So is it possible to flash a new splash screen over the Default yellow triangle from FFF?
using
Code:
fastboot flash splash splash.img
yields nothing.
am i missing something? or is it not possible to change FFF's splash?
Thanks!

If you wish to replace your bootloader use this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500935
Hmmm. You still dident answer my question. I realize that I could brick my KF...At least tell me what partition the bootloaders stored in.

Hmmm you didn't listen doing this to your bootloader can cause a permanent brick end of story if you wish to continue speak to those who build the bootloaders
Just a side note hashcodes new bootloader has a lovely new splash screen no more yellow triangle check it out
Wow. You're not too bright. Are you? Let me break this down for you.
1. I couldn't care less if I bricked my KF
That was hard. Wasn't it?
If you don't have the answer, don't post.

Hi all,
Have a slight issue with my phone, I ran the small update IMM76I and now I get a small red triangle on the bootloader wether I'm plugged in via USB or on it's own, therefore....
Can somebody point me in the right direction (struggling to find the correct post in the search) to completely reset my phone, re lock the boot loader, re lock the root and re flash back to stock.
I will then start again...
This time I think I will try doing it myself (what's the best thread if you don't mind for teaching somebody how to unlock....but manually and explaining what is going on), I used a tool kit last time (this was a mistake for me I think), trouble is, I just don't know what it has done, I have learn't anything so no idea what has happened to my phone, I can't fix something on my phone, a simple instruction to "just do this" is meaningless to me - if that makes sense.
I don't even know what/how my phone is unlocked, thats the trouble.
Apologies for the "noob" queries. Hope you can help.

If you look at post#4 of the gsm ToolKit thread then it gives manually instructions on exactly what the unlock/root process involves. Rooting only involves pushing 2 files to the phone and setting their permissions.
Are you talking about the fastboot mode with a red triangle on it? Can you take a picture and post it?
Mark.
Are you talking about the fastboot mode with a red triangle on it?
Power and volume down button, choose recovery mode, gives me an immediate red triangle whether plugged in via adb usb or not. drivers installed ok on pc fine if that helps.
Will load normally so not bricked, just don't understand where i amat or really what I am doing.
Will see if can get a picture if that helps.

okay now that you are trying to charge lets find out some details:
did you get fff installed when you rooted?
this would be either yellow triangle or white kindle blue fire logo....
this is what you use to access recovery... if you have yellow triangle hold power button till it turns orange this will take you to twrp...
if you have white kindle blue fire depress the power button a few times till you get a boot menu select recovery this will take you to twrp...
which ics did you flash?
please try to answer these questions...

and i installed ics 4.1 pls help me the pooch im willing to pay someone who can fix this coz my brother will going home soon
You don't have to pay me or anyone else for that matter...
Here's the problem...
You have drained the battery down so low it won't boot..you have no bootloader that gives you easy access to recovery...you can't access recovery...it will not power on...you have a broken system(very likely) .....
All those things against you we need to find something that is for you...
When you hold the power button down 1 min then try to power it on what happens?
When you plug it into the computer how does it show up in device manager?
Telling me that you flashed ics really means nothing to me cuz there are many ics you need to be specific about things and my questions need solid answers or no one can provide you with any solid advice...
What is your native language?

Ok heres the deal. my daughter got ahold of my kindle. we i dont know what she did but she ran something that much i can tell. i powered it off then back on. when it booted, it booted into twrp and ran a recovey script. this is where it hangs up. so i held the power button down to reboot. when it rebooted it boots back into twrp. but it boot to the main menu. i rebooted the kindle though twrp. this time it boots up normal. after it is booted up it shuts down and reboots into twrp back the the recovery script page in twrp and hangs up. i have tried wiping the cashe and dalvick, then reintalling a back up. but the problem is still there. if some one can help me that would be great. it does charge so i got one good thing going for me. if worst comes to worst, i guess a factory reset and then redoing all the work i have done in the past.

the update requires a compatible recovery to install, if recovery is not compatible, it will get stuck in recovery.
ok so i tried to mount sdcard. it was a no go. was following your vid. my kindle just isnt responing like it should. its geting stuck on simulating actions. not sure what that means. i guess its time to start from scratch. now to remember how to format the kindle to factory. any ideas. haha. i do have a fast boot cable. i could try that method, but you download isnt working right. the codes dont match in md5.

