After downgrading hboot and S-OFF I am not able to use my existing google account. Please help.
mod edit : not development moved
Well, first of, this doesn't belong in the Development section.
Second of, you should give us some more info.
Just what do you mean by "I'm not able to use my existing google account"

I have just downgraded the hboot and s-off, after that, applied google software update (3.1 mb)
1. when I am trying to setup existing Google account. I am not able to sign in.
2. I can create new Gmail account, but not able to add existing google account
3. Not able to browse google.account.com or sign in google/gmail in internet explore in mobile.
4. not able to access market.
5. Can setup facebook account.
Why I am not able to access or login my google account?
Did you try a custom ROM?

What google software update? I've never had or been told to install one of those. Its probably screwed up the services and apks related to google accounts.

1. with SystemCleanup from Google Play Store. Uninstalling a system app will not make more space (because system apps are on a different partition). Instead, you can use this app to make space and update already existing systems apps (because normally updates take up from your available space, e.g. google maps update).
2. it's not safe to delete everything you see. I have successfully uninstalled: HTC Trends, Weather & News, Google search (can be reinstalled from google play), HTC Quick search, Gmail (can be reinstalled from google play), HTC Likes, HTC Widget Likes, HTC Photo widget (has a memory leak bug), YouTube, HTC Tips. I have updated all other system apps and I still have 2mb left for future updates.
3. rooting is needed and for this you should start searching and reading. first: unlock bootloader (go to www.htcdev.com, erases everything on phone), second: install cwm recovery image (i find it easier to be done through fastboot commands), third: install superuser (su) zip from cwm recovery

I got an HTC One X bootleg from China and the google play apk I installed does not work at all. I understand, I need to root it so I can install a modified version of google play. I've tried every way possible to root it using bin4ry, gingerbreak, doomlord and superoneclick to no avail.
All I wanted was to make google play work that's it. Is there anybody who can extend help? Thanks in advance...

Do you have your bootloader unlocked?
Do you have your Google account activated?
Are you 100% positive that your One X is genuine?
Which G Play are you trying to install? How re you trying to do that?
Please provide some additional info.

I don't know anything about bootloader. Sorry.
I do know I have a valid google account.
No, I was fully aware that my device is just a clone.
I downloaded the latest version of google play apk. I downloaded it to my sd card then installed it manually.
Hold volume down and power to get to bootloader. Take a pic of it, then select recovery, take a pic of that too.

official google wallet apk from the play store wich was updated on 13/3/2014
here is the link to the playstore: Google Wallet
**New update v2.0-R115-v14 RELEASE
you can download the apk from this link Direct APK download link
please note this is the UNPATCHED Original version straight from the play store, for people outside the US to be able to download and install..
Possible method to make it work: (may or may not work)
1- install hotspot sheild or any VPN that makes ur IP a US one and run it
2- make sure you delete any saved credit cards in your wallet account
3- install the google wallet apk
4- run it and choose your google account
5- you should get a message saying " wallet is currently available for US only if you live in US please change your home adress"
6- click on the change home adress link
7- enter a US adress (dosent matter wich one as long as its correct)
8- close the app and uninstall it
9- re install google wallet
10- run it and choose the same google account u changed the adress on and it should work fine
i live in dubai and i tried this method and it worked fine for me so give it a try it might work
please report in a comment if this method worked for you...
a little thanks never hurt anyone and sharing is caring with a little mention
I'm not able to activate NFC payments.
I tried also patching build.prop (as in previous methods) but Settings->About->Tap & Pay says "not available".
I know that transactions would be anyway declined when the wallet is used outside US, but with previous patched versions, at least the functionality could be activated.
The good thing is that everything else (sending money, loyalty, offers) seems available even without build.prop changes.

well since the NFC payment dosent work anywere in the world yet besides US so it makes no sense to get it working, but everything else is working fine so thats a big plus i guess..
did u use my method or did u try another way? if so please share it so i can add it to OP and others can give it a try

You are right: there's little sense in tapping a phone to a POS and getting an authorisation decline back. Nevertheless there are those who want to try (for test purposes only )

I already had registered previously a US address, so my method was... simply to install the apk.
No need to spoof the originating country IP (Italy in my case).
And I did not delete the existing cards.
Just installed the apk and launched the app that successfully opened up, asked my usual PIN and presented the various new options (send money, etc.).
Just to be clear: I already had installed the old version patched by modaco (v1.6-R96-v13). I never tried the subsequent Xposed mod (would be curious to know if it works with v2.0-R133-v9).
So fo me it was a version upgrade and not a fresh installation...

well i dont think the modaco patched version or the xposed mod have anything to d with this because i never install any of them and when i tried my method it worked fine for me... so i guess this means my method works fine with the latest version as long as u got a us adress i think....
Google wallet has been updated to the latest version v 2.0-R151-v8 release and links updated in Main post..... the update will be hitting the playstore later this week but if you want a head start u can grab the apk directly from first post

g Wallet does not currently work without US based SIM
I rooted S3 and installed Wallet app successfully. Tap and pay featue was also activated successfully. Changed build.prop file to Google Nexus etc. Device confirmed changes to build prop file. However, without a US SIM card, the NFC Tap and Pay will not work!
Do you have a US SIM card? I had my WiFi operational with a US IP because I live in US.
Please clarify if you did anything else special.
Thanks.

well i live in Dubai so there is no way for me to test the tap to pay option and basicly i dont need it here, thats why i didnt bother to check if it works or not or even try to activate it for that matter. but other than that the app works perfect for me.
Thanks a million dude.
Is there anything I can do?
Or, I have to open another account?

If you loose access to your email account, you can easily change it yourself. Someone posted the link above.
I recently got my friends OnePlus 3 but he couldn't remember pattern so I resetted via stock recovery, however, it needed google verification. I tried all the things on YouTube as well as upgrading to oxygen os 9.0.5 via sideload, it still didn't work
Booting in fastboot is useless because I can't go into the phone to enable unlock bootloader
Do you guys have any more ideas for how to unlock ?
FRP is also called theft protection, and the whole point of it is that if it gets stolen with a Google account configured in accounts when doing a factory reset, only that account can be used to unlock it. That's why it's so important for previous owner to remove his Google account before factory resetting it and selling/handing it over to you.
So the solution is simple, just let your friend configure it again using his Google account, then remove it under accounts before factory resetting and then you can enter your account to take ownership of the device.

I already found a solution to this already. About letting me friend configure, he permanent moved to another country already, thanks for the advice though.
So what I did was to use once again ADB sideload to roll back to earliest oxygen I could get (android 8.00) which enabled me to exploit through talkback into chrome and settings and so on, which I couldn't do on Android pie.
