Sound Volume on CM9 - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have CM9 and am using FXP 128 kernel and my ringtone is really low compared to how it was on 2.3. Any suggestions?

Have you tried turning the volume up ^_^
But yeah, Stock GB had xLoud & other things that made it louder, in CM everythings set to an average, any over & you could damage your phone.
But you can use DSP Manager

Volume boost?

So I got some new headphones with bigger speakers than your normal "ear buds". With the volume at full it isn't very loud...
I tried getting one of the volume boost apps from the market and it made the sounds louder for sure, but the quality we terrible. Lots of static. Is there any better solution?
I tried the headphones on my computer and the sounds was way louder and quality was excellant.

The gingertiny kernel has audio boost built into it, and also other kernels if your not on gingerbread. You can find it in the dev section. Other than that an app is your only option.
Well you see they purposely limit the output on portable devices because kids listen to it too loud. So it sucks when you get a nicer set of headphones or hook up to a stereo and it has really low volume. Get a headphone amplifier but its another device with battery you have to charge and carry with you.
Bummer, not looking carry another device. I an on miui so sense kernels are no good for me.

Not sure but im willing to bet there is a non sense kernel out there with audio boost. Or mabey a kernel module to enable it.
I'm pretty sure Chad's kernel has audioboost and it's AOSP.

Yea I used to use Chad's but it's really buggy with miui. Maybe I'll try tiamat.

I just use DSP manager and adjust the eq up a couple db's...

Chad's has audioboost and it shouldn't be buggy with MIUI. What type of issues were you having?
Use poweramp?

Volum boost for CM7

Hi guys, i was wondering, is there anyway i could boost up my in call volume? i have tried boosting apps, and none work. Im running aero's .8 bfs kernel on CM7.2 RC1.
I use Volume+ to boost headset volume as well as in call volume. I believe you can find it for free around here on XDA.
+1 on volume +

Did any of Evan's other GB kernels help? I know the low volume issue can be fixed with the correct kernel. For some .6 worked best and for some it was .7

you can edit the settings in the kernel to boost the volume. Too much however, will cause distortion.
This will still need to have the kernel compiled, of course. But if the source is out, this can be accomplished easily.
problem is, i have used volume +, but it doesnt work att all for me.
Aeros .8 kernel fixed the low call volume but you will have multitouch issues with that kernel. I didn't think volume+ could fix low call volume because that is a parameter set by the kernel and volume+ only boosts the gain for the external speaker and for headphones I thought.

Sound level cm Rom

I noticed the last Phietzx cm Rom has a sound level problem phietzx tip ti set sound level level(setaudio speaker to 10 offers a minimum useable level.

Enthusiastic Gio User
Very glad with the work done
But sometimes a pusher for results( nothing bad intended)
I think we have to wait until phiexz make a flashable zip with the old audio libs in.

I'm using with power amp and sound great with the same rom
Posted a Beats Audio with Dolby Mobile review using my SG2 with Clones/Drones v3 ROM and Bose IE2 headset.

Update... Although it plays audio with very impressive results, it causes hang time when attempting to make a call. Fix permission or reboot will temporary solve the problem but hang time will not go away.
This thing is awesome I use it on Jedi mind v8 and my music sounds great with poweramp and my beats head set

Flashed 3 other ROMs but keep coming back to Clones/Drones v3.. This time, tested with Awesome Beats v3 for 36 hours and had zero issues.

Running for days on XTREMEPERIA with no issues. Don't even need Beats headgear for it to sound amazing. The Samsung ear buds do great! Lol
I have the hang and/or no sound on phone calls with the rezound Dolby addition. Was going to manually move files over to see if a lib was replaced causing the issue, but didn't bother after seeing so many in the zip.
Using 7/15 aokp

[Q] Good basic ROM with volume boost?

Hey Guys -
I recently tried the Franco kernel with hopes for a speaker boost, but it turns out that just does headphones. I'm looking for another kernel and or ROM which is not bloated, doesn't kill the battery and will make the speaker/ringtone louder.
I'm by no means a power user, use maybe 3-4 apps total, so don't need all the bells and whistles. Just would prefer something close to stock, with good battery life, and has a good volume boost on the speaker/ringtone.
Thanks!
I personally recommend Trinity Kernel and any ROM that works for you. You also need to purchase the app in the Play store to modify the volumes. Its a small price ($3 USD) and goes to a very talented developer
Just use dsp manager to boost speaker volume, you can also purchase franco's app and boost volume from there

You wount regret it its basic with only internal changes done to it with almost nothing changed visually from stock its only missing toggles then itd b perfect for me ive used it b4 with Franco and its a good combination
Speaker volume and ringtones are just not loud enough on any rom I've tried. I was hoping they would be louder with this one but they are still too low. I guess it's the hardware... Darn.
