I have the same problem. I don't know what I have to do now.
I have already connected my phone in flashmode before.
How to install bb70 then? Without running flashtool? (you said that).
install the driver first..then it will definitely work..its a common error..
Install the drivers, restart the system and pc,now try out

Just to double confirm that to perform the flashing mode on arc is it press and hold back key n connect the usb cable? Green light of led will light on right?
I have installed the driver with no issue. Dunno wht shld i do now?
Edit: finally i know wht happen. For those who still cannot install, u shld go to ur pc --> flashtool folder --> driver folder --> double click the flashtool-drivers.exe file --> install ur phone model adb driver and flashmode drivers. After the installation done, then perform wht u do before to flash...

My problem is solved since a few weeks. My problem was, that my antivirus was still activated. Now I've installed the drivers and my phone is running bb70 now.

install a custom firmware with BB77, it's newer and better, and probably will work, cause the instalation process is totally different, so you won't use flashtool and stuff.
Greeting to all,
This is my first post, but have been doing stuffs like this for a year now.
Anyways, today I tried to flash my Xperia Arc using flashtool latest version, 0.7 or something. The ftf I was trying to upgrade was LT18_4.1.A.0.562_NCB.ftf

After this, the phone is stucked on flash mode and gets a "sony" black screen only, I tried also to reflash but same happened. Originally, it had 2.3.2 stock version (MOvistar Chile carrier) rooted.
Well, I dont know what to do now, if anyone got any idea of what can be done, since i cant reboot the phone... please advice me!
Thanks in advance!
flash again and check "No final verification" box.
good luck
if that not working try to flash like here

Hi guys,
A friend asked me to help with her Arc LT15i. The stock firmware is slow and buggy [latest, whatever SUS installed].
I went to the service menu and found that "Bootloader unlock allowed : no".
Flashtool shows this:

Also, Sony sent me the bootloader unlock code.
So... what the hell is going on? If it's locked and can't be unlocked... what's with the Busybox? And if the device can't be unlocked, why did Sony send the unlock code? I'm confused...
Any idea how I can get this thing unlocked?
LE - date code is 11W29 - can I use the test point method to unlock it? [I mean, is it safe?]
Thanks!
