I installed cyanogenmod 7 onto my fire and it was working perfectly until i tried playing music on my Kindle and the sound wasn't working so i went to the settings and i turned the media sound up and went back to play the music when it still didn't work so i rebooted my kindle into recovery and wiped the system and i was going to try to flash the ROM again when my kindle fire just turned off so, i thought it was at low battery so i charged it, when it finished charging i tried turning it on but when i pressed the button the green light came on but the screen stayed black. Please Help Me
hold down your power button for one minute then try to power it on plus bad deal cause it requires a system to charge unless your bootloader is 1.4a
---------- Post added at 07:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:07 PM ----------
if you do have bootloader1.4a then hold power button down for one minute and then plug into your computer for usb charge for a few hours set your computer to stay awake see if you then can get back into recovery to flash your rom and gapps

I was following the root process: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568340 for 6.3
and while I was flashing FFF 1.4A I disconnected the usb cord by accident. I was stuck at splash screen still for minutes, I panicked and held the power button in, now my KF won't turn on. I've tried both the usb and wall charger to turn it on and held the power button for several minutes...nothing.
is my KF bricked? i should have been more careful, lesson learned though.
Yeah, you screwed it up bad.

Think your best option is to make a factory cable and use the fastboot mode to restore your KF or use Firekit. Make sure you read all the way through those threads, there are a lot of useful info and links there.
Hope that helps. Thanks for listening.
Sincerely,
William

im going to use that firekit program today but what command do i use from the list? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21068072 i pretty much knocked the usb cable out during installation of recovery i believe.
any does anyone know how to set your my PC's BIOS to boot USB before the internal drive, which is one of the requirements for firekit? i have win7.
even know i got a replacement coming in i want to learn how to do this.
thx
You don't have to alter BIOS on windows 7 just simply plug the bootable USB into your computer and restart you hit escape I believe just as your PC is booting up and select boot from USB if your kindle is not powering up that would be the script option you would choose

Depending on your BIOS you'll usually have to press "del" or "F1" at the memory test or when the computer first loads.
Simple scenario,
I received a kindle fire, immediately wanted root. Found kindle fire utility and ran. In the process of installing a twrp, kindle rebooted, and now will not get past Kindle Fire Splash screen. PC will not detect that a device is plugged in.
Any thoughts?

I'm thinking that you just might be stuck in fastboot mode.
When you reboot, do you get different boot options at the bottom of your screen when the "Kindle Fire" splash screen shows up? If so, try scrolling through them to do a normal or recovery boot (you scroll with the power button, then stop when you get to option you want and let it boot). Hopefully, you can get to a good boot, so your KF can be detected by your PC again. But, then again, you might have successfully installed twrp and just failed on the reboot, so you might be fine.
What does the splash screen look like?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda app-developers app
TO BOTH:
There are no options at the bottom.. I assume they would be obvious..
The splash screen looks like the stock splash screen that looks like the normal boot.
Black background.. orangish letters saying Kindle Fire
Plug your kindle in, open kfu, ignore offline and boot status unknown, select 1 for changing bootmode, select normal, if it hangs<waiting for device> hold the power button down till the kindle turns off while connected, then power it back on it should reboot and correct the bootmode to normal.
Problem solved:
Do not use a USB 3.0 port. I guess that was prevent my PC from recognizing the device. I switched to 2.0 and PC picked it up right away. Off we go.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Correct a 3.0 usb port has issues. I have been able to get it to work but its quite dangerous when it come to flashing things like bootloaders.

Here`s my guide that may be helpful http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923010
I can not get my wife's fire HD 8.9 to boot. When I turn it on the Kindle Fire screen appears for about 5 seconds, then the Kindle Fire goes out, but the screen is still backlit.
This device is completely stock with no modifications. It did this when I turned it on one day, no previous problems.
I tried holding the power button down for up to 2 min. After I hold the button for 10 seconds the backlight goes out and the kindle is completely off. I tried letting the battery go completely dead, then charging it for several hours with no change. I tried running fastboot, but it is stuck at <waiting for device>. My computer does not see it at all. I do hear the chime that something was plugged into the computer immediately followed by the chime that it was disconnected, but nothing shows up in my computer at all.
Is there any hope for this Kindle, or is it bricked for good?
So I assume you're on windows. That beeb you hear is the fastboot mode you need to load drivers really quickly during that beeb. At that point fastboot shoukd work and you can issue a command to get into the factory restore.
I got it working again.
The problem was simple, I did not have any drivers installed on my computer for the kindle (I have never plugged it into this computer before it would not boot). I found the drivers to download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1890413
I was then able to get it into fastboot and recover it with instructions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011126
Hello,
my FE375CG is bricked: when I turned it on, it's stuck on INTEL logo.
I tried this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fon...w-to-unbrick-soft-brick-t3381263#post67938512
but, after third passage, I can't turned it off, it remains stuck on Intel Screen.
So I waited battery discharge, but when I plug to recharge, the tablet turned on and stuck on INTEL screen, I' can't proceed to the fourth step: I can't maintain + and - and power on my device for 4 seconds because it turns itself on, remains on INTEL bootscreen and I can't do anything)
Have you some suggestions? Should I throw it in the trash or there are chances of recovery ?
(sorry for my poor English)
EDIT: I think I've choose the wrong section of the forum... sorry!
1 - Go To Fastboot Mode
Turn off Your Tablet
Press ( Power + Volume up )
When Tablet Vibrate leave power button , keep pressing volume up
When asus logo appears leave all buttons
install Android Official Rom
Download The rom you want to install from asus Site
copy it to SD Card
Rename it to ( mofd_sdupdate )
Enter Fastboot Mode ( You will see it's changed )
choose recovery
Now You will see android installing updates

Hello Everyone,
I have a strange problem with my zenfone 5z and I have been looking around the forums for hours with no luck. I am hoping somoene can help.
After reverting back to the factory firmware from Evolution-X I am now getting a blank screen after my first boot.
My computer is no longer detecting the phone (the computer, drivers, etc. are fine as my wife's Z620KL works just fine on it and we can perform all adb/fastboot functions with ease).
The phone will not do anything but vibrate when you try to power it on. Even if you use volume up/down + power in any combination.
Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions?
I can not sideload/fastboot or issue any adb commands....I do see a USB hub popping up in dmesg (xHCI controller) when I plug the phone in but that is it.
Best Reagrds,
Chris W.
adb devices
I just wanted to mention as well the "adb devices" command does not list anything.
I have also noticed if I hold down the power up or down button after pressing the power button for about 15 seconds the phone does vibrate once...strange.
It looks like I might have lost my bootloader all together?
You can make an engineering line to enter 9008 Or open the case and enter 9008 by docking
