Hi everyone,
I'm using this mobile as Hot spot only, I would like to know the best battery saving Custom ROM that I can use to run as much as possible without charging. Please provide me with highest number of Battery life time .
Thank you all
Evolution - x. It is highly under volted and stripped off all unnecessary stuff. You can do this to every rom but needs some time and knowledge. Better install it right away

Guys am almost flashing 1 or 2 roms daily, till date i experinced with 7 r 8 roms..but none of them satisfied me...some ROM had problem with the basic things like camera, camcoder and other things, some other ROMs lack in battery usage...
So can someone sheds some light on this part...
As long as you're on a new stable ROM such as ICS you're battery should be fine. JB is too early to know really but it's fantastic for me. So, assuming you're now on a stable ROM (a non Sense ROM would be better too) the problem is either your battery or you. I would recommend getting a new battery if you still have the 2 year old one the phone came with, and tbh I'd recommend getting a new Ankers 1600 mAh anyway as they're fantastic, lasts me days.
Now that you're on stable ROM and have a shiny new battery, if you're battery life is still bad then the latter problem I mentioned applies, that is, you, or rather how you are using the phone.
If, like many other Vision users I see around the forums, you are overclocked to absurd speeds well over 1GHz running the performance governor then have I got news for you of course your battery life is going to be terrible. For this reason, tbh you really don't need to go over stock clock speed and if you use the Virtuous OC daemon then you can under clock significantly when the screen is off, this saves enormous amounts of battery life.
Also if you are using the phone constantly and have the screen very bright, data on all the time etc., then you've got to accept that you simply won't last more than a day between charges.
By the way I'm not going to recommend a specific ROM because as you should know "what ROM should I get" threads are not allowed, I just wanted to give you some general battery help.
Hope this helps

Am using this ROM : [Flinny] Andromadus Test builds - CM10.1[17]
and my phone is just 40 days old... so the battery will be fine abvsly... then i wont over clock it more than 850 mhz, so it satays under stock freq. then i will be using the mobile in half brightness,, i used to hear songs nd play games lil bit... even though my battery last for jus 12-15 hrs... thats y i doubt on the ROM, but am not sure ...
lately i have expereiced that aosp battery life is not better
stock rom has way better i had like 11 hours screen time with very little wifi and gps usage
please i have been flashing aosp and tochwiz roms lately and even kernels but iam not able to get required normal attery life
please share ur battery life tips and the rom and kernel ur using with
there should be a general thread about battery life tips what i noticed that note 2 might be the phone with custom roms worse battery life compared to stock
ive used greenify and just use my phone for chrome messages and call
please share good stasts and tips
there should be rom reviews by users about battery and stuff so people can know, its too much time consuming trying every rom and setting it up and in the end replaccing it
please its a request to all users
help other community members thanks
I've been using greenify and rescan media root for a while and I can notice the difference in battery life.

Battery life is normally driven by your kernel. However, chips are mass manufactured and as such are not identical. So what works well for me and my chip may not be brilliant for you.
Imo the only thing you can safely compare, regarding battery life, between two handsets is screen off time. The best I've experienced is 1% drain per hour. to get that I use jedix20 rom with the built in saber kernel.

Yes AOSP has weaker battery life.... just use 4.1.2 ROM for now, and wait for official 4.3

anyways ok sir i get ur point but atleast an average battery life stats post for everyrom in the market would really help alot
i still have no idea what they mean by great battery life good battery life etc
well my time on desire hd it was quite easy aosp roms had bettery battery then stock rom even and there were was time that it was a small phone would notice battery life in about 5-6 hours
what i wanted to ask was that if yr using aosp pls share ur stats on a dynamic thread with rom detail ive used searches several times but still no avil of info i need people/users should share mare info to the developers to the people so that it would make easy development
well basically what i noticed there are likke 50000 vies and blah blah stuff more then thousands of download and only 5-10 commetns in the bug and review section

