26.03.02.26_m would be the old radio, which technically should work fine in the unofficial CM9, AOKP, or Virtuous rom. (Though the virtuous/sense roms require a desire z hboot for the larger /system partition, but fine for CM9/AOKP/AOSP)
the radio in my signature is the new radio, but I don't think that would be the problem, because it should work with the old radio (the new one requires an update to the radio/gps ril file which is linked in the first post of say CM9 RC2)
When you installed a new rom, did you make sure to do a factory-reset, wipe cache, etc before flashing the new rom via the recovery?

Hrm just for the sake of information, what's your full hboot/bootloader output? And which Recovery?
For example mine would be :

MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.13.04.19_M
eMMC-boot

What recovery are you using?
By the way, one possible suggestion I could probably make (it probably won't fix, but it'd be easier than changing your entire hboot) is to flash the newer 26.13.04.19 radio via PC10IMG.zip file (i.e.: you rename the zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809 to PC10IMG.zip and place on the SD card as it states in the instructions), then flash the EFS wipe zip via recovery, and in the case of CM9 apply the "Matching lib-ril and gps .so files for 26.13.04.19 Radio" that's provided in the CM9 RC2 thread.

cwm v5.0.2.7
istalled the new radio and wiped efs. nothing
i`ll install audacity again with wiping all
and let you know
any way, know that we are thinking of every thing that has nothing to do with wireless!! is there by any chance any patch in gapps that force me to install it or it is just some google apps ? (cause i don`t install it )

installed the rom again. no chance with wireless.
the radio is updated to last version and audacity b5 is the last one i tried.
i`m going to get worried about my phone`s partions.
i formatted them alot
any other ideas ? flashing HBOOT (please don`t ask me to do that, it's a bit scary :-ss )
i don`t know where the problem is but it's odd, cause i can use wifi thetering without any problem.
wifi turn on easily but can not find anything
is there any program that manage wifi networks??

You could completely reflash everything, by using a PC10IMG (especially in RUU mode) though that might be a bit extreme.
kinda weird how it works on gb but not ics, maybe try talk to the Andromadus guys.

Would have replied earlier, but macbook froze up.
I was going to say, have you bothered to try Mimicry 1.1.2 (ICS), when I tried it wifi worked fine with my configuration so as long as I did not also choose to have T-Mobile Wifi Calling.
(Also I recommend 4EXT recovery over ClockworkMod)

i don`t know where the problem is but it's odd, cause i can use wifi thetering without any problem.

@nipqer: i don`t have the privillage to send any post on developer forum :-" ( i was in xda since i bought my phone, but not a member, and of cource no posts from me till now )
@kbeezie: no i haven`t try that one. i'll give it a try and let u know if it works.

are all the routers you've tried 802.11 N only? cause N is turned off for audacity, seeing as its broken.

don't know what else to do. any other ideas ?

I had wifi problem with all 4.0 roms and this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445766 solved my problem. It changes Wifi country code in Secure system settings.

[Q] Flashing a ROM, it's been a while...

Hi, I have posted this before but it got deleted because I very stupidly posted it in the wrong place.
My question has been answered before due to searching but no one else happens to be in my EXACT situation and I don't want to mess up my phone.
Basically my Desire HD is rooted etc and I want to flash the Android Revolution ROM, but I havent flashed any ROM's since my OLD G1 and now everyone talks about S-OFF etc and I don't understand these, on my G1 it was simply rooting and flashing a Recovery and then flashing a ROM, so basically what do I need to flash this ROM
My situation:
I am running the stock ROM (permroot on 1.32.405.6)
I have stock radio
I have Clockwork mod 3.0.0.6
and Buzz Sense 1.3 + OC (OC'd 1.6Ghz) kernel.
(+Ever since I downgraded from 1.72 I have lost wi-fi, it connected to my wi-fi but I get no internet access through it, its definitely a problem with the phone and nothing else because I have tested my router etc, all my other devices have connectivity through my router)
We all were in your exact situation. The Desire HD employs an extra level of security to prevent users messing with their handsets, S-ON.
You need to turn this off, Ideally ENG (Engineering) S-OFF, before you can make persistent changes to your system.
Have a read through the very helpful guides in the Dev section. They also contain the tools you need. Turning S-OFF should be a one time process only, i.e once you've done it there is no need to repeat it to flash another ROM.
Hope that helps.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I have SHIP S-OFF and I'm unable to get ENG S-OFF because when I used the Easy S-OFF tool it can only give me SHIP S-OFF for some reason, I cant do anything now since its incompatible with my kernel as well. Can I flash a ROM with just SHIP S-OFF? I don't want to flash any radios because I bricked my G1 about 4 million times when flashing radios.
It you run a 1.32 WWE RUU and revert back to stock you can then reapply ENG S-OFF. A bit of a ball ache I know.
Most ROMs will work just fine with SHIP S-OFF but ENG is usually preferred.
To flash a radio you need Radio S-OFF another beast entirely. However there is a very good too to do it with. No bricks so far and your DHD will then have super CID and be SIM unlocked.

