So I've started using Llama quite recently- and at the moment I'm trying to setup an event where the profile changes to ''No sound/Vibrate'' when I plugin headphone. This is working perfectly for when I'm at home::: i.e. if profile was 'loud' prior to plugging in the headphones, it would switch back to 'loud' once I'm done listening to music and unplug my headphones.
So what I've done in Llama is:
Between 08.00 and 00.00 at home: change profile to loud <<<< as you can see this event makes sure that the profile stays 'loud' at home during these hours of the day. (I have another event where profile changes to Vibrate between 00.00 and 08.00)
For the headphone: When wired headset is connected: change profile to Vibrate.
And these are both working accordingly-- so if I happen to plugin my headphones between 08.00 and 00.00 at home, profile changes to vibrate; and then changes back to loud once theyre plugged off.
However, problem is I'm not being able to do the same for the times when I'm NOT at home (i.e. outside)::: profile doesnt make the switch back to loud when I unplug headset. What I mean is: How do I setup an event that would do the same as above for when I'm out and about anywhere anytime (where Llama doesn't recognise the location) ??
ps- I know what I'm doing wrong here- since I don't have a defined profile event for outdoors, profile is staying at vibrate even after unplugging headphones ( so it's got nothing to switch back to ( ? ) )... I just dont know what to do to fix this :/
I am loving this app to bits though with its capabilities Just need to solve this one little problem and all shall be perfect Any help would be much appreciated :good:

You need to set up your home location. So you can add a condition when not in area "home".

Thanks a lot!!! Silly me- totally missed the 'not in area' condition lol. So now I got: when headset disconnected && when not at home - change profile to loud. Working like a charm now.

Please help me out I'm incredibly frustrated with this thing. I recently got the PDA2k and installed WM05 on it. It looks very nice and it runs speedy with no problems. My problem is the bluetooth which is huge thing to me. Either my headset (Tekkeon Eztalker Mini) is not compatible which I doubt or I'm making a stupid mistake.
This is what I did step by step: I click on the bluetooth icon and turn on the bluetooth, I then put my headset in pairing mode and the imate is able to recognize it and I enter the Pw and I put Set as handsfree. That's it, I would think I would be done at this point yet nothing happens, the headset doesn't do anything and I know its not Tekkeons fault because I was able to hook it up easily with my HP 6315.
So what's going what am I missing?
Also theres a tab at the bottom called "Com Ports" but I only see under this option "Incoming Port", and the description at the top says there should be another option called "New outgoing port". Does this have anything to do with it?
What Am i doing wrong? It's driving me crazy I can't really use the phone without the headset.
help me out pls
Bluetooth
I know the feeling, i have gone back to 2003 cause of that but now i am back on wm5. The bluetooth issue is not fixed yet, it is not stable, it keeps going off. There is a suspend cab file, but it does not work for me yet, also try pokect zen beta. You might get a longer period of bluetooth
thanks for responding, but the problem is not that it suspends or stops working. It doesn't start working at all even though the imate detects it. It's like it's not connected at all, not that it disconnects. I'm doing something wrong I just don't know what.
The bluetooth piece is not faulty and the unit is practically brand new. whats going on?
I used "Display Switch" binded button (From Wisbar Advance 2) or "Toggle Screen" (From SPB Pocket Plus) to turn off the backlight instead of using power button .
This work around will keep bt connection alive.
Note:
1. If you suspend your BA using psShutXP your bt connection .
2. You have to disable auto turn off device under Start -> Setting -> Power
Note:
1. If you suspend your BA using psShutXP your bt connection will be disconnected.
I'm sorry I'm not sure I'm explaining myself correctly. I understand that if the power goes off I will lose the BT connection but the problem is not KEEPING the connection alive, the problem is MAKING the connection. I follow all the steps , the imate recognized the headset but I'm not able to use it..also shouldn't a headset picture show up at the top of the screen when the bt headset is connected (cuz mine doesnt). what am i doing wrong?
thanks.
still need help please.. if someone can walk me through how to setup a bluetooth connection that would be great cuz I apparently haven't done it right.
The headset icon only shows in Phone app
The headset icon only shows up in the Phone application. It no longer is displayed in the notification area (top row).
If your device is paired up, when you make a call, you will see the headset icon in the top right corner.
You may also need to clear any old pairings that you headset has. I have a Jabra 250 and it happens all the time.
there we go you have solved my problem!. I didnt' have to open up the phone application on my hp 6315 to use the bt. So wait can I listen to music with windows media player through the bt headset or does it only work when making phone calls? I was able to listen to music on the HP 6315, is it different with the Imate or is it the NEW 05 os? Please enlighten me
thank you thank you
also one other thing does this mean that if i want to use the headset with the phone that I have to press the answer button on the imate rather than the headset..cuz that would suck big time.
what about when people call me can i answer with the answer button of the bt headset or no?
It works fine with the headset button for answering or hanging up.
Later.......... 8)

