Virtual buttons instead of capacitive? - HTC One X

Hi.
Been searching around the net but could not find anything.
Is there some mod for the One X international to disable the capacitive buttons and instead get on screen buttons like on the Galaxy Nexus?

Just to know, why do you want to disable capacitive buttons as virtual buttons will reduce the space available on your screen ?

Are you serious? No one know what setting would work! I'm starting to regret trading my galaxy s4 for this phone since at least people help out in that forum...smh...

Maybe no one is really using the on-screen buttons? I tried them for about an hour before I decided it was a waste of screen real estate when I have a physical home button and capacitive Back and Menu buttons. It's possible no one here knows the answer.

[Q] ROM/APP: permanent nav buttons on screen?

My home, back and recent buttons on the phone are broken. I hpermanent ave root but that's not the reason.
So, is there an app or Rom which can put those buttons permanent on bottom of screen, and then make the rest of the screen the display. So it should lower the height of the viewport, and put those buttons in the remaining space below.
I've tried "button savior" app, but I don't want those buttons as an overlay.
The screen on the phone is big enough to use some of it as a permanent button area I think.

most aosp roms and some sense roms have the option to show the "nav bar" at the bottom, some even have the option to change the colour of the buttons

Try the ParanoidAndroid ROM.
You can enable those buttons in there and you can even customize them exactly the way you want them to be! (the size, color, etc...) :victory:

perfect! Can you also help me by telling me exactly where one can enable those buttons in that rom? And maybe give me link to latest version of that rom?
Pie Launcher which is for root users also provides some features..try it

Sorry for not replying for so long.
Those buttons are enabled by default, so that shouldn't be a problem. The latest version of this ROM can be found here. However, why didn't you just have a look yourself? It can be found pretty easily in the Original Development section

There is a flashable zip which turns off the backlight of these buttons but their functionality is mainatained.
I don't know if you can totally disable them.

Go to Setting-General-QuickButton-Select Shortcut-None. I was hitting the button all the time, came to hate it.

So there is no way without rooting?
I also find the volume rocker to be really annoying as I always accidentally hit them. It would be nice to be able to turn these off

I mean the left touch button located on the s4 mini phone.
I would like to click it instead of the center button to show open apps and close them. Like new android phones do.

Apparentely it's possible to put the virtual buttons inside the phone screen..but not to change the actual touch buttons.
It's a valid alternative, but not what i'm looking for btw thanks for the support @rookie12 !
