Some simple tips to get the best of your battery life :
Disable auto sync for accounts
Disable GPS (and wifi gps)
Disable auto backup of Gmail account
Set wifi sleep policy to "Never"
Set brightness level to automatic
Disable motion
Check your apps settings and disable useless background sync
Disable useless animations

- 4 way reboot menu only works from drop down menu Restart button (physical power button does not prompt it - only says Press OK to Reboot)
- No ring tones
Otherwise nice job! Will test out battery through out the day.

Ringtones are there. 4 way reboot is working from pulldown menu, but not when pressing the power button. This is what I meant by "Reboot Recovery= OK, Reboot Download = OK, Reboot= OK (It would be nice to have extended power menu though)"

For all the people who like PA Bugless Beast ROMs I'm posting here a modification of his ICS ROM with a personal choice of mods I like and use.
I chose Bugless Beast as base ROM because in my personal opinion is the cleanest, and least modified AOSP so I can add my preferences change.

MMS have been modified by Pete for the next release. I can't really test them since here in Mexico the MMS servers have different configuration.
Also there is much more improvements in speed and memory use.

Note, there is no APM, but thanks to Whitehawkx, you can go to the reboot option in the status bar and choose what kind of reboot you want. Again, all credit goes to Whitehawkx for that and the entire extended quick settings code port, originally from Lidroid.

Instructions:
1) Place ROM on internal or external SD, doesn’t matter which one
2) Boot into recovery
3) Factory/data reset
4) Install zip
5) Wipe Dalvik-cache, fix permissions
6) Reboot
7) Wait 10 minutes for resources to settle- don’t touch your phone
8) Reboot phone
9) Go into settings, applications, development, enable USB debugging
10) Done.
I understand you may not like the ROM, but I have put over 40 hours of work into it so, feel free to voice your concern, just be respectful to me and other forum members
Also, if you want to use a CPU controller, I recommend CPU Tuner! It works the best for this ROM.

I am looking at modifying the files that communicate with your data/calendar to see what I can do. That is a project that hasn't really been dealt with intensively yet. I just saw them in the services.jar and it grabbed my interest.

@fergie, I will get in contact with ibot and let them know.. we'll miss ya.. one last quick question... the kernel issue, you think it was an issue with the kernel itself or was there a step messed up? just seein if i could save some time rather than havin to figure it out the hard way
as far as tweaks go it will have just about the same tweaks as fergies, i'll work on andys advanced settings tomorrow... i've done a lot of work today between this and provision so i'm takin the rest of the night off

OK sounds good. The kernel issue may be any number of thinhs. For now you can just skip anything to do with boot.img and it's components (/system/modules, /system/lib/modules) and just advise users to flash a kernel of their preference after 1st boot.

Thanks man , You can use fergies apktool mod he posted or the one I posted in chef central just grab the latest aapt from sdk and you should be good to go

yup thats what i have been trying. aapt does seem to be the problem, so Ill try to find a new one. Im about half way though my first port, and apktool has been kinda inconsistent to say the least, but I'm gonna keep trying. thanks again!

Some simple tips to get the best of your battery life :
Disable auto sync for accounts
Disable GPS (and wifi gps)
Disable auto backup of Gmail account

Hey Wanam does the stock toggles and battery zip still have the ability to edit/reorder the toggles or is it the stock stock version with no modifications done to it?

Are you running the systemui.apk thats included with the modded battery or the systemui provided that has the stock battery and toggles in it? The round battery is something I'm not a big fan of...
I get mines tomorrow, so I can't test now to see...I'm just asking because I'm trying to set up what I need to get my SGS3 up to speed once I get it....busy day on Friday, so I'm checking from now.....

Its been almost an hour, and Im still only at 36% downloaded...
Not sure what the issue is, but just wondering would a Download this slow be damaged in transit and not work right, because of the scattered
information being sent?

I got myself deodexed today and have put in the mod and it's all working great (well, the bits I care about, which is CRT-off and ink effect at the same time)
Noticed a small bug though - even with ink enabled, the settings screen still says that's it's None (go into the colour selection and the selected colour is still selected there, and the ink effect IS actually working, but it's still saying none in the summary.
No big deal, just reporting the issue.
(I doubt it makes a difference, but i'm running 1.8.4, not 1.8.3 of Siyah)