Afternoon all. As with most of us I use the Desire as an integrated MP3/SatNav etc while on the road. The problem I'm having while listening to music via a bluetooth headset is an irritating series of beeps every time the phone loses signal - quite a common occurrence when in a rural area - and I'd like to turn off the audible notification. Can't see anything in settings though, any suggestions as to how to do this?
Also been noticing that when using CoPilot the first half of the voice prompt is missed, almost like its taking half a second or so to engage with the bluetooth. Is this common with all wireless head sets or just the cheap "Clip" unit I'm currently using?

I can confirm that I also have this, the instruction will be played fully by the speakers on the phone but only get half the instruction (at times) via the Bluetooth Headset although sometimes you get the full instruction through it...
Not sure if helps... I realised the phone volume and media volume are separate! If you put the phone on silent - you can still listen to media such as music and videos. Maybe you could silence the phone (and get rid of that beep) but still enjoy your music.
Just an idea to try...
By the way - the above can be annoying if you need your phone quiet but accidentally turn on any media.... lol!
Ah well, I'd hoped it was the cheap head set but obviously not.
Just created this thread to find out what kind of car setups do you guys have with your Galaxy Nexus?
I just created mine using NFC, BT and Tasker to send all music and calls to car stereo when I enter the car, read out sms while driving, turn up backlight during daytime etc and then go back to previous state when I exit.
Details here: My Android NFC BT Car Audio Setup
What have you done to pimp up your car with your beloved GN?
I have a 3.5mm audio in jack for aux, I purchased a XtremeMac InCharge BT for wireless music. No special "read text aloud" apps or anything, I just try not to text in the car.

I have a Parrot MKI9200. I get in the car, it connects and I drive off. No point in turning BT off (very low power in standby) and you can do the other stuff with a BT on-connect event in Tasker. Don't generally bother, TBH. Lazy, me

Interesting. Right now I just keep Bluetooth on always, and then manually open the Pandora app (for music) when I'm in the car (built-in BT stereo). Leaving the car, it turns off automatically. Eventually I'm going to set up Delayed Lock to turn off lock screen while connected to BT.

I wanted to go that route too earlier but I connect to other BT devices as well through the day . Hope Tasker adds rules for specific devices soon.

Do try out tasker along with secure settings plugin. You will pay just a little bit more but acquire this and lot more functionality.
I'm using a Kinivo BTC8 bluetooth to fm
With the OEM car dock.
NFC key-chain and NFC Task Launcher to change my settings
Works great for music, calls, navigation, etc

Doesn't Tasker already do this? When I select a context for "Bluetooth Connected," it opens a dialog where I can choose the name or address of the Bluetooth advice from a list of devices I've paired with. I choose to pair with my Parrot device, and it's always worked for me.
I should admit that I very rarely pair with any other device, so I might not notice whether Tasker is only responding to the fact of the Bluetooth connection, rather than the specific device. But if that's the case, why provide an option for you to select the specific device?

