[Q] INCredible rEVOlution theme + black rotary lock = loss of red color & batt. icon
I know this is my first post but I'm more of a lurker, I have read through what seems like thousands of posts regarding this and found no solution thus far.
i have the INC-REV theme working right now with the dark rotary lock screen but i am super bummed that i lost the red that comes with the INC-REV theme by default (ie. borders of windows/popups, highlight color, button press color, the THCINC on the lockscreen etc.) and the multi-colored circular battery indicator that came with the INC-REV theme originally. There are several less important details i miss but are not as 'important' - notification bar isn't flat black anymore for some reason, the app drawer seems less transparent also.
My setup:
rooted dINC
Virtuous 2.6
INCredible rEVOlution theme
hide location and alarm mod
handcent rosie mod
HTC_IME mod
dark rotary lock (applied with metamorph)
rEVOlution font
manup's clean icons
INC-REV splash screen
What I would like to have working:
INC-REVolution theme
-notification bar
-app drawer
-rosiemod
-red color scheme
-font
-keyboard (HTC_IME) mod
Dark rotary lock w music controls (or if I can learn how to replace the icons in the rotary lock possibly my own custom one with red icons)
zips I have tried (no I did not flash them all at once, I have tried various combos of them, generally my approach is to flash the theme itself - then a rotary lock - then the theme mods):
virtuous_rotary.zip
virtuous_rotary_v2.zip
Manup456_REVOlution_1_2r1-INC-rotary.zip
INCredible_REVOlution_rotary_framework.zip
rotary_music.zip
I am very familiar with clockwork and recovery and all that, relatively resourceful with adb, and kinda newb to MetaMorph but learning. However, I am almost certainly confused beyond belief about doing any editing with apktool as there is so much contradictory information around about it.
If I flash virtuous 2.6 - inc-rev theme - keyboard mod - rosie mod - font - icons, everything is fine I have my red color, red market icon, red highlight and so on; but if I try to do anything with a rotary lock all that gets reverted back to the ugly green.
I have read the following xda threads (just to name a couple) and tried the above mentioned fixes and have not had any luck.

Any help is really appreciated - like I stated before I am not asking because Im lazy - Im asking because all my searching has been unsuccessful. Ive tried reading through the overload of info on how to metamorph and/or modify the framework-res myself and so on and have not found much that actually explains the processes involved. I'd love to do the theme myself and touch up all the little minor details to my liking...just cant seem to find out how to actually accomplish that.

NEW!
CARBON-JB-EXP-23APR2013-013848-e975.zip
Thank you for the port.
This rom is working very well. There are a lot of custom settings laid out in a nice and userfriendly layout, very nice! Only problem I found was that *front* facing cam seems to be stuck in some sort of "wide" mode, so my face was really long when in portrait, and more correct in landscape. And why remove "hold back button to force close app" -Solution: Edit hardware keys to holding back button-kill app. As in some other roms, there seems to be an issue when using auto brightness that causes the screen to use anything from seconds to minutes on waking up.
There are some advanced settings that are locked, probably because of our kernel (like changing Gpu freq and vibration). 13mpx cam working, focus works fine. Definitely one of the most well made roms I've seen!
Tested on E975intl
PS. Rom is very very similar to Beanstalk rom posted by ltelg, I've posted basically the same comment there. Carbon has a slightly better layout for the numerous settings IMO.
i wish someone can port this rom for my f180l,
Hi ltelg
You havea lot of good ports, the problem are the updates afterwords!....

He ONLY ports, no updates. He does put out new ports every now and then. But he doesn't post much to xda any more, Here you can find a quite new carbon port
This is a great ROM but have just noticed that the brightness must be set to nearly 100% to be a normal brightness. Is anyone else having to set their brightness so high ? Itdoes drain quite a bit of battery I have noticed.
Cheers, LL13-

Check Main Settings -> About Phone CyanMobile is build off of platform version 2.3.8
I checked Google's git repository for AOSP, and there's no branch or tag for an Android 2.3.8. There is 2.3.7, but there's no 2.3.8. Looks like CyanMobile's developers are mistaken or made a typo somewhere.
Also, the CyanMobile website says 2.3.7.

