Hi !
I tried to use for a while Official Archos Firmware 4.0.7(4.0.3) ! - I will explain later why ...
...for the first boot all seem to be ok !...so I made a reboot, and surprise !!! - after a short time, tablet becomes almost unusable ....!!!!???? - windows begin to open and close only !!! , I tried five times to unlock tablet ...but no chance ! - had to return to portrait mode to manage to unlock !!! - from time to time - seems someone invisible press on the screen ( status-bar open only, in terminal.apk keyboard write only end go on !) ...thing is that at some point began to amuse me :laugh: !!!
So the important thing now is ... we can not use our tablets !!! - so I'm thinking seriously to go back to previous version Honeycomb 3.2.80 ...or why not to sell it !!!
( thinking that this faulty thing, happens just in my custom roms ! - I tried to fix it ( in all my roms ) - but before to making a check in Official Archos Firmware !!! - so I apologize to all untill I'll upload the missing Roms ) !
Good luck to everyone !!! :good:
SOLVED - solution :
- uninstall Developer SDE ;
- format device in sde and flash official firmware ;
- go to sde and applay calibrate touchscreen five times !
- reboot , go to Settings -> Calibrate touchscreen -> also five times !
- reboot in sde and applay calibrate touchscreen ten five !!!
- reboot , install Developer SDE , from LeTama HOWTO ; ( not official !);
- now I'm working on AOKP Beta3 test - and no more touchscreen issue ! - seems to be solved ! :good:

Strange. I have not encountered anything like that on my 101 G9 1.5ghz Turbo (earlier version as it only has 512mb ram). I am using a custom rooted 4.0.6 firmware you created (none of the current ones). I have not tried any of your other rom's as this one has been going just fine for my purposes.
I know this suggestion sounds stupid. But did you try doing a touch screen calibration anytime? Cleaning the screen (not just wiping it off)
I too have not had these issues. Currently using your latest rooted version and was going to try the deodexed version next

I having screen unlock problems too.
Hi!
I tried almost every method to resolv this stupid issue !
...still seems to be not general...but in my device is always whatever firmware ( official, root , custom rom or overclock edition !)
:good:
I don't have this issue either. Seems like your device is broken?
Only slight problem I have is using (creating and closing) the tabs in Chrome.

Hi
First thanks for your great work surdu_petru
I have the tablet 101 1.5 gb ram 1GB with [email protected] V3, not even a reset or a lock but this afternoon i put S1tweak to work and...... the clock zone, setings etc bloked...... with a reset solved but it is curious that after a long time without a problem has been trying to put the 2 cores to work and problems.
I said if it may be worth to give a clue to the why of those blocks you comment.
Thanks for your work and encourage you sure that you give to the problem

Hi!
Thanks !
..but do not worry !...all the 2 core work in your tablet ! on Governor hotpug is 100%....but is there some device like mine ....where is not run the 2 core than only a hotplug Governor ! If I choose other Governor , yes I see enable 2 core an any benchmark ... but practically runs only one ( result of the test score ) ...which is not happening in the hotplug Governor !!! So Governor hotplug run with 2 core 100% ...and if you choose other governor - varies from device to device ! I hoppe you understand now !
- and yes I solved partial problem with touchscreen ! ( see thread : Custom Rom -Rooted, Deodexed & Busybox installed !)
Good luck :

Hi surdu_petru, is it safe installing your deodexed custom rom?. I mean, has it the issue your mention before yet?
Best.
no problems here
Hi all,
I have not experienced anything like what surdu describes with either the stock 407 firmware or the rooted version he made available recently.
However I did notice an awful lot of panic messages related to critically high temperatures in logcat. This made me think: can it be that overheating of the tablet is causing weird behavior like this? By the way I am sure the same overheating is an issue with the stock firmware; in fact I had to send back my first g9 tablet for replacement after it had broken down permanently from overheating.
Re. Chrome Tabs not useable: I had the same experience and de-installed Chrome for that reason. I suspect buggy programming on their side
Cheers,
Sandor
I get this every time I use my tablet. It makes me hate it even more

hi surdu,
i have no problem with my 101 g9 (your rooted official firmware 4.07/4.03 installed some weeks ago). all is working well except gps. gps did not work with 3.2.80 too but this is another problem.
(written with my 101g9)
me too
I also have this strange behaviour , i am on stock 4.07. it is almost UN-usable for ten - 15 minutes but then works ok
and then it will run fine for days until it happens again, i found that it did it far less when i removed the screen protector
hi, this issue of touchscreen on my tablet (g9 101, 8gb) has always been present, with any version of Android, official or not and especially in the corners (it is sufficient that I placed the tablet on the table holding it at an angle to get crazy touch). for me is the structure of the tablet that is too deformable, in fact, usually I try to "twist it" a bit and the problem usually disappears even if I have to recalibrate the touchscreen at least once a day. screen unlock problems it was always present if the tablet is on standby for a long time (???). ciao

maybe. a lot of people are satisfied with different firmwares.
Does anyone have knowledge of how the touchscreen data is sent to the tablet PCB? I want to make sure my locked tablet problem is in the screen and not just a bad cable connection. Another member will sell me his screen but I have to make sure that is where my problem lies. Thanks.

