GWK74 is supposed to be rolling out today. Anyone get it yet?
[source] http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...ID=2&PROD_SUB_ID=557&PROD_ID=559&AT_ID=378766
Not yet - will it push even if you're running a custom ROM? (deck, for example)?
No it won't automatically push, the dev needs to add in the update manually in the rom.
Oh poo, I guess I will be flashing stock, then. Still running GWJ22!
Lol yeah.
However, it takes cm7 a bit longer to do so since it's basically the whole android xD
so roms based off of cm7 might take a bit longer than stock roms haha
hoping Pete's stock rom gets this update

Until android.kernel.org is up there is no way we (as in ALL source based ROMs) will be able to update to GWK74.

i don't know if i want to wait for a custom build off of GWK74, or flash to stock and get the update... i'm so happy with my setup right now and don't want to flash again :/
are a lot of places even supporting NFC transactions?

you guys remember that not all cards are supported.
At launch today, Google Wallet supports CitiĀ® MasterCardĀ® credit cards and the Google Prepaid MasterCard, powered by First Data. Google plans to support additional cards.

Whats up guys today found out wifi theter 3.1-pre113 working on my sgs2 and all i can say its running 5 times faster than the built in wifi-tether..
This is the instruction to make it work on our device:
Download the yellow wifi-tether apk version 3.1 beta 11 from google..
Then install it on the phone,
now open the app
then menu-settings then change the device profile to epic touch 4g
done.
Start the app then enjoy your 5 times faster wifi-tether!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHOT WHOT
BELOW IS THE APK FOR YOU GUYS
No problems with the tether on the customized/themed ROM's I've tried so far. Still bottlenecked by the 4G, about 7-8Meg on a good day but I definitely get that on my Touchpad going through the phone.

Note that beta 7 has been running fine over here since it was released, on the SGS2 profile. I tried beta 11 a couple weeks ago and for some reason had trouble connecting.
Is there something tweaked in the latest beta and/or profile change?
Also, not sure why you've renamed the file attached, since you've confused things a bit...in your text, you refer to "beta 113", which is the experimental version (Dec 28). The attached apk filename implies a date of Jan 12, which is the featured "beta 11" release date.

dosnt work with that profile, thats why you have to choose the epic touch 4g so it can work good
Will check this out. Used to Tether all the time after dropping Comcast. Got Verizon now for a hell of a lot cheaper, although less of the good channels. 5 times faster? Have to check this out....
Thanks
Don't really see much difference than the stock. Does this one transmit more power?

Thanks, not much of a difference but I definitely see SOME improvement.
Does Rom Manager work on the Captivate Glide? I'd try it myself, but in the past, even though I could pick Motorola Milestone from within the app, it screwed up my Milestone and i was left without a working recovery image, so I thought I'd see if XDA had any experience here.

If you look at my signature you can see what I am using. [CWMR ZIP]I927UCLG9 Stock ICS With the keyboard fix and tethering fix and I removed bloat via TB. But there are many out there that I am sure work really well. I hear that "[ROM] [UCL9] LiteROM 0.4 - Slim - Smooth - Stable" from ThegreaterGood is very popular. I just have not tried it yet. I am holding out for a beta of CM9.
JB
no it doesnt work :crying:
Alright thanks man I might flash that one sometime when I'm free ha I just want to really open up my phone and have it fully customized I'm just not sure how to do it

I know that we can't use the international version roms on our phones but I saw that on the att side they already have two roms. I'm curious if they would work on ours. Since I'm still very much a noob I don't have the knowledge to get my phone working if it didn't work, but maybe one of the more experienced ones here might be able to. So anyone tried yet?

Everything is working fine!
Obviously WiFi calling is not going to work since its not supported on att just want to make sure there's no radio problem. The att roms don't update the radio?

roms dont flash radios, only the stock images do
I asked this question in the international community a few weeks ago and now it looks like it's been answered. Thanks to cashyftw flashing a rom.

AT&T ROM's work on our device that's great.
They are the same phone so everything should be fine UNLESS a radio is involved.
This is good news --- that means rom development should be STELLAR. Has anyone tried on a SPRINT S3 yet?

Files will need to be changed between Sprint and Verizon versions to account for different radio technologies.
Kernels should work across all of them though. It should be a situation similar to the Nexus.
Anyone know of a 4.4.x ROM with confirmed working Tap & Pay for Google Wallet?

I know for sure Mokee and Illusion. They are CM11 based. Usually you can clear app data for wallet if it doesn't work.

I've tried clearing data on CM11 and that didn't work. The Tap & Pay shows that its ready but doesn't work. The first builds work up until the 11/28 build

Yep....NFC works fine if I use it to transfer files from phone to phone. I've seen alot of threads with other people with the same issue and Google Wallet mods but no real fix. Only one I haven't tried yet is changing the build.props. People are saying that worked for them. It works fine if I use the first CM builds up until the 11/28 and earlier builds. I'm going to try the ROMS you suggested.
