CM9 and MHL - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Will MHL ability be added at some point?

I'm sure it will eventually. Other galaxy sii version are starting to get support for it on cm9. I think having ics source will help.

It should work with a touchwiz based rom. But CM9 doesn't support mhl right now no matter what adapter brand you use.

My monoprice MHL adapter does not even work with stock ICS.

The rumour is that touchwiz ics is flakey with mhl. Should work with el29. Some people have had luck with ff18.

*Not a helpful post* Out of curiosity, what do y'all use the video-out for? Like, presentations or Netflix? I've always wanted to buy the adapter for poops and giggles but I know I would never use it. Thanks for any insight!

Ive always wondered about mhl, am I mistaken in thinking both the phone and TV need to support it? So if I plug into a non mhl TV nothing will happen correct?

[Q] USB OTG?

Are there any working ROMs for our phones that have working OTG support? I know that our phones are "supposed" to support OTG hardware-wise, but I can never seem to find anything about OTG support with some ROMs.
Right now, my phone is on sniper's PACMAN ROM and OTG doesn't work..any suggestions for ROMs with OTG support? I kinda spent $10 on Amazon for my OTG cable, so I kinda want to actually get some use out of it....
Only one time was it working. It was a kernel made by zedomax. Back when this phone first came out. Never has it been able to be implemented again. So no sorry.

A quick Google search would tell you that it is not possible.

You have a SD card slot why not use that.

Otg will not work on our device. It is impossible because of the hardware.

I did do a bit of searching around, and saw various reports. I saw places where it said OTG works, but I never saw a definitive "yes it works"/"no it doesn't". So I figured I would ask anyway. I guess I have my answer now, huh?
It is not a hardware problem. There is video proof of a guy running OTG on his E4GT with a kernel he was building. He dropped the project though.

TV out?

Is it supported on any Roms? If so, which TV out product do you guys recommend?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Just get an mhl to HDMI adapter from Amazon. It mirrors your screen to any TV (or whatever you have the HDMI cord plugged into.) They range from $7 to $15. Not bad, and they work great. No need for an app.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
It will not work on any of the 4.2.2 ROMs yet. You'll have to use 4.1.2 for MHL.