Just tick the "I have radio s-off" box and it becomes compatible with everything.
follow my guide in the sig and skip to eng s-off and radio s-off part, or skip to whatever comes next if you've already done them
Tried that, I get a "Connection Error", I have made sure its fully connected as "Disk Drive" and I allow the Super User request when I do it, but it still doesn't work, plus the radio tool just says "Incompatible kernel" - or something like that.
I mainly want to know, can I flash Android Revolution in my current situation, can I flash with just SHIP S-OFF and my current kernel, or do I have to go back to stock kernel, flash the ROM and then flash my kernel back?
and why should I have ENG S-OFF, if it makes a lot of difference I will give it ago, but I mainly want to just flash this ROM to see if it fixes my wifi issue and my camera doesn't drop so many frames! (known issue in 1.32, fixed in 1.7X)
Disk Drive. Yeah, read the guide again more carefully, mate... And change the tool, why are you using easy radio tool!? It won't give you ENG S-OFF. My ENG S-OFF tool will give you that. And it most definitely will not say incompatible kernel if you just tick the box I talked about.
You can flash ARHD now. Do not mess around with it's kernel after flashing, because it comes with the best kernel out there. The kernel has been made to fit ARHD's needs.

I get the same as every other time, downloads the Easy S-OFF tool, "Pushing stuff to SD" Phone says "Unknown has been granted su access" and then the tool says "Error: Connection Problem!" - I get this every time, I have tried re-downloading this software every time, removing the "Unknown" in super user and then re-allowing it when it asks, I still get the same error...
Does it matter that I'm using Windows 7 64-bit?
EDIT: I think I've done it now, I downloaded the latest 2.3 SDK (I had 2.2) which updated my ADB drives, I didn't get the error this time, will boot into H-BOOT and check now.
Are you still using that disk drive mode? Because you should not.
THANKS
I have thanked everyones post, I can confirm my H-BOOT Now says PVT ENG S-OFF, one last thing, I'm all good to flash now? I can just put the ROM (sense version) on my SD card and flash it in CWM, with my current kernel, even though it will over write it with the one included for Android Revolution, I dont have to go back to stock kernel or anything first right?
Thanks again
Have you flashed ClockworkMod Recovery yet? If not download ROM Manager from the Market and flash it from there.
Once that is complete, download ROM, put on SD Card, Recovery, Wipe, Flash, Enjoy.

[Q] Wi-Fi Error on InsertCoin 1.0.8 - Radio?

Hello everyone.
I have to say that this is an amazing resource. Hat's off to all involved!
On to the reason of my thread.
I have successfully S-Off'd my htc Desire (CDMA - US Cellular) via the Alpharev Beta. I have since used Unrevoked to install CWM. After that, I installed InsertCoin Stable 1.0.8. I really like this ROM and would love to get my Wi-Fi working.
Like most others with the same problem I get an 'Error' when trying to enable it. I have searched the forum and read that updating the radio may resolve the issue. I am not clearly understanding the radio versions.
Currently, I have the one listed below (RADIO-2.15.00.11.16). So, my question: Do I have the latest radio for my phone? If not, would flashing the radio potentially brick my phone?
(I already managed to brick one by trying to flash the hboot to the highly reccomended cm7 from Alpharev's site after using the Alpharev Beta on it... No screen, so I suggest staying away from flashing hboot at this point. I'm still working on resurrecting it.)

