Hi all. I see much system folders on SDcard. Such as a folders with "." in name and folders from some APPs. So there is question, can we some how hide\move them?
How i see this situation. Can we make folder on SDcard and mount it like a SD in Android? So we will get 1 folder with all system folders, and all our folders.
I bad in android\linux but that what i think. Any suggestions?
The point of the "." is to hide them, your file manager should be able to to chose between showing hidden files or not. For astro it never worked for me, but in root explorer the function works. So first go in to the settings of your file manager and see if there is a option to show/hide hidden files, if the options does not exist or does not work try a different file manager.

Eh i mean in Windows. But in android file managers too.
So Hidding is very hard cause if u come to friend u must make that option on his system. So i hope we can MOVE this folders some where.
you cant move the folders because the apps would all be looking in the wrong place. There *should* be folder on sdcard where everything like this goes, would make your sdcard much more organized, but thats just too easy
Cant you go into folder properties in windows and select hidden??

i mean something another...
What about at boot mount SD-Card in /mnt/sdcard_data, and create folder sys (where we copy all data) and mount it like /mnt/sdcard
And all path will be right.
This mounts must be on boot.

im running 1.4 of this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080999 but i want search anywhere can i get the apk's for it and where do i drop em /system/apps id assume
Why don't you just ask that in the Insertcoin ROM topic? Not really useful to open up a new topic for it.
i dont have 10 posts so i have to post ANYWHERE on the fourm except the section ware it would be most relevent
I see, I understand. Sorry . What do you exactly mean with 'search anywhere'? And which apk's do you mean? Your post is a bit unclear.
the apks are called SearchAnywhere and SearchAnywhereWidget there are also what appear to be data files with the same names also in the /system/app folder ive read elseware these files are rom specific hence my not pulling them from a stock rom
If you have the ROM zip then just explore it using winrar or something. The apk's you're looking for will be in system>app or data>app (if he made a data/app directory). Just drag and drop the apk's into a zipped ROM and flash or use adb to install them.
so i looked in the rom zip no searchanywhere apks inside. Sooooo vmware session later i hav dsixda's kitchen installed in a debian image. Grabbed a shipped rom unpacked it moved the rom.zip to the update folder deodexed the searchanywhere / searchanywherewidget apks. Moved the apks to /system/app with root explorer rebooted and nothing no search anywhere app or widget. Little help here please lads / lasses not like i didnt try much googling has failed to help.
Maybe you can find it in CM7 ROM zip, and take it
put into your system/app and set the permission 3 read 1write
looked in update-cm-7.0.3-vision-signed.zip the apks not there its a htc sence thing bcuz its only present in stock roms ...
hi, sorry if this has been posted before
my brother just got a desire today and i put doodle jump on it from my laptop but we cant find the files folder where i put it
my galaxy s has a 'my files' folder in app drawer where all music and apps download to but we couldnt find anything like that on his desire, just wondering if we are missing something
he downloaded astro file manager aswell but couldnt find it through that either
thanks
How have you moved Doodle Jump to the phone?
You have to download a File Manager like OI File Manager and install the .apk from there.
Or just download Doodle Jump from the market...
i moved it to his sd card when it came up on computer but cant find where it is to install
he searched for it with astro file manager but it said nothing found
is IO any better ??
Maybe you can try to copy it again to the SD-Card.
No it isn't that much different.

It isn't android,my android folders still there, hopefully this upload helps
Have you tried Root browser or ES File explorer or similar?
Whats in your Android folder , data obb should be in it. Phone maybe created a new Android folder when u renamed the old one.
Looking at the date of your Android folder it seems to have been modified today.
I checked the android folder it just contains the data folder.
Hey guys,
I'm hoping I have placed this question in its correct location(If not please excuse my mistake) but on my one x I'm having troubles with my ES file explorer. It came with the viper 3.7.4 that I'm now on. I have been wanting to change the boot animation zip with this program but I cannot delete or rename anything. I have superuser set. If I long press the file and click on properties I have read and write enabled. I also changed the home directory to /. The only thing I was successful in was cut and paste(I took the original boot/down animations and placed them in the newly created folder on my SD.
I also deleted and re downloaded ES file explorer but that did nothing
Even in my file explorer app I cannot delete files. It's like this phone is not letting me change anything. Is their something I have missed. I can only imagine its something simple that was overlooked but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In the app, press menu, then root explorer, then mount r/w
