is there a way to only backup OS settings alone (without all the apps) for like walpapers, colors, default apps, per app settings like notifications and such?
Thanks.
