For some reason, just stopped recieving connectivity for 4G/HSPA+. Worked fine after flashing over to TuchMi S3X, but today it just stopped. I checked if my IMEI was corrupted, it's not, matches what's under my battery. I also tried re-entering the APN settings, found here, to no avail. I have full bars, still receiving calls and texts, but can't get on the internet at all unless I connect to Wifi. I've also tried toggling airplane mode and restoring a Nandroid back up with no success.
I have an AT&T device, running this ROM, rooted through this method, with clockwork recovery flashed through the terminal emulator. This was done over a week ago when i got the phone, and I haven't had any issues until today.
What should I attempt to remedy the issue?
EDIT: The default APN is still in my settings, unable to be changed. Using the two provided from the above link, I can get the 4G icon to appear briefly before disappearing when switching between the two, but that's all I've managed so far.
I don't see that that rom us based on s original at&t rom and that could be your issue.

What is your network type?

I'm pretty new to Android, but out of curiosity I flashed CyanogenMod 6.1.3 a few days ago and all went well, but I've just noticed that I'm unable to get a 3G connection. All widgets/settings show that 3G & mobile data is turned on, but there's no indicator in the notification bar and no browsers can connect to the internet. I can still get a WiFi connection. Any ideas why this is happening, and how I can fix it?
Thanks for reading.
Check your apn settings, you may have to enter them manually

Tried that, used settings straight from the T-Mobile website.
It is definitely something to do with your APN setup, something isn't right.
Hi, just got my One X a couple days ago. Things went fine until last night, suddenly the phone couldnt connect to the internet via data connection. Wifi is fine but 2G/3G gets connected and disconnected instantly. The H/3G/E and up and down arrows appears and disappears constantly.
I checked with my wife's phone which is using Android and also the same network provider but data connection was fine. So I did a hard reset but it didnt help. I installed another ROM but the problem still there.
Im thinking to have my SIM replaced by tomorrow. But before that, I wanna ask if anyone has seen any problem similar.
Thank you guys :good:
If you've tried a new Rom and checked your apn details already then it does sound like a SIM card issue.
Have you tried getting into Phone settings hidden menu? Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone info, scroll down, and make sure radio type is set to wcdma preferred.

Yes, already did that too. So I guess I will have my sim card replaced then see how it will go. Thanks man

I'm having the same problems with some custom ROMs and I don't know what to do to fix it.
It works right with leedroid but I couldn't make it work with any CM.
I can be browsing the internet and then it goes back to 2G for 1 second and no connection any more.
I already tried the configuration with the dial number above and nothing seemed to work.
Thanks!
Just got my simcard replaced yesterday and now things are working fine. Yay!
Hello,
I lost my sII and went back to my evo
I was running an old deck rom I got a few months back, and when I got my phone switched, the 3G didn't work. So I got a new ROM (twin turbo one) and the same issues. I can make calls and get them, same with texts. Also if I use 4g I can access the internet and related things, except that I cannot download any market apps using 4g....
Any idea what is going on? I checked for mobile data being off, also rebooted. Suggestions?
Thanks!
did you set the apns correctly?

How would I check that?
Did some googling and this is the best that I found
" It appears that on my GSM operator the 3G settings are not automatically detected and you need to enter them manually. To do that you need to go to Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks>Access Point Names. "
but...that doesn't really help me because my settings menu doesn't have an Access Point Names option. I will do some more research but if you can respond on exactly what to do, that would be great
I'm having same 3g issue. There is no 4G in my area.
Backed up apn from my hero which gets 3g and restored on my EVO but no change.

Try flashing back to your original nandroid backup, backing the apn's up, and restoring them in the new rom?
One of my ha passwords got corrupted when I was in the ##data menu. Have you gone in and tried restoring it with a sense Rom?
Some brief history:
Rooted on stock ROM from factory everything working fine.
I was prompted for 4.2.1 OTA update, I accepted phone restarted with no errors.
I cannot get 3G or 4G around my house the signal is full and and i see the little up/down arrow as if some activity is happening.
Any app that requires data Facebook/Netflix/Speedtest tells me network is unavailable. I can still make and receive call and txt
Data does work once I leave my area and phone connects to a different tower I imagine.
I have spoken to tmobile support and a ticket was placed to check the status of the tower and they are reporting "no outage" .
Things I have tried for troubleshooting so far:
1. reset and re-enter apn details
2. tested my sim card in a CM7 rooted HTC Nexus same issue
3. Tried my sim in a stock tmobile blackberry curve , data worked (3G limited device)
4. My phone gets data when i force 2G network only
I would hate to flashback as I have everything setup perfectly and even my tether is working but any help is appreciated.
Try using a different radio

Wouldnt the 4.2.1 OTA push out a new radio if needed? I'm not using a custom ROM all stock since day1 except for root w/gnex toolkit. Also the phone gets great 4G speeds when not in that problem area (that happens to be my house)
OP, have you found out what your problem was as I'm having the same problem with my phone

I'm running Paranoid Android on a rooted Galaxy Note 2 and I've run into a weird problem. My mobile data won't work -- the system menu shows it as being on, but I show no actual internet connection. Simple reboots haven't worked; the only way I've been able to resolve is by doing a full restore via TWRP.
The trigger seems to be when I go to certain locations -- like the downtown area of my city, where I'm on an LTE connection. It doesn't happen when I'm on the 3g network near my house, for instance. However, once the mobile data goes down, it won't come back no matter where I am until I restore. Anybody with a similar experience, or a suggestion? I'm at a loss.
Check APN settings to ensure that you only have one listed.. Then edit the "APN type" field and change it to this..
default,admin,fota,mms,supl,hipri,internet
Make sure to select menu key - save or it won't save. Then reboot phone and how does it react?

Ah! So, only one was selected (ATT) and the suggested fix didnt work. *But* I switched to "ATT LTE" (naturally) and it seems to have fixed it. Many thanks!
