I've heard that something with bluetooth and the sense ui causes wii controllers not to connect with the phone, so I've tried out cm7 and 9 and both were having issues with bluetooth working at all for me. does anyone know any tricks or something that i'm missing to be able to connect and use a wii controller?
Im using wiimote controller and its working fine for me in cm9

hmm, forgot to mention that i have a cdma model, htc_a510c. i've tried simonsimons cm7 and cm9. for cm7 it would let me turn on bluetooth and on the phone seemed like it had turned on, with the little bluetooth icon on the top bar and whatnot. but when i tried to find anything with it it wouldn't show up, so i had just assumed it wasn't really working correctly. for cm9 bluetooth just wouldn't turn on at all, i'd try to enable it and it would say 'enabling bluetooth...' but then just stay there :/
Try modpunk's cm9 for marvel c, in alpha6 i'm sure Bluetooth is fixed, try it.
ah cool, i didn't know he had one that worked for marvelc. i'll give that one a shot, thanks
well that didn't work either :/, same problem as the other cm9 i tried. the bluetooth says 'turning on' but just continues saying that instead of ever actually turning on :x

I just successfully paired my bluetooth keyboard with the xoom and all is well. It was easy enough and basically self explanitory. I figured i'd try my apple trackpad also since i was on a roll. the xoom found it quickly then asked me to enter "0000" to pair it. Seeing as how the trackpad has no numbers i thought it was hopeless, but i entered the digits with the keyboard, pressed enter and it paired.
After this in the bluetooth menu settings it says "Apple Trackpad" - paired but not connected.
I am not knowledgable enough to know where to go from here but any one have any ideas?
Actually now that i am thinking about it, does honeycomb even recognize "mouse" devices? Will it show a pointer on the screen if a bluetooth mouse is connected?
Thank you to any responders (even if you just have to say " sorry buddy yr screwed, its hopless")

I am fairly certain that you have the same problem that people trying to pair mice are having, which is that google has not left in pointer device functionality in the default honeycomb setup. its not so much a problem of pairing as it is a problem of android not knowing what to do with the device. Hopefully this can be implemented in future builds and/or roms.

I just paired it with my 3.1 Xoom, it works, but none of the gestures seem to work... I can't find any way to make them work, but I don't know anything. It does work, just none of the cool features of the magic trackpad.
I paired my magic mouse, everything works but the gestures, scrolling does work though.

Paired easily. Gestures don't work. Scrolling does. The tap to click doesn't seem to work but actually pushing the pad surface down does.
Do you find that your keyboard disconnects a lot? When I'm using it with my mouse it tends to disconnect and un-pair an awful lot. So,thinking my keyboard was just a bit busted, I exchanged it for a different one. Aaaaand this one seems to do the same thing. Anyone have similar issues? I know tons of you are using the same configuration. I'm on the tiamat rom.
bring up my post
anyone.....
I don't think anybody has that specific combination. But maybe if you rephrased to Bluetooth mice as a general subject, you may get some answers.
at least 4 other users have commented and posted pictures of this specific combo in other threads.
Well maybe go for a direct approach and pm them?
I havnt had any issues... but i dont regularly use both of them at the same time. I mostly been using my XOOM by itself. Are you using a custom rom or kernel? Have you tried doing a factory reset?

yes, my keyboard disconnects constantly, and I have to go into settings to connect it again. I try pressing all the buttons, turning it on and off......doesn't help. My Microsoft bluetooth mouse doesn't disconnnect. I tried turning off the mouse and just using the keyboard, but still have the disconnects....the onscreen keyboard keeps popping up. I'm typing this now on the Moto keyboard.....it's a great size, and I can type really fast on it. When it's connected.
edit: Ok, I think it actually was the mouse (Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000)....it's been disconnected for a while, and the keyboard is working fine. So I have to find another mouse. It really was neat being able to use the mouse, but if I wanna type really fast, I gotta turn it off. I missed 3 eBay snipe bids because the keyboard wouldn't connect. LOL
maybe it's a mouse issue in general then? I have a different mouse than you and your symptoms sound exactly like mine. BUMP THAT, could you do some testing for us? Just use your mouse and keyboard together more often.

