Stratosk, keep 'em coming!
With today's Jelly Bean 4.1.1 OTA for the Nexus S things are about to get a hella lot more exciting for all of us!
Cheers man!
Stratosk, you are the best! One of the devs I respect the most here! Keep it up man, my phone wouldn't be the same if it wasn't for you.
Stratosk, weren't you on vacation? I warned you to stay off of the computer while on vacation
Thank you so much for this btw. I'm not on JB yet but this is a HUGE reason for the step up. Outstanding job :good:
wow. thats fast. tought u still on holiday? finally my favourite kernel.
This is based on CWM 5.5.... so the backup may not be usable?
How about the vsync feature?
thanks for the work Stratosk..

Currently I haven't tested it on Sense or CM7 ROMs, only AOSP..need more testing..
If you tried 0.9.1b version, you must delete wpa_supplicant, default.acdb from kernel zip and use another one for Sense.
Edit: just now installed 0.9.1 on this rom, works fine!

Awesome bro! I had just about posted in the DataOnEXT thread that we don't have a stable Sense kernel to use DataOnEXT+DalvikOnNAND - have you tried anything on the EXT corruption stuff we were discussing?
not yet. I wanted to quickly release initial version with WiFi hotspot fixed so i do not need to distribute 2 separate kernels in my ROM.
EXT corruption stuff is the next thing on my list, you can help me digging more information about it to solve all problems more quickly.
I will prepare next version of my ROM and will add support for latest DataOnEXT+DalvikOnNAND inside.
I assume the test pack you made earlier for my 3.52 ROM is still valid..or have you optimized it more?
anyway I will look inside your latest modified PACman ROM you posted in your thread for hints.
If it will be necessary I will send you PM.

Didn't saw any noticable advantage compare to marc kernel.
For update in Native SD : change daekin kernel name by update.zip, put this file in native sd repertory, and with nativesd multiboot program (v10 from datagr) go in tool -> update kernel. Reboot just after update finished.
Enjoy, Secaplus

I recompiled it from source completely so both zimage and modules are new.
What advantages? I feel it little faster because of other IO governor but it can be personal feeling only. But true noticeable improvement is working native WiFi hotspot.

This kernel is based on Semaphore Kernel by stratosk with a few changes I felt to be missing in Semaphore.
This kernel combines the speed and stability of semaphore along with few additions for the best combination.
It is compatible with all KK 4.4 ROMs based on official CM10.2 layout.
Kernel versions 3.3.0 and lower are compatible with JB 4.3.x.
Kernel versions 2.9.0 and lower are compatible with JB 4.2.x.
Differences with Semaphore
Entropy tweaks
Patched for 720p usage
Kernel Samepage Merging (KSM) enabled
ZRAM enabled as module (usable via init.d script, attached below)

Re: [JB 4.2.1][KERNEL] Semaphore Plus
ts1506 said:
This kernel is based on Semaphore Kernel by stratosk with a few changes I felt to be missing in semaphore.
This kernel combines the speed and stability of semaphore along with few additions for the best possible combinations.
It is compatible with all JB 4.2.x ROMs based on official CM10.1 layout.
Differences with Semaphore
General Features
Thanks to
Stratosk for his source and help
All people on stratosk's list
Point to note
In S Version , Hugemem Libs must be flashed for 720p record to work
In both versions , ticking bigmem will break 720p recording.
Tar version must be flashed with Odin/Heimdall , zip with CWM/TWRP.
I expect to get more features in the differences soon, including ISO CDROM functionality , normal OC ( upto 1400MHz ) and other features.
This build will be updated when stratosk makes new version , or when I have lots of new additions.
All bug report of this kernel must be posted in this thread , please do not disturb stratosk regarding this kernel.
Please use it at your own risk! I am not responsible for any damage that may occur to your device.

ARM Coresight is a tool used to debug and trace issues in ARM based processors. It unnecessarily adds a load to the CPU , so I disabled it.
For XZ Compression you can read it here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xz

I once asked Stratos why he doesn't use xz, and he told me that he uses a better compression method. Anyways, good job and have fun with further development of your kernel!