Many thanks again!
Your radio is indeed old and you should update it, on IC thread you can find the link. Because you're s-off you can do it through fastboot and not neccesarily through recovery. I flashed it through recovery it took less then a minute. But fastboot is recommended. There is a risk that you brick your phone, but not if you don't pull you battery out or do something else wrong, everything should go fine

Wow, thanks!
I flashed the radio to 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 but still a no go on my Wi-Fi. Any suggestions?
Do a full wipe, flash it again. If you already did this, and still no wifi try the nightly because i can confirm that no one has problem with wifi on nightly(i find nightly very usable for everyday, although use v51(rosie from sense 3.0) or v45(rosie from 2.1)) The ones in between are very battery draining and buggy
Edit: i see you did 5.17.05.08, why not the latest, although this one should work as i have it
Okay, this is odd. Do the radio's not stick when you reflash a rom?
I have flashed the radio 10+x and it's not changing what's displayed on my fastboot screen. It is still showing: RADIO-2.15.00.11.16.
I have tried both 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 & 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23.
I have tried through recovery & fastboot. I am about to try android flasher...
Is there something I am missing? This appears to be locked based on the following message from Fastboot Commander v1.0

Any ideas? I am not able to locate much via search regarding locked radios...
I searched a little bit for you. Even through fastboot CWM 3....... causes problems. fastboot flash AmonRa's recovery. I have it myself, much better than CWM After using AmonRa you'll be able to flash a new radio
You need to flash the kernel, I had this same problem.
Baadnwz and Robocik include the best kernel for sense?, The kernel shouldn't be a problem. CWM version 3._._._ is.
Btw downgrading to CWM version 2..... is also ok but i recommend Ra's
I have tried all day to flash AmonRa's recovery. Each time it say's it was a successful flash but then I get stuck after rebooting into hboot menu and selecting recovery.
I get the splash screen and nothing more... Very aggravating to say the least.
I hate to ask but which version of Ra's recovery are you using? Thanks again!
BTW - I installed CyanogenMod 7.0.3 for my CDMA device and everything works as it should, WiFi included. It's just a bit too bland for me. I like the Sense 3.0-ish feel...
Is there a way to pinpoint where the differences are between roms regarding the wifi/3g files? I noticed on IC my 3g/EVDO never worked either but on CM 7 it does.
I am no stranger to doing a bit of coding and can find my way through just about anything given enough time but this one has me plum bumfuzzled... lol
P.S. - you guys are awesome...
What are the chances that InsertCoin broke my wifi permanently?
I had the same problem as this guy and now it's permanently in "Error".
I have changed Radios, ROMs and HBoots, reverted back to stock s-on HTC-WWE latest and it's still in "Error".
Matt
@PapaJohnMC, i use amonra 2.0.0 not 2.0.1, not yet maybe later i'll change it, but try 2.0.0, btw how did you flash it, Android Flasher might not have worked, do it through fastboot
@mvisiter, the chances that IC broke your wifi are too little to think that's the cause, anyway you should use a RUU to get everything back as it was before and send it to HTC,but if you reverted, np just call them and ask them what to do.
I've flashed the latest HTC-WWE ruu via renaming it to pp99img.zip and it still doesn't work so I guess it's go to go back.

No Service After Trying to revert to Stock

I was attempting to downgrade and move back to complete stock (Rom, Recovery, S-On, all that)
and after flashing the stock recovery (i think) and rebooting, I lost all service connectivity.
I've since reflashed and re-rom'd a few times and am back to running CM9 and CWM
I've tried my SIM in another phone and i get service
I've also checked my APN's, should all be good.

How old is your Sim card? I heard that SIMs over 3 years old may not work with the latest radio, as such you might have to get a new sim card from T-Mobile.
Its pretty new...
Also, it worked just fine with CM9... it only stopped working when i went to downgrade.

