Rom Arc S - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I tried to find information about it, but i have not found.
I read somewhere that I can install only the rom based on the original firmware in my Xperia Arc S (LT18i), so I do not think i can do what I have in mind.
I would like to install a CM9 (or CM10 as soon as possible). Can i install a CM9 anzu (LT15i) on my device?
Thanks

Ofcourse!

There isn't any particular process or way to flash an anzu rom?

In fact there is. You should first flash a compatible kernel with fastboot or flashtool, and then the Rom itself. Sad, but true.

[Q] Install first a mod Kernel or a coocked ROM - Kitchen or The Egg

First of all I apologize for the noob question but I spent more than 24h reading this forum and I wasn't be able to find a clear answer to my question.
I come from other devices (HTC and Samsung). All of them was unrouted and fixed up the bootloader, simply by myself...
Yesterday I went crazy and I bought a new ArcS (LT18s)...
Good price, good quality, why not!
Actually my ArcS is:
system Root using DooMLoRD - Easy Rooting Toolkit
unlocked the bootloader using the follow procedure http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions
recovered after a OTA upgrade (Yes I'm an idiot, don't say a word)
i need to know if:
With a ROM (ex DooMLoRD - ICS Alpha or a doomed151 - Arconium) is included the Kernel or not?
and:
What kind of system i must follow to upgrade?
Thanks a lot
Perhaps I solved. Like a noob I haven't read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330314 is correct also if the device is LT15???
Better flash a LT18 firmware.
And for Arconium ROM DooMKernel is recommended.

Thank you. This was my idea but I preferred to ask questions!
But...
I want to install this kernel:
[KERNEL][ARC/ARC S] Advanced Stock (with Recovery) [Rel:v01][Dt:1/JAN][FW:.42/58/62]
and under
[ requirements ]
stock SE 4.0.2.A.0.42/.58/.62 FW
This is the reason of my initial question:
Kitchen or The Egg
'Cos I've 4.0.1.A.0.266 build

Custom kernel on locked bootloader

Hello world,
I want to install this custom rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836993)
The problem is that i'm running the official 2.4.3 android version from sony. They still haven't released the update to ICS for my country
My bootloader is locked and i'm unable to unlock it without paying (Bootloader unlock allowed: No)
Is it possible that i install any custom kernels? Or can i maunally update to ICS, and get the stock ICS kernel? I would install the custom rom with the stock ICS kernel.
I would be thankful if you send me a link for downloading the official ICS and its kernel.
My phone is the Xperia Arc S (LT18i)
Thanks!
No unlocked bootloader, no custom kernel.

Yes, if it is fully stock and officially signed kernel.
That is - you can only flash that kernel via Flashtool .FTF file.
No other way.

No - ICS on the 2011 Xperia line-up is worthless and not worth it.

If you do want to give ICS a try, flash tool is the first link. The second link is ftf file for LT18i. (The kernel is embedded in to the ftf file). Flash tool is very simple and walks you through the steps.

You should try looking in stickies first. Then use the search tool to find, because there are lots of such topics.

Arc S is 'ayame', Arc is 'anzu'. Though depending on what you are looking for, certain Arc firmwares are also designed to work on Arc S (mainly CyanogenMod and that based ROMs).

I think I'm gonna flash Legacy Xperia CM 10.1 and there is only anzu version in their website, so I should flash it.
http://legacyxperia.basketbuild.com/index.php?dir=main/cm10.1/
And these are the steps:
1. Bootloader unlock
2. Fastboot flash boot boot.img from the rom thread
3. Flash Rom then gapps with CWM recovery
4. Wipes
right?

Do the wipes after using "fastboot flash boot boot.img", but before flashing ROM and Gapps.

[Q] Miui on Xperia Arc LT15i

Hi all,
I have eased MiUi roms earlier on GB and ICS. Even a few days back I have used diff versions of MiUi V5 as well but switched to another roms in due course. Now I am trying to switch back to MiUi but i am not able to flash it.
I am doing the following:
1) Since I am on other custom roms,I will flash .587 LT15I ftf pack.Boot it, set it up, wait for a while to let thing settle up.
2) Flash the 3.4.X Kernel or Fusion 5.5 Kernel
3) Flash the MiUi V5 3.8.16 or 3.8.30 Rom.
All goes well with the installation and after rebooting, the phone is stopping at Miui Screen ( the Black PDA Team screen on the Max works roms).
I waited for quite sometime hoping it will enter the settings screen but no luck.
Any idea where I am missing?

As he said, flash LT18i FTF file instead of LT15i FTF. Arc and Arc S have slightly different partition layouts, first being the cause for some problems.

Done that too earlier..I could flash the rom and everything works fine for sometime and then it starts hanging, mostly after 3-4 hrs. The screen takes a lot of time to respond.Apps will not respond fast. This was not the case earlier. This problem I have noticed after using the KitKat roms but not sure if that can be any reason.
Any suggestions, on the best way and the the best version of MiUi V5 I can use? I love MiUi.

Firstly, don't ask for the "best version of MIUI".
Secondly, there's only one MIUI port based off CM10 here which can be found in the developer forums.