Thanks for the info . I will try both and decide then.
I am going to upload build which will change the name of the kernel to something else, as stratosk doesnt want the name Semaphore in the kernel.

a god thing would be autopatching 720p libs like derteufel
this would be a great advantage compared with original semaphore
A god? You can always pray for that to happen!

Since they are 2 versions , s and non-s, this can easily be rectified by adding the Hugemem libs in the zip.
Will do it soon.
Re: [JB 4.2][KERNEL] Unofficial Semaphore+ (name to be changed soon)
Oh... So this is what you pm'ed me about. I see. So, is there gonna be a nolvm version?
Awesomenesss!!!
Swap would be good im missing that feature since devil kernel
i hope you add that feature
Re: [JB 4.2][KERNEL] Unofficial Semaphore+ (name to be changed soon)
Can semaphore manager be used with this kernel and also dies it have auto brightness like the original semaphore kernel. By the way good job m8

Since it is based on Semaphore sources , it can be controlled completely using Semaphore manager.

GPU OC working
Any proofs ?
For gpu Building with -ofast etc., disabling debug modules and currently seeing if I can get the overclock working
I have very little to no experience in c/++ wise but I'm hoping to learn as I go

No not working yet like I said trying to get it working basing off Alberto96's sources and seeing what I can do (so don't get your hopes up)

Seems like a very interesting alternative to semaphore. Gonna try when I'm home.
Good job.
Will try and give feedback ASAP
Good luck for your trials and HSC
thank you for a new kernel @Latrop.
Installed it , got 3442 on antutu , pretty good . Feels quite smooth and fast . Waiting for update. Thanks for new kernel!
Yeh I'm stuck on the slow nand so it seems pretty smooth considering the impact of that

You simply copied almost all commits from my ics kernel to your jb kernel. However, not bad Now i know if my ics tweaks works in JB.
Thanks for this kernel! Its name is like your nickname? Just for info!
Please include zram/swap on this kernel, thks in advance...
Enviado do meu GT-I9000, usando o Tapatalk 2.
The kernel works well, with cpu to 1200 no restarts. You say that you want us to test part?
Went to phone settings and under the label "Kernel version" stands "Unavailable"
P.S. OC to 1,2Ghz is stable, when overclocking to 1,3 or 1,4GHz and getting into any app, the phone freezes and restarts
Thank you too for a new kernel, I'm sure you will improve it well step by step!
Good luck dude :good:
In next version please give a proper naming to the kernel like Latrop4.2_13062013
Thanks
Playing games is a bit below average , I tested subway surf, asphalt 7 1.0.5 , real racing 3 , shadowgun , Beach Buggy blitz . All share the same story : 1 quarter of the game they are perfect , 1 quarter normal , and 2 half lag very bad and unplayable . And I have a weird bug : When I try to enter solid explorer it tryes to enter (Loading...) then it exits , ES file explorer works good .
All was done using the untouched Interactive and ROW . No overclock and no volts changed.

I am NOT resposible for any damage done to your device, your neighbor, or any other things you like/hate.
Introduction:
About:
This Kernel is a port from the Z2/Z3/Z3C M5 Kernel based on the official CM12 kernel. It should work with any Rom using the stock CM kernel too (Like Carbon and Liquid). I'm mainly using PAC 5.1, and it's working sweet so far!
Installation Instruction:
THIS DOES ONLY WORK ON UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER!
When you're on CM/a CM based Rom:
Flash the zip file in recovery
When coming from Stock:
Flash the boot.img included in the zip file using fastboot. Flash a CM based Rom then and flash the Kernel zip file again as the Rom overrides the Kernel.

It's still 3.4 based, but as soon as Camera is working on 3.10 Kernel I'm going to work on a 3.10 based M5 Kernel as I'll use it for Carbon and OmniROM builds for my devices too.

You need to ask jerpelea to give you link to the commit on git when everything worked! Last time when I used his kernel everything is worked, only which was lag was some videos but camera if I am not wrong worked well!
Does the kernel work with slim based roms? I have tried V7 and V7.9 with Tesla and unfortunately both are bootlooping.
Kernel works great. If I want to try F2FS support for the amami it doesn't work.
From my experience it is missing the f2fs mount strings in the fstab.qcom file in the ramdisk. Any chance u can add the mounting lines in the fstab file so I don't have to manually apply them?