Ah thanks for letting me know about this. I had tried this very long back when Tasker had just been released and didn't think of seeing again if it had been changed. Will try this.
Hi all,
I've finally received my FP1 and started to familiarise myself with the device. I already noticed some problems I'm going to report here, and afterwards to Fairphone support. (And I hope you are ok with that sequence!)
1) Screen glitches when playback stops.
I tried out to stream music from a Synology NAS, using the app DS-Audio provided by Synology. Whenever playback stops, the lock screen freaks out and gives graphics glitches. It looks like it's trying to show something, and not succeeding. Can anyone confirm this, and point me to a solution? (Minor priority)
2) BT pairing with a Motorola S805 stereo headset does not work.
When I pair the FP1 with the headset, the system reports sucess. However, nothing works. Sound is still played back via the Fairphone's speakers. I deleted the headset from the pairing list, rebooted, re-paired - to no avail. The headset works fine when paired as headphone (i.e. as pure audio sink), including controls (play/pause/skip, volume) with several other computers and handhelds. Also works as sink/source (e.g. for skype calls, including controls) when paired as headset (which I rarely did).
Any suggestions? (High priority, at least for me...)
The case does not allow audio jacks to connect, getting it OUT of the case every time you need a headset/headphone is tedious.
3) When turned off, alarm is not played.
3.1) I used the power schedule to power off the Fairphone and power it on the next morning. I also have an alarm programmed, but it's later than the power on. My device boots, but awaits pin entry for decryption and will not ring the alarm. Alarm is also not rang afterwards.
3.2) I turned off the phone manually. It did not turn on and rang the alarm at a set time.
(High priority!)
Might this be an encryption problem?
If so, can I change this without turning off encryption (and, if not, do I have to reset my FP)?
It was a major YAY for FP, if I remember correctly - and now it's br0ken.

Same here. I don't have a solution other than just ignoring it I have this glitches also when I do not stream something.

I do not understand if 3.2) works or does not work. It reads for me as 3.1) the alarm does not ring but in 3.2) it does.
If so I suspect that the sim-pin-input supresses the alarm (and other activities of the phone). So what you can try is setting the boot AFTER the alarm. Or not using a pin lock for the sim (might not be a feasable solution for you).
clarification: alarm not working when phone turned off

Sorry, should have been more clear: if the phone is turned off, I've got no alarms. Neither with a power-on scheduled before or after the alarm.
Hey, this was meant to be a real cool feature. Drat.

SIM pin is turned of. System encryption is turned on, this needs a device-lock via a (custom) pin or a password. I chose the latter option. I don't want to reset my phone and turn off the encryption. The SIM is prepaid - so if it's stolen, not much harm can be done.
If the phone gets stolen, however, I want nosy people to be locked out. (Suspecting android encryption is quite hackable.)

Encryption makes the scheduled on function of very limited use - the device will wait for the passcode required to decrypt the device before doing anything else. It makes a frequent clicking sound after a while if no input is given.
I can confirm that in Fairphone OS 1.1 the phone will not switch on and sound the alarm if the device is encrypted. I've not tried on an encrypted device (don't have one) nor on Fairphone OS 1.0.
If you want to use the alarm clock, you will need to keep the device on (but it can be locked). I'm using llama to automate some profile switching - one of whitch is to turn off a lot of features and set a silent profile when I'm home at night.
There are some reports around the net of issue where a phone would randomly reboot during the night (and then get stuck on the decryption password prompt - which means the alarm will not sound). I've luckily not experienced this on the fairphone.
Hello,
It seems that I have a bug or something I don't manage to set.
When I plug my earphone, smart connect launch walkman ("home listning" as I don't have microphone on my earphone), and everything is great.
But if the alarm have to ring, it ring in the earphone (I want that ) but it ring on the phone speaker too.
-- edit --
New try : I disable Smart Connect and don't launch walkman , plug my earphone and wait for the alarm. It ring in the earphone and on the phone speaker
-- end edit
I'm in 14.4.A.0.108, try to repair the phone with PC Companion and nothing work (the bug is present since I have the phone in earlier system version). I did all my test with a rooted phone but bootlocked.
Am I the only one with this issue? Is it a bug or a bad setting?
Ty for your answers
the alarms are supposed to ring on all speakers at all times, so no, don't say its bug. its working as it should be.
I agree, I'd consider it broken if it only used the headphones. There could be an option of course, but since (or of) there's none, this is expected behaviour.

I think it's not the expected behavior as if I put headphones, it's to avoid bothering other people (for example in train, in public place or at home).
alright, what if u are home listening music, fall asleep, headphones fall off your ears and you miss the alarm because it played on headphones only.
its working as it should.

It's the headphones who doesn't work as it should if they fall
I sleep every day in train with headphones and they don't move but every day when it ring I bother other people in train... Don't work as it should.
