Instant Upload for Existing - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi, is there anyway to get Instant Upload to upload my existing pictures? I just started using it as I created a google+ account yesterday. I have it enabled on CM10 (jellybro) but it doesnt upload pictures i take either :/. I have it enabled on google+ so I have no clue whats going on.

Make sure its sync is also set on in the google account associated with the phone, by default its usally off and the sync options are also usually unchecked. You can try mannually hitting the sync button on the phone to make sure its working. If you have a power widget make sure sync is also set on there.

Yeah I updated to the latest nightly and it grabs new pictures now. Do you know if there is any way to make it upload existing ones?

Go into the instant upload settings via the Google+ app, turn it on, then at the bottom of the settings window there's a prompt to upload all existing photos now.

Ah that menu wasnt there before i updated to the latest nightly. Weird haha. Worked like a charm, thanks!
Also, does it only upload from the camera photo album? Is there anyway to add another album for it to upload (whatsapp photos)

Anything that gets saved to the Gallery gets uploaded.

It looks like it only uploaded my Camera album, is there anyway to change that?

Facebook, tagging and video uploading

I am wondering if anyone has figured out how to tag people in pictures from your WP7 device before uploading to Facebook.
AND...How to upload video to Facebook from phone from album.
Thanks
Can't upload video yet, well by default. I am unsure if an app exists to help with this. Currently I have to use Zune on the PC to work with my videos.
Tagging, not sure, seems like that is a browser enhanced feature that would use silverlight, flash or js that the newest internet explorer doesn't seem to recognize.
Pretty sure you can just tap the image you are uploading to tag it. I did it on accident and I think that was how. It might have been within the actual Facebook app. Idk

That didnt work...Cant figure it out but will keep trying.
Tagging is done by either long pressing or double tapping, can't remember but I've done it before, too lazy to try now.
Make sure you're doing it in the dialogue just before actually uploading the pic, the one where you name it and such.

Tagging can be done using the fb app for the Wp7. Tap and hold for about 3 seconds on the face that u wanted to tag, then ur fb friends list would pop out. This of course is applicable to photos which have already been uploaded.

It also has a weird behavior... From my experience you need to tap for three seconds, and then let go for the name list to show itself... I thought it should have popped up regardless...

Didnt work on the focus.
Also, no go with the other recommended method.
I was able to tag photos (really hadn't tried before).
1. open the facebook app
2. click on the photo you want to tag (already has to be uploaded to facebook)
3. In the photo view, long press on the picture, you should see the bottom menu drop off, then your contacts pop up and you can click who you want to tag it to.

At some point in time you must've enabled the Instant Upload feature (and have obviously subsequently disabled it). The folder is in Picasa Web Albums, and it is non-removable from what I can see.
maybe this is different in 2.4, but you should have an option under syncing to not sync Picasa and instant upload.

i dont have picasa on my phone, iv re enabled syncing the google photos and google plus and instant upload trying to wipe the folder but its still there
it has a picasa picture on the folder but i dont have picasa installed and i cant find any settings for it
Google syncing brings Picasa to you in gallery by default. Turn off google photo's sync or edit the picasa web album
When you have the album open in Picasa Web Albums, choose Action, Delete Album - YOU WILL lose all photo's but it should then not show up.
To prevent it again in Google + turn off instant uploads

You don't need to have picasa installed on the phone for this to happen, Picasa Web Albums is online. It is where your pictures are saved when you enable Instant Upload in Google+, something which you must have enabled at some point since you have the folder.

I have been unable to get the Instant Upload album to delete, from Picasa Web Albums. It just stays there.
do you install picasa?
i got rid of it by removing my google account then adding it again and disabled goole photos from syncing then when i signed into google plus i disabled instant upload
I have different issue.
If I click on GALLERY it comes up with message "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped.
REPORT - OK
Any ideas?
Speaking of the Gallery, is there any way to order the folders/albums alphabetically? It seems like they're ordered completely randomly, which is really annoying if you have a lot of albums.

Have you disabled any apps? I disabled a pile of crap I don't use (Google+, Books, Talk, News & Weather) and I got the same. Then I re-enabled them and it worked again. Didn't get into trying them one at a time yet.
On de SGS the Gallery-app gave al lot of problems. One of them was that it used al lot of juice. Another was that it not always showed all pictures. For those reasons I installed Quickpic. It is a free app and very reliable. But let's hope that the Gallery-app is improved on ICS.

