A few weeks ago I flash the jelly bean before the official ota update from this threat
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737849
By that time it's still 4.1, not 4.1.1
But recently, it really piss me off by having the update notification frequently, and the problem is I can't do that with this ROM with a little bit of modifications. Can someone teach me how to flash it back to the normal one, or 4.0.4 and let it update via the ota? Thanks.
read threads on how to fastboot..... fastboot back to 4.0.4
get OTA to 4.1.1
or flash a 4.1.1 ROM.

sorry i got my phone today and i updated it via wifi. now it's running ics 4.0.2 build icl53f. and it doesn't do anything when i tap update again. i thought it would upgrade to 4.0.4.
can i flash the latest aokp now or do i have to flash 4.0.4 via odin first?
does it make a difference?
No difference at all.
Use my guide (linked in sig...post #2) to install a rom the correct way (bug free).
I personally just updated.
Solid build.
Just in case you wanted to know why you didn't get the update for 4.0.4, Google doesn't control the release cycle for non-yakju phones (phones that are running ROMs from carriers/vendors). It has to go through their process before it gets sent to you. If you really want IMM76I without needing to go the custom route, just flash the yakju (stock Google) images here. Instructions are here.
I have YAKJU build still no Jellybean OTA on my GNexus
I am now on IMM76I & i have not received OTA update to Jellybean 4.1.
Is per your instructions I have updated to the Google version of ICS (YAKJU).
Should I wait for the OTA? or is there any other way to get Jellybean? (Dont want to root)

You can try to "force it" with the Google Services Framework trick. That's about it.
Hi guys, I am in a little trouble. When the developer conference version of 4.1 was leaked, being the impatient person I am, I flash the Busybox Deodexed rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737849
I do not know what this rom did to my phone, maybe changed me to takju? But I can not flash the stock yakju 4.1.1 file that is on xda.
I would like to just return to complete stock yakju 4.1.1, I have no problem in going back to 4.0.4 and then to 4.1.1. Losing information on my phone is not an issue, I am willing to wipe everything.
I would really appreciate some help
Thanks a Bunch!
the solution lies in the same thread. you can install the odexed 4.1.1 rom, that would brink you back to stock takju 4.1.1 its the same with just the addition to Google Wallet

So will i get future ota from google, or will I have to flash them myself?
youll get future OTA's. you can just flash the factory images later when they are released just to make sure
Thank You very much for taking time to answer my questions
I'm currently using AOKP build 40 and I want Jelly Bean 4.1.1, do I have to flash 4.0.4 ICS and then download Jelly Bean from there, or can I go straight to Jelly Bean?
If you want to stick with the custom AOKP ROM, follow their instructions. Some recommend wipes others don't.
If you want to go to STOCK 4.1.1, you need to flash stock 4.1 then apply the update manually. There's no factory images for 4.1.1 yet.

I already backed everything up and wiped my phone lol, I was planning on going back to 4.0.4 first but it said there was an error when I tried to flash it from CWM. Since I already wiped everything should I just flash 4.1 then? And if so is it gonna be any different from the 4.1 from the OTA update?
EDIT: Apparently from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764536 I need to be on 4.0.4 first, where can I find a link to download 4.0.4?

Thank you fooman! I already flashed an AXI0M engage 4.1 jelly bean though lol, do you think it will be the same thing as jelly bean from the OTA update, or should I just leave it?
You can follow efrant's most excellent guide to return to official 4.0.4. The guide contains all the links you will need.
Only if you want to stay stock does any of that apply. If you find a custom rom that is 4.1.1 just follow the instuctions in that thread. All it is is just pretty much flashing a different rom, nothing too different.
Considering the fact that my device is rooted, and I have installed Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) by my own when it was still an unofficial version of this OS, can my device be updated to OTA update or I must get the 4.1.1 version manually by myself?. In the case I can't get the OTA update, would it be possible to stop getting notifications about a new update which is available. The constant notifications are driving me crazy. Thanks for your attention.
1 no you can't do ota updates 2 you should just flash one of many outstanding ROMs on this great website and then you will no longer get ota messages

If all you have done is flashed the 4.1 image from Google I/O, and rooted, then yes you can take the OTA. If you have a custom recovery, edited system files, non-stock bootloader and radio, you can't OTA.

As martonikaj mentioned, if you installed the stock 4.1 ROM (along with the XXLF1 radio), then you can accept the update to 4.1.1. If you installed some other 4.1 ROM that is not stock (like bigxie's ROM or something else), then no, you cannot install the update. Updates are only for stock ROMs.
If you don't want to update but want to get rid of the notification, have a look here.
Hello XDA, I followed that guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726088 to root my Videotron S3. Worked like a charm and have no problems. I got an OTA update Friday and the update failed. I figure it might be because i have CWM. I would like to update to Jelly Bean very much...How do i proceed? Thanks
Jelly bean isn't out. But flash stock recovery.

The OTA update is not for JB yet. The update is probably just a new radio or modem or base of another ICS build.