Hello there!
Didn't saw my problem in the forum so i m posting here. The problem:
I have a bootloop, yeah not quite original, but the bootloop is due to my boot animation (never heard of that problem, i m quite new with zenfone). I've made a personal boot animation which is probably too big 62Mo in 2 parts (part0 and part1).
I m quite sure the problem comes from here because I was working on my boot animation, the only manipulation i made is replacing bootanimation.zip in /system/media/ . The previous one was quite similar to the problematic one, it was just a bit lighter (52 Mo), and the only change i made is adding some png to the file part1.
On my screen the firs part (part0) of bootanimation.zip plays normaly (a bit slow but ok) then the second part (named part1 in bootanimation.zip) begin to play and block at 55%. Then i got a white screen and reboot. Then animation again, block at the same time, white screen and restart the second part of the animation, block, white screen, 2nd part etc...
I would looove to erase bootanimation.zip from /system/media/ but it's impossible from adb or from adb shell (root permission denied in both case - root and su didn't work- )
So my plan was a factory reset but a factory reset does not reset bootanimation.zip
So my second plan is to reinstall the frimware but i'm not even sure this will work...
pls help...

Hi thanks for the answer!
But what does unlocking the boot loader will do? And the black splash screen?
My plan was to open a terminal with my device connected with fastboot and send fastboot flash "UL-Z00A-2.20-40.139-user.zip"
Then update from adb ; adb sideload UL-Z00A-2.20-40.139-user.zip; factory reset; pray...
The point is when i rooted my phone i did it through a "one click method" (yeah i was younger and stupid) i dont realy know if it had unlocked my boot loader...
2nd point I can't get root privilege when I m in adb shell I dont know if the method for unlocking the boot loader will work.
You don't need to unlock the boot loader just flash the black splash screen, that is the boot up image, nothing else in that section is important at this point

Hi Guys
I was trying to get back to Stock to be able to install the new ROM.....and now i'm in DEEP **** and don't know what else to do.
This is where i am:
1. Was able to install fastboot flash boot boot.img & fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.
2. Cannot install fastboot flash system system.img, after getting into adb through TWRP ......i get error: closed on the PC
3. It would seem that i have no System left in the watch as it doesn't boot up at all......nor can i get into the System Settings functions (Developer Options etc).
4. If i try to Reboot after about 45 secs the watch defaults to the Android Man with Red traingle an Exclamation Mark(!) .......then after a couple of minutes to the Huawei Logo ......then back to Android Man with the Red traingle & Exclamation Mark(!).........boot loop.
5. Now i see that i can still get the watch into fastboot but the TWRP recovery has vanished , instead its the Android Man with the Red traingle & Exclamation Mark(!).
6. If i try to fastboot flash system system.img ........ i get on the PC .......target reported max download size of 63963136 bytes
I really don't know what to do anymore.
Please someone HELP.

because some people feel like if they own a $350 watch they should be able to do what they want with it. same advantages as rooting a phone.
in this watch, and pretty much all android wear watches, the quad-core processor is locked into eco-mode, which only allows 2 cores to function. unlocking the other 2 cores is step 1.
custom brightness, overlocking, amping up speaker volume, extending battery life, greenify root mode...
try it out already, geez

You actually can if you have the latest Android SDK installed. I had no issues fastboot flashing system.img. I was going to post that fact in that thread but then said screw it. Most people dont have the SDK installed and if they do they prolly never updated it.

I can confirm that. Fastboot flashing system.img using official fastboot from the latest Android SDK works for me, too.