Hey the daily driver build just stays on the boot animation but never gets to the main screen. Is there anything special i need to do to get it to boot?

Try re-installing it and if you still get stuck at boot animation just pull out the battery and reboot that worked for me and make sure you have gapps installed

Did you remember to do a full wipe (everything but SD card) before installing the ROM?
Yeah i got it to boot after pulling the battery during the boot animation and wiping the cache. Just one problem, when recieving a call only way i can answer it is setting upnenu key to answer. It does that no matter which style i use. Any ideas?

I got it fixed. I just turned the ring delay off and it works just fine now. I love this rom btw. You did a great job. The customizations are incredible. I love fwd to more work by you. This is just a thought but you should work on a jellybean rom with similar customizations. That would be sweet. Keep up the great work.
I really do like this rom. The mods r excellent. And I really like the 4G mod even tho its still 3G but its still cool. More dev by you would be greatly appreciated and of possible I really would like to see a jellybean ROM with similar mods even a kk ROM that would be awesome. Just want you to know that you work hasn't gone unnoticed and definitely deserves lots of thanks.
The file is no longer available. I'd like to try this.

Sweet man. I look forward to your new build it sounds awesome. Especially the kitkat edition thats awesome. keep up the good work and thanks for all that you do.
just installed the gingerbread version of your new build and its much smoother than the original. cant wait for the other 3 versions to be available. keep up the good work man and thanks.
Hey where can i get the universal installer at? ive tried to google it but no avail.
Really looking forward to this ROM, I'm trying to find one with everything working, no BS.
This one has been pretty impressive so far. Works right out of the box. Some things that people might want to disable, like sound in the boot screen, softkeys, rubik's cube screen saver (hint: it's not in the cyanmobile settings)... But performance is wonderful.
Good luck on future releases!
Also, @duffieldj1, you were asking about mobile service? Seems to be working for me. Status bar says T-CDMA 64. I'm not sure what that means besides the CDMA part, but isn't Verizon's 3G network CDMA anyways?
Remaining somehow unsatisfied with the available (free and paid) themes, I actually wonder how to edit lets say the background of the menus or the font colour by myself.
I mean, there are some great creations available but their numbers are small (new device, ok, that might change) and with every one of them I found things which don't look good or are less useable than desired and would require only small changes.
This is not to criticize the creators of the current works but mainly a plea to receive some kind of tool or help regarding small changes to an existing theme. Other than the icons or the wallpaper, the phone's apps don't allow for changing much.
So, to list:
- Change menu background
- Change font colour, perhaps text outline (mainly in menus)
- Change transparency of widgets
- Change colour of "enabled" vs. "disabled" sliders and buttons
- Change icon style (means if they are round, squared, etc.)
Things I've found so far, which may apply to the G7: How to change the nav bar colour. (that's a link from the mini review)
Edit:
Would SystemUI Tuner help? From the description, it does touch on UI items (hence the name) but wouldn't allow for the changes I've listed, no?
1. pixel launcher crashes after I set it as default
2. If i have these status icons: sim1, sim2, wifi, bt, night light (led), nfc - i don't see app icons in staus bar for notifications - ie. gmail or sygic when downloading maps, etc. Not even notification light, only app "badge". In app permissions everything in notifications is enabled etc. And in settings apps & notifications also everything enabled.
And also in gmail settings itself everything in notification settings is enabled.
UPDATE: so after manually enabling everything for gmail in "app launch" I get notification LED, but status bar with the notch i just tragic and it is not showin, instead it is full of system icons, I guessed that after year of notched phones this will be sorted, but well I was wrong. That is huge oversight - thre should be options to display smaller battery icon and smaller dual sim and wifi icons, also eye care and dnd icons. basically all system icons should be dual row and fit into right part of the notch so there is space for actual notifications on the left.
You can use CPL instead of the Pixel Launcher.
It's way more customizable as the name (Custom Pixel Launcher) suggests and I haven't experienced any issues.
CPL also does not work, I think it is based on same source. I can get over the pixel launcher issue, but missing notification icons in status bar because of the notch are really what bothers me.
I thought all the notch hate was only for how it looks, that did not bother me, but now I also hate it.