No that drain is with screen off.
I understand your desire to get a 'league table' of roms/kernels to compare loss etc. However, I've seen people in these threads turn all power sappers off like wifi, mobile etc then leave the screen on on a dark picture just so they can say they've had 2 days of screen on time.
Would that really be real life use and helpful to anyone?
I play asphalt 8 and when I do my battery drains super quick maybe more than 20% an hour. Yet if I'm only Web surfing that 20% would last maybe 5 times longer. So how could you successfully compare that kind of usage?
That's why I think the only real safe comparison is to compare standby time with the screen off. Btw i leave my wifi permanently on.

and really lot of Apps about 80 in total
Getting about 30 hours + 5 hour screen time + 1 hour Voice calls on 2G
Can get pretty must 24+5hr scr with 3G too
But my main concern is , It does'nt handles the Radio very well , While Signal fluctuates or I'm on the move, battery drain is heavy , When i'm in good reception area without much movement then it does well. I don't know why. Sammy handles this much much better may'be the issue is with Radio/sensors/GPS drivers.
Hi there, I'm using CM11 nighties and it miss some things yet (due to development process tough) but it's the best ROM I tried so far. So here is my concern there is any tips/guide for optimize my phone Galaxy Nexus in order to get best perfomance and less battery drain? I tried to flash Mpokang Kernel but without success since I get a boot loop or my phone doesn't start so any guide or tips for saving battery time and get the best performance on this phone?

Try ASKP kernel. I think its the best. Also, many people recommend Fancy kernel too
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you want performance you should flash mpokang. I recommend 1080p version, I don't have any issues with it. If you want battery life you can flash Tiny kernel, it has good performance too but it is slower than mpokang. I used fancy some weeks ago but with different rom (Paranoid) and previous version of kernel. Now I have official CM 11 and mpokang 1080p.

There is nothing much to do other than making sure your apps behave, stay in areas with good phone signal (and use airplane mode when there isn't signal), don't use high brightness.
Toggle wifi off and gps off when not in use. If you have a verizon GN, then toggle off LTE and use 3g only when you have low data needs. Unfortunately, this phone sucks battery down like no other.
Hey guys, been trying a few roms lately and haven't settled on which rom offers the best battery life. I'm looking for one using the 1.40 firmware. Thanks tons
it's all dependant on your usage, you're kernel and how you've set it up.
One person may have great battery life with one rom and another person with the same rom may have awful battery life.
However i myself have only used Viper as im still new with htc but its worked great for me. I use my phone mainly for internet usage (Email, facebook, messenger, browsing, streaming, music) and from full charge its lasted me 1D 12H 6M with 20% left with moderate usage. Heavy usage I imagine it would get me to through a full day easily and then just charge overnight.

As the previous user has said it depends on a few things.
Your needs
Your usage
Your apps
Your demands
Your habits
Your mods
Your preferences and settings.
Once you have all these, you'll probably find that most ROMs perform quite similar to each other.
Once you've tweaked one ROM perform your tweaks on all of them, only you will know..a vs battle between ROMs is impossible for anyone to tell you, you have to see for yourself, kind of like the matrix.

I have no scientific evidence, but generally when running a custom ROM I get better battery life for a bit, but eventually google takes over and ruins battery life. I use a iphone 6 for work which I despise using, but the standby on that thing is fantastic without doing anything. My iphone 6 if I don't use it, which i rarely do lasts three days. I can go a full day of work without touching my Samsung s6 and by the time I go home 30% left, when I look at stats, google is the main battery drain, my guess is the metal building I am in blocks location, but turning it off has no effect.
My standby is pretty amazing on stock, but what drains battery for me is if I turn screen on and off too much when checking active conversations on facebook/text, I think it keeps it awake pretty much the whole time, since it's not allowed to go into a deep sleep..
If I put custom, can I come back to stock after, or I gonna trip Knox and never gonna be able to use Samsung pay?