I was chatting on Facebook for a while using just the keyboard with the mouse turned off, and it was typing in all caps a lot and wouldn't backspace some of the time. I gave up and used the touch keyboard. I'm away on vacation, but when I go back home I have another of the same Moto keyboards. I'LLC have to try that. It was practically free with that 50% off, $50 off sale they had, so I have 2. Oh, nice...it auto corrected i'll to I'LLC. Nothing is working for me today! LOL

i might bringthe mouse and keyboard to best buy this week to see if I can replicate the issues on the Acer and Samsung tabs.

I will try to replicate the problem. Anything u r doing in particular? How long should I wait before I say im done?
occasionally it'll go forever with no problems for me. Other time's it'll disconnect and give me issues within the first minute
Sync keyboard
Sync mouse
Do stuff
Try syncing the mouse first too, whatever
I tried both out and nothing... I was on facebook for about 15 - 20 minutes and I didnt have any issues. Im running BRD's 3.1 HC update not the tiamat rom. I can test again later and see if it acts up, very odd tho.
I'm on the rom. jumphour what are you on.

Motorola Xoom WiFi - Tiamat Xoom 1.4.4 overclocked to 1.54 GHz
so stock image with tiamat kernel then
Yes im on stock, with tiamat kernel. Im gonna update to tiamat 1.1 rom soon.
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but this still seems to happen, regardless of the keyboard and device. I have a Nexus 7 with the Logitech keyboard, and the Orochi conflicts with it as well. It's a problem with Android in general.
For what it's worth, the Bluetooth Settings menu shows both the Orochi and the keyboard as keyboard devices, as in you can select a language/layout that the Orochi uses, even though it's just a mouse. Maybe that's why we're seeing the conflict.
does cm7 work with hdmwin, because this app used to work a few weeks ago.
then after i saw that ps3 controller were now able to be used on the evo i went home and tried it, but lucky me, the app seems broken because everytime i plug in the cable my phone just freezes.
i keep reading xda and some people say it works, some say opposite. ive tried all the kernels mentioned here(tiamat,cm nicghly, etc) and i get the same outcome. what am i doing wrong, since i didnt change anything in my phone and last month this worked.
could somebody point me in the right direction or tell me the steps on how it worked for u guys i would appreciate it.
thanks
Yes.. just download from the market and enjoy.
Yea I did downloadbit again and it still freezes...
Wtf?
I'm using the CM7 nightly 180 build with Tiamat and it works great.
When you installed HDMwIn, did it ask you to download the daemon driver?

This happened to me before on 7.1 and that's why I switched to the nightly build 180 and it's been stable. IMO, it's the ROM. Back your apps with Titanium Backup and reinstall the nightly builds http://download.cyanogenmod.com/get/cm_supersonic_full-180.zip
First thanks for reply,
The rom could be one of the reasons but it worked 3 weeks ago that's why I don't understand.
I haven't tried any of the nightlys because of the bugs
There has to be another fix, it worked fine before

Yup, I was thinking the same thing when I ran into that issue. However, since loading the nightly builds, I haven't had a glitch with any apps, especially the mirroring app. It worked before on my phone and for what ever reason, it stopped working. The nightly build isn't buggy to me. Nothing force closes on me, GPS locks quick...everything is working...
Same with me a reboot with. Hdmi cable plugged in does the job