You had CM9 before downgrading? that's confusing, normally you downgrade before rooting and don't bother with downgrading ever again. If it's radio specific you may need to clear the EFS cache.
I was kind of following a guide to return to stock, but i think i might of skipped a step and that's what messed it up....
Okay, so i cleared the EFS cache using this guide
But still no success
my best guess would be to flash the radio, if this won't work there may be something else damaged during your unrooting process. always read up and be double sure you understand the process when you are changing firmware (radio/spl/etc)

It may be a hardware issue, but to confirm it, you'll have to flash a RUU.
Make sure you have the stock hboot.
Do a nandroid backup, download the ruu in my sig (pb99img.zip), take the zip, and place it on the root of your sd-card (like, outside any folder), boot in hboot, and select yes. After flashing the firmware, check if the signal problem persists.
If yes, then it's not a software fault.
You can then s-off and reinstall your recovery with revolutionary, and restore your backup.
doesnt work what can be wrong with hardware?

So you flashed the ruu?
Then, yes, it's most probable a hadware falut.

[Q] Desire Z bootloop (CM)

Yet another bootloop thread. So I had HTC stock rom for 2 years and last saturday I rooted the phone and installed cyanogenmod 7.2.0 (all instructions from CM forums). It worked fine for 3 days until I enabled wifi. Wifi didin't connect ("network disabled") so I rebooted. After typing in the pin code the phone reboots. From this on the phone reboots after about 10-30 secs after booting cyanogen.
I got the wifi to disabled again but no use. I got logcat and dmesg dumps but there wasn't anything that points out (at least not to me).
Things I tried:
- I have checked that currently the wifi is disabled
- Factory reset in clockworkmod (didn't work)
- Re-flashing the cyanogen 7.2.0 stable (worked for about 30 minutes, then rebooted by itself) without any additional software installed (except google apps, of course)
- re-flashing the downgraded firmware from CM forums via hboot -> no reboot!
Versions:
VISION PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.0005
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.03.02.18_M3

It says SHIP, shouldn't I have ENG as I installed the engineering hboot as in the CM forum instructions? I would like to use CM so what should I try next?
Also, should I update the radio? The thread at developer section has lots of radios but mine is (about phone) 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.18_M3. All the radios in the thread are "e" but no "U". So just to make sure that I don't brick my phone, are those "e" radios ok?
I cannot post links so I can't link the CM forum instructions.
When downgrading again you lost your engineering SPL, just reflash it with fastboot

As far as the radio goes its hard to say what is best, different for anyone but theoretically all should work to some degree, I would suggest to try one of the newer ones as it may be the cause to one of your issues

Hmm I tried to re-do the cyanogenmod wiki downgrade & root but after running
/data/local/tmp/fre3vo -debug -start FAA90000 -end FFFFFFFF
I get lots of errors "An error occurred while running the exploit (-1) (errno: 25)". Didin't flash the hboot yet with fastboot. Maybe I should try that next.
Actually that won't work as you don't have many fastboot commands available to you with current SPL, you'll need to flash via bootloader, go to the thread I linked and at the bottom of the op there is a link to a couple pc10img.zips I made, read instructions and flash one of those

OK, I downloaded DZ_PC10IMG.zip from dropbox. I see there's a radio.img in the zip. What version is it and/or should I use it (is it a "e" radio)? If not, any special instructions on how to remove it and repackage the zip? Oh and thanks for your help.
Just flash the whole pc10img.zip as is, don't remove for now as changing radio might also help you and kits easy to switch back as needed, follow directions in that post or read the readme.txt from the drop box link

I've flashed the DZ_PC10IMG.zip and now I have VISION PVT ENG S-OFF and 4ext recovery touch. Radio is 12.62.60.27U_26.13.04.19_M. I've lost the "e" in radio version. I've heard that it needs to be "e" for Europe(?). Time for radio update? The stock android boots fine.
Try phone as is, if everything works well then leave of be, if you feel your old radio was better than use fastboot to flash it back

Well the stock android is the downgraded firmware from cyanogen wiki. It's useless, language is only english thai or singapore etc. I could use a stock android, just had to find out where to get one. Or try cyanogen again with the new radio. Any special instructions to flash via the 4ext?
Edit: Hmm virtuous ROM could be nice if I wanted a stock rom.
So at this point everything is working as it should? Just looking to change radios? Or just looking for a ROM that's stock and has your language?

With the downgraded stock rom I get full bars on cell reception but nothing on 3g, i.e. doesn't connect to the internet. I have no wifi at the moment to test it.
Edit. In the settings it says "mobile network, connection failed"
