Hi all nexus users..i am planning to buy a new phone.. i am looking towards Galaxy Nexus) i would like to know can i use this in heavy graphical tasks?is it smooth in games and full hd videos?.. one thing is stopping me from buying it. No sd card problem. is there any differencies between 16 and 32 GB version? google supports the 32Gb one?
Sorry for such many questions)..Thanks in advance
32GB is limited to the vzw and sprint nexus versions
16Gb is the GSM one and the one sold at the google play store (assuming you're in the US)
The only time I've ever seen any lag or had to adjust graphical settings was in the game Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave. It ran really smoothly at about 30% graphics (which still looked good), but bumping it up much above that made it laggy when there was a lot going on on the screen. Every other game I've ever played and every video I've ever watched worked just fine.
I have the 16GB version and come close to the size pretty frequently so I would recommend the 32GB one if you can afford it. If you're interested in flashing ROMs and things you'll want the extra space so you can keep nandroid backups and things around without worrying about it.
I am not in america.. does 32gb supports Gsm?..thanks for.reply

You can't use the LTE version on any other carrier other than sprint or Verizon. You only have the 16gb GSM version

I'm pretty sure the only gsm nexus's released were 16gb. google now has lots of cloud options. G+ instantly uploads pictures, Google play music keeps music in the cloud, videos from play can be streamed or downloaded. Google drive can take care of everything else. 16 is usually sufficient.

32GB is CDMA. You get it from Sprint or Verizon.
16GB is GSM. You can get the American version from Google Play. There are some baseband differences between this and world models, best described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405345

The 32GB version would require an expensive plan from Sprint or Verizon. (It wouldn't work in his country anyway). The 16GB version can be used on prepaid plans as little as $30/mo. This particular plan includes unlimited data, so as long as you're in a city and can stream media then it eliminates the need for storing it on the SD Card. That makes the GSM a much cheaper option, even though yes, 16GB sucks. I have a few nandroid backups on mine and it's almost always 80%+ full and I have to shuffle some stuff off to my computer.
Hmm.then i can buy only gsm 16gb version...and if i locate all my videos music in clouds then it will charge data when i play them?

Yes, streaming from the cloud will count against data usage. Or free with wifi, if available. Sorry, I kind of assumed most people get either a large or unlimited data plan.
Either way, this is the only model available to buy in the USA that has a chance of working in your country.
Ehm. Okay bro.thanks. i hace another question)if i buy from amazone will i get warranty? If no then what will i do if i get it bricked or some hardware problem ? Will the native samsung centre solve the issue?

I picked up my galaxy nexus the other day. I looked at my internal storage, and noticed that I had 30 GB of memory left. I thought that the 32 GB LTE version was discontinued. Anyone else recently get a GNEX and get a 32 GB LTE version recently?

2GB is used for Android OS / partition / etc...
It's like when you buy a hard drive / flash drive.... it retails as 8GB/16GB/32GB/64GB... but it's not the full size.
your phone is proper.
No.

I think the OP is saying that he expected to get a 16GB unit and wound up with a 32GB one instead
I bought mine yesterday and have 32gb of storage.

Last i checked (vz site and samsung), there is no 16gb vzw gnex. There were rumors about a white 16 back in march/april around when the droid 3 was released, but only 32 on vz.

32gb would have been nice so I could keep more than 2 roms backed up at once on my galaxy nexus plus allow for all my games, apps an music, 16 gb really doesn't go that far for me, I find myself uninstalling a lot of stuff an keeping apps an games backed up with titanium backup so I can easily get it back quickly if I need to so I have storage space.

I totally agree that I'd have liked to see a 32GB option and/or a slot for a microSDXC card, like the Galaxy SIII has. I don't want to depend on cloud storage for my music files. And I'd rather use my own music app rather than the Google Play music player. A 64GB microSDXC card in the GN would be perfect.
As it is, I bought a 64GB flash drive that I mount on my GN via USB OTG and Stickmount. Not ideal, but it works.

Would of?
What the hell does that mean?
Would've, while sounding like "would of" is in fact short for "would have"
Together the two words show timing and intent, but could be used apart:
I would buy.
I have bought.
But the same is not true of your use of the word "of."
I of bought.
Simple mistake based on tricks our ears play on us.

Well states wise, how much they would have sold, if Google had a unified launch of launch product. as i remember the release date from Verizon was foggy at best. Then they offered no way buying in the stateside besides Ebay/Amazon, till whatever exclusivity deal expired with Verizon. Then Google finally offered directly and Sprint got the phone.
I could only imgine that this phone would have sold well, if it had any amount of marketing, and unified launch besides one carrier in the states

You really think it would have sold any more units with 32GB storage? I find that hard to believe. If you choose your phone based on 16GB vs 32GB storage, and are willing to give up having a Nexus because of it, you clearly don't get it. I still have yet to understand why anyone would need that much storage.
And MicroSD sucks. Partitions and UMS are just a pain in the ass. Don't expect Google to ever use them again in a Nexus device.
Guess Google didn't expect people to pony up the extra $50 for the already limited storage. But that is a good thing. Hopefully we will see more 32gb nexus devices soon.

I have my slew of apps, a few big (250mb or so) ones, and several hundred mb of pics/wallpapers. Other than that I'm using Google Music / Pandora / TuneIn Radio for my music and I'm not one for movies.
I've still got 10.2GB available on the device.
I came from a HTC Desire so I am used to having very little storage (although I loved that people were able to figure out how to make EXT4 partitions make the phone believe it had more internal storage)... I really don't mind the 16GB, it is more than I will ever need. I only keep apps and data for them on the phone so it's not that bad... I have other devices for music/video.
And now back to your regular GALAXY NEXUS programming........

Hello guy's! I currently have the G2x but I want to change it because I have a lot of problems with it. I was wondering if the Galaxy Nexus is still a good choice because it is only 280$ (approx.) on swappa and it would fit my budget. I have no problems buying an used device. If the galaxy nexus isn't a good idea, can you guy's recommend me something else?
(PS: Is there a way I can buy a new (in the box) GNex?)
I bounce back and forth between my GNex and HTC One S (cost $300).
I like the Nexus better. Bigger screen, pure android, huge development community, removable battery... However, it is a couple years old. Have you thought about the Nexus 4. Not much more cash and definitely a better phone. I bought one for my wife as a gift. It beats the GNex in all categories and you can get an 8 gig for 300.

My main issues:
- terrible battery life: LTE really drains it
- hard to hold on to 4G reception: in many parts of LA, I notice my phone switching to 3G and back, sometimes dropping the data connection completely (this probably is Verizon's fault, though; YMMV in other areas)
- Verizon doesn't update as frequently as GSM carriers
Other than those, it's been great, but the data connection thing really kills me. I'm guessing once LTE is rolled out completely, it shouldn't be an issue anymore. That being said, I think I'm going to jump ship once the next Nexus comes out!

You'll see the huge difference of internet data usage when u start using @Olivier 's CM11 relatively.
But u should manage to gain root another way from framaroot cuz it wont work in cm11 & find a workaround to get ~16gb partition back.
