I am really impressed with how stable the galaxy nexus is. I'm currently at 101+ hours of uptime while my phone remains smooth as silk. What are some of your numbers?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Somebody on here already posted something like this. he went 41 days without reboot. It was still smooth but MMS would force close so he had to reboot.

Well, that was pre-jellybean. I didn't see another thread like this so sorry if I'm being redundant. I just wanted to get some numbers from others and see what kinds of uptimes we are getting.
What are you at?

I'm at two hours.

I go about 400-500 hours a lot. But I hit those numbers on my nexus one too. The gnex is rock solid stable and android really has matured.

Hi guys.
First I need to say that my phone is new. (1 week)
My battery drops so fast when i using it. When I dont its quite good actually. Today i flashed my phone and right now Im using Darkside ICS beta5.
My battery drops %5 in 11-12 minutes while I use 3G Internet browsing. Both of stock and darkside are quite same while doing this.
I lost %18 in 96 minutes. Screen on for 52 minutes. Web 15 minutes via 3G. Phone call 15 minutes.
My screen brigtness is at %20-25 scala.
My question is that "are my values normal?"
Man that seems a bit quick. You might want to look into calibrating the battery and if nothing else, ask t-mo to send you a new one.

*sigh* NOBODY can tell you how YOUR battery life will be like. Its just not even worth asking. Nobody uses the phone the same way you do. Besides the fact that there are like 5 different threads asking the same question in different formats.

I would suggest don't trade off, just wait for some days, S3 will have a nice JB port. Battery life of S3 is way better than Nexus.

I understand but you have to realize people use their phone differently. I don't notice any difference I still pull 5 hours of display over 16 hours overall on WiFi. And about 2.5 on sucky 3G.

what phone should I get? I was thinking about the Galaxy Nexus or the S3. and the new Photon 4 G L T E is definitely out of the question since they lock that down tight! I'm kind of leaning towards S3. I would like to get to peoples thoughts and opinions on this before I make the decision. since I don't have any of these phones.

actually I have two upgrades available, 1 now and 1 in about 45 days, I'm kinda nervous about getting the Nexus because I've heard of receiving issues for the antenna, S3 seems like the safest bet.

I saw the gnexus as better option and ordered one from eBay.

No. I can personally attest to the fact that the GPS on the S3 is very, very good. I don't know what you mean by the surf antenna, but I do know that it utilizes GLONASS. Locks consistently in under 3 seconds, accuracy within 6 feet most of the time.

I have a couple co workers that have the s3, one on Verizon and one on Sprint and its pretty damn awesome. We travel for work so I had the one who has Sprint use GPS and it seems to work great along with great battery life on a bigger better screen. And he gets faster download speeds too. I'm personally holding out for the next Nexus which should be here this fall hopefully or close to the holidays, but you have another upgrade coming so you are good. One good thing to do is just go to the store and play with them as long as you want then maybe wait a day or two, to be sure.

well everytime i turn off my phone and turn it on it takes around 1-2 hours to get data again, i went to a sprint booth yesterday and the guy that sold me my gnex told me it was normal for this to happen but that he heard that there was a way to make the gnex lock to 3g data faster, i was wondering if that way was to use the sprint diagnostic app thats posted around here somewhere
thanks in advance
seems to me that sprint guy is bull****tin you.

Well so far it seems that this afternoon the problem solved by itself, i rebooted a couple of times and now it takea around 10 seconds or less for me to get data oh and the phone's one week old today ;d

I'll give it a couple of days, if it loses data like that again i'll go to the store and not to a crappy booth lol. Thanks guys

My note (for awhile now) has been getting disgusting battery life. When i 1st got the phone i was getting awesome battery life. But for a few months now i have now (the battery life in the picture is what i normally get)
I know its not the rom as i have tried Clean Rom 5.0 which is 4.1.2. Ive tried Illusion 4.2.2 and now im on BeanStalk 4.3
All the roms give me the same battery life.
Here in the picture my phone was literately in my pocket the whole time. pretty much 0% usage from me.
is there anyway to see what in the "Android OS" is using so much battery?
Of course ...the subject of battery life is highly subjective ...but I'll have a go at it...
Given the statement that your battery life remains virtually the same across multiple platforms ...it leads me to believe the device itself may have an issue ...in particular the battery...
Are you using the original OEM battery ?? If yes ...it may be nearing end of life..or could suffer from cell damage for some reason...
First I'd try a replacement and test your battery life then...
But remember ...any true test needs a benchmark ...so choose a stock or near stock rom that we know about regarding performance etc...
Next ...eliminate any applications that are not absolutely necessary to use your phone ...and avoid Widgets along with live wallpapers...
Then....verify that you are in a good coverage area to the extent possible ...as the phone will "hunt" for signal and consume more power...
All things considered ...the battery is still the likely suspect...
I use a zero lemon battery ...since my stock battery just couldn't keep up any more ...and suffered greatly after about 5 months of heavy abuse by my flashing addiction...
Leave a good stock rom running for at least a week to stabilize the OS...and if battery life suffers ...replace it with a new one ...
Sorry that my reply is not more definative ...but battery drain issues are hard to diagnose without holding the phone in my hand....g

Os is definitely eating away. Download wakelock detector from the play store. Go into settings check advanced so u can see system wakelocks not just downloaded apps. Report back with a screen shot of the Wakelock detector tomorrow and I'm sure someone here can guide u in the right direction.....as long as it's not the battery. To me it just looks like u have a VERY nasty wakelock somewhere.
Just my opinion though

First thing when u open the app.... ur seeing apps and on the right is the awake time for each one. As long as u have advanced options checked in settings it will show what is keeping ur cpu awake. So as soon a as u open the app. Take a SS so we can see the system processes and the time awake for them. Just as soon as ur apps come up. Take a SS and post it

Ok. Ya. Usually my system processes are on top. Most awake time is Google services. That's how mine was. Except mine was awake for almost an hour and a half per charge cycle and wasnt even draining that bad. Try turning off Google services in location services in system settings for a day and see if battery life improves at all