I also love Quickpic, however the auto-rotate is extremely slow half the time on the Galaxy Nexus. The phone seems to be slow w/ auto-rotate everywhere, but it's even worse in Quickpic.

Have you tried clearing the gallery cache/date from app manager after you disabled google+? I bet they become linked upon initial start of gallery.
Yeah, that was the first thing I looked at.
Actually, now that I think about it, I did a settings wipe through titanium backup, but not a cache wipe through app manager.
Hmm. Let me try that.
Edit: Nope, looks like google+ physically has to be present. Silly.
Stupid picasa

Another weird thing with the gallery. When looking at the details of some images (transferred over from PC/Mac) I get a time of Jan 1, 1970. Normaly taken pictures, screenshots and those send from another phone through bluetooth have the proper time shown.
a problem I have sometimes is I get grey boxes instead of pictures
Just poke and hold on the gallery folder then hit the delete button. Problem solved?

How the heck do you just view pictures on the actual phone (as opposed to cloud)

I tried to look for a permanant setting for the Gallery to just show pics on the phone itself but it keeps reverting to "ALL" view where it shows my picassa / dropbox. Thank you!

I found the answer myself lol. You need to go in to Cloud in settings and then disable Dropbox sync to gallery.
Now i just have to figure out how to NOT SHOW picassa images

Settings>Google>'Your E-mail here'>Picasa
I don't know if it actually works since i don't use Picasa. but it's worth a shot.
My Sync Internet doesn't seem to sync
desont seem to work ;(
I managed to do it with an app called QuickPic and some adjustments in the settings!
After downloading Quickpic, you go to Settings>S Cloud. There, as the first screenshot shows you disable pics and video sync. (I belive you did that already.)
Then, you go to Settings >Google then you select your mail address and you'll have the options as you can see on the second screenshot. Untick picassa and google photos.
Now it is possible you still see some of your cloud pics on your device. I'm pretty sure you can't delete some of them with the stock galery app. So use Quickpic to delete them.
Hope it helped

Make sure the synching for the Picasa albums is still off, then go into Settings > Application manager. Select the All tab, find Gallery and hit the Clear data button. Next time you open the Gallery, it will take a moment to rebuild it but the Picasa albums should finally be gone.

That's the symbol for your Picasa Web album. It's most likely synced under accounts>google. All of those pics are saved in your Google Picasa account.

If you have a Google account then you automatically have a Picasa account. They are linked together. Are you using Google +?

I believe you clear data for Gallery and make sure that Picasa sync is unchecked in your Google Account settings and that gets rid of it. I've done it myself, it doesn't delete pictures only that Picasa album
Edit: You can disable Gallery first too if you want, it might be better. I don't think I did

[Q] Automatic upload of photos to Google Drive / Dropbox

Hi
Can anyone help me set the phone to automatically upload photos to google drive? If this isn't possible perhaps dropbox seems the phone seems more dropbox friendly.
I can't see any options for google drive.
I can add a dropbox account and tick to use it with gallery but all this seems to do is give me the option to manually upload photos.
I found in the LG Cloud app that you can set it to automatically upload and it does work but it doesn't notify you at all that the photos are uploading and well I would much prefer google.
Also what is LG Home Cloud?
Thanks!

On all my phones, I use DropSync from the play store, which has an instant upload features which works really well. Compared to the Dropbox app itself, you can choose which folder you sync, you have a lot more settings to control the sync, etc. Really nice app. Works only for Dropbox though.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ttxapps.dropsync&hl=en
(PS: I don't have the G3 yet, but I can't see why it wouldn't work with it)
For dropbox you can use the official app to automatically instant upload any photos you take to dropbox. There's a setting in the app somewhere to do that.
As for Google drive, you can't do it by default. You can use the official apps to upload any pictures you take to Google+, but annoying you can't use it to upload them to Drive. I use an app called CloudVault to automatically upload my photos to a specified folder on my Drive. It works just as well as the Dropbox app does, so far at least.

I tired a few different apps to get photos uploaded, and this seems the best of the lot. To be honest I actually had to go through my app list to find it so that I could tell you the name. It works so well that I had installed it, set it up and then forgotten about it!
