When I log into a messaging thing such as Skype there is a logo of the Skype thing in the status bar. I was wondering if there is a way to make this not appear while I'm in that app. This is not a big deal but is annoying at times. By the way I'm on a nexus 4 using jelly bean 4.2.1

Look in the app settings - it will will say hide/show icon in menu bar. Or something like that

that will hide it all the time, not what the OP asked.
as to an answer, there is none that will temporarily hide icons based on focus. its largely up to the app itself to do this(for example jet audio or Google music)

S4 status bar isn't white. It uses transparency. Which I think is exclusive to 4.2. On stock that is.

I know on some ROMs there are options to make the status bar background transparent, but is there any way to make it blur the background as well? I haven't seen anything like this for android.