I tried the nightly 180 and right after I flashed it when into hdmi and it worked, kinda. It wouldnt display sometimes, itwoukd work then black screen so I figured it could be the cable.
So I left it pluged and played some snes without moving the cable.
This morning I plugin the cable again and BOOM it freezs AGAIN. WTF!!!!!!!!
Could it be that a broken cable does that?, I don't think so. If it was broken it wouldn't display, not freeze the phone
Wth am I doing wrong, this is driving me crazy, I already ordered another cable.
But why did it work the first time I tried the nightly , then next day it freezes again
HELP
I tried rebooting with cable but it just freezes at htc evo screen
Any other suggestion?
I replaced my cable because it was making my phone freeze, it was workin great for couple days but now its just mirroing like static.
How can I fix that, evo cm7
After trying a few different nightly builds and installing and uninstalling I finally got HDMwIn to work on nightly 214 with sz bfs kernel but after mirroring i saw that it broke my wifi and rebooting and clearing caches doesn't fix... i've been searching for 40 minutes but all i find are really old posts or sense wireless N fixes if this happens. anyone know what to do? or do I have to flash the rom again or is it the kerenl or can i replace a file via root explorer??
I got it working by using the cm7 kernel with the 180 nightly, and replacing my cable
Glad to read you got it working. It works, but can be finicky with the latest CM7 nightlies.

In that video, I'm running the lastest nightly, #225 (10-16-11) with Tiamat 4.10. I found if I get any static or, as you see, no video, I just unplug the HDMI cord from the Evo, and replug in.
So I have the MOGA gaming controller and every time I use it it messes my wifi up... Once I'm finished using the controller it tells me that my wifi is not in range and it won't connect no matter what I do until I reboot my phone. Does anybody else have the same problem or know of a way to fix this? I have contacted the company who makes the controller multiple times and have never received a response back. I'm stock unrouted.

I have one too and it stopped functioning after 2 months. The power switch is so sensative that any tap on the controller would cause it to turn off. At first that was the only problem and now it wont even connect via Bluetooth even after using different Roms. But I never experienced your issue. But again I only used my controller when I was at work and I dont use WiFi there.
I have tried two different USB keyboards (Cherry evolution stream XT, Cherry G80-3000) but none of them seems to work.
Both keyboards are working when connected to a pc. The OUYA usb port recognizes my mouse. So I guess it has to be a software problem.
Anybody else encoutering similar problems or having an idea to solve this issue?
I didn't find a single thread where a corded USB keyboard didn't work. I have no other keyboard to test .

Even with the keyboard attached? Do you connect the keyboard before booting up?
I've been using the Asus keyboard from my pc with no issues. When connected there is always the option to enable and disable it.

I have had problems in this area as well. For me pulling the power, plugging in the keyboard, and then putting the power back seems to work a lot of the time. Sometimes it is just a matter of doing it a bunch of time until the keyboard is finally recognized. To me, this issue speaks to the build quality and software quality of the Ouya in general. Stuff like this makes the Ouya pain in the a** for the masses.

What about using the power button to initiate a real shut down before attaching the keyboard.
It seems the OUYA is not built using parts from a single manufacturer and that has a lot to do with inconsistent performance.

I tried everything mentioned in this thread at least a few times with the two different keyboards with no effect.
I pulled the cord, plugged both keyboards in and turned it on. Powered it off with the hardware button and pluged the keyboard in. Searched the options for any signs of a keyboard that is connected but just not activated.
I also tried different builts (there was an auto update). None seems to work.
This box is a pain in the a%&. I seem to have a very *****y ouya. XBMC is not working quite well too.

No. I tried using a hub as a fix but it didn't help.
I'm absolutely clueless.
I guess installing a custom rom or a bootloader is no option without a working keyboard. The OUYA seems to be a complete waste of time and money so far. Only crap games, worst "store"/rom ever, loud fan, controller with input lag and XBMC not working properly. Unfortunately people seem to have recognized how bad this thing is, where I live the resell value is free falling.

I am at a loss as well. I'm not sure how attached you are to your current install on the OUYA but you could try to sideload the latest OTA. I am pretty sure you can do all that without a USB keyboard attached via ADB. You could also fastboot CWM and see if it is recognized then. Just a couple shot in the dark idea but as if a mouse works, the USB port must be working.
I borrowed a logitech keyboard from a friend and it's working like a charm.
The problem seems to be "cherry only".
That sucks. Now I have to buy a new keyboard for this crapcube since my friend needs his keyboard.
Thanks for the advices to everyone.
