There's also a app that takes screen shots without root, forgot the name. It works on the t-989

Home + power. if you want an app then use "Screen Capture Shortcut free". it works like a charm.
It's hold power and tap home a second later

I found pressing the home button first then the power button is a little easier from a timing standpoint. I works perfectly IMO.

So, when I tap the home button first I get the task manager and pressing the power button takes a screen shot of the task manager.
If I press the power button first I get the airplane mode/ power off window and pressing home I get a screen shot of that.
Do I need to work on my timing or speed? How to get a shot of the window I want and not one of these other two things?

You can hit both of them at the same time, it usually snaps the screenshot that you want.
Most of the Roms when you hold the power button down like your going to shut it off will give you the option to take a screenshot. I am using BeastMOD II v2.5 and option is there.
My phone won't screenshot with the button combo but it is in my power menu. And yes, it has SU permission.

But if you press home first it would make you go back home.
Where as, when you press power first, there's a delay and then quickly press home to screensot. Or not you lock the phone.
LOL
Hahaha
I hate the feeling when you discover something cool then everybody knows about it lol

Hi..I installed xda premium app on my HOX..And i can't make a new topic cause i don't have menu button on the bottom of application.. Is there any update or something?
What button do you normally use to open in-app menus ?
It's weird that HTC just put in Back, Home, and Recent Apps (I use the "Menu" button all the time, why would they make that hard to find ?). Is there any way to configure those ? Do any of those buttons perform the function with a long press (my home button will do recent apps on long press) ?
Now i will show ya for example i use 24sata application..

I Googled it and found this : http://www.androidcentral.com/htcs-fix-menu-button-issue-welcome-not-very-elegant
You can set the "Recent Apps" button to function as a Menu button on long press or vice-versa.
Thank you!
Bro... button savior app is available on play store...
Try it for more keys...

Hi... In Samsung smartphones, when you press home button, it turn on the screen, right? ...okay.. But now, I wanna change that function to play music when I press the home button and pause when I press it again(with screen off) . I've been searching in Google & this forum, but can't find any method or solution . Does anyone has any idea for this? Thanks in advance...
Additional info ::: I have xposed framework installed and can skip music with volume key long press ( with screen off).. I just wanna have similar function with home key to play/pause music

There are apps that use the proximity sensor to control music controls or even unlock the phone from one. Type on proximity or something and they should pop up, I know this is not what you are looking for but could be an option for now

There are some mods which let you reprogram your home button. You should check out Xposed framework. Also, you could go for a virtual bar which emulates home, menu and back button. There is a very nice app which is called something like "dynamic app bar" in the play store. Maybe you could use that app to create a special button for music controls.