Hey dude I would recommend posting to Mr. Scholbert's thread, he seems most knowledgeable in the subject
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1644376
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I had this problem sometimes before my G9 was replaced because of another issue. Calibrating the display in the settings a few times helped
I've also had this problem, on my device it was definitely related to the charge of the battery.
My tablet was behaving just fine as long as the charge was between 100 % and 50 %.
When the battery level got below 50 % the touch screen started behaving strange (no reaction to my touches and without touching the screen all sorts of strange things happening, applications launching, screen scrolling etc. etc.)
When the battery level got below 40 % the touch screen was totally dead, nothing happening, no reaction to my touches and also no more strange behavior, just totally dead.
I've now got a new device under warranty, I yet have to test if this behaves any better.

It looks like v2 Zip file is corrupted
About v1:
* I love the menus, he new layout, the overall appearance
* The ROM is snappy but definitely slower than MSI
* I have an issue with the drop down menu. It works well with ADW @ 240 dpi (ie the original settings)
When I move to 180dpi it still works
When I install my applications, it just get screwed up and never drops down to the bottom and get stuck there with no reaction
Think it comes from bad interaction with Launcher Pro... Will try uninstalling but it could be any of my other apps....
Anyway I think I am just going to revert back to MSI... Spent already too much time experimenting
Since you are into porting other OS, what about this OS called "ICS" ? Ehehe
*** Edit: uninstalled Launcher Pro but my Status Bar is still screwed... Must be another of my apps but can't try one by one...
I guess MSI will remain my main ROM (It's anyway faster)
*** Edit 2: maybe I was unfair about the speed. The CPU wasn't overclocked (Fr some reason) and the governor was not my governor of choice. Nevertheless the issue with the status bar is upsetting me. I just have no idea what is causing this Definitely one of my apps given the fact it happens after restoring my apps through Titanium Backup

Now I am really f#cked...
I cant boot anymore and my tab in CWR refused to go to the end of installaion of any ROM I have on my SD Card
When I switch off the battery charging icon just show grew but doesn't go up to the step where it shows the battery charging. Will try flashing from download mode maybe but now I am really worried. Might have to go through reformating partition but then I'll loose everything I saved on internal SD
Sh#t... Never happened to me before
The error I get is:
assert failed : getprop("ro.product.device") == "galaxytab" etc, etc... (Lots of text
And then E: Error in /emmc/goomanger/BLINDMokee_v1.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted
Tried from my external SD with other ROMS and get exactly the same message
No...
Anybody has a clue on how to make an Odin package from one of the CWMR zip files? I gess Ill try that first
If not working I might have to go through a repartitioning but does anybody know if I have any chance to accces first to my internal SG to backup all my stuff (from CWMR)... Really worried to loose a lot of data now...
Edit: When i plug the tab it doesn't stay in charging mode, but instead boots into recovery. That's really weird and I am quite worried it is actually not charging... In which case this means I don't have much time before fixing the tab. After that no battery and probbaly no way to charge it... It is not techniclly bricked since I can access CW Recovery and download mode, but I ma quite worried
Is this the awaited update to msi or shall we expect another?

I downloaded it and installed it. Very nice rom. Beautiful and smooth with lots of goodies. However, I unistalled it after 10 minutes. I downloaded, wiped, wiped, and wiped. Installed, booted, rebooted to recovery fixed permissions "enjoyed ". Camera forced closed every time. Wiped repeated the whole process with an extra wiping. Still no camera. I went to the market and downloaded a camera app but that didn't help.
Nice rom if you can do without the camera.
I can't. I actually use my tab as my only device. Its got to do it all with stability.

here is uncorrupted v2 zip.
camera seems to work (a tester sent me a video and picture
(tester also adds, "its a neat camera app. love the options)
after fully booted, try a kernel from here: http://goo.im/devs/dizgustipated/Kernels
the landscape kernel is tons better
Diz in testing the BlindMooke I have found it to be fast reliable and everything is working well for me. Currently I am on V2.
Camera works perfectly and I like the app. Nice to have the 2d barcode button there ready to go.
** Note - Update the kernal, I suggest BOCA landscape, no issues with camera after this.
3g works fine and is fast, getting good HSPA speeds. Crossing the harbour bridge in Sydney on my Gs2 using droptus often drops the connection for a short time, using the tab I get a good signal so can't fault it.
After fixiing permissions wifi is fast and connects immediately.
The controls are brilliant, nicely laid out and easy to understand.
I am using SBP 3d launcher, the extra ram from the ROM and kernal allows it to run very well.
In the settings, notification options they menu is all in chineese which so far is the only fault I can find.
I love this rom due to the great layout, good graphics and great functions. To install I followed your intructions.
1. baclup with titanium.
2. factory reset
3. wipe cache
4. wipe dalvik cache
5. Install ROM
6. Install your kernal. Boca Landscape is a good one to use.
7. fix permissions.
8. reboot. wait install super user.
9. reboot and use it.
I have had issues in the past with the camera app FCing, I did a restock at that point to ensure there were no files left over causing me problems. I have not had a problem since and that includes with testing Joy as well as Mooke and blind mooke.
Key here is this ROM is for those who want a good easy to use nice ROM. It does not yet allow you to set your govener, it isn't built for being a rocket but it is nice with many features that are just brilliant.
if you want control, long battery life and high speed go MSI.
If you like another well known look and feel then Diz has something for you as well. For me this is my ROM.
First Diz, I'd like to thank you a million times for your patience nd helping me step by step to get out of the corner where I was stuck. Even though your ROMs were not faulty at all you help me to get my Tab back to normal and fully functioning without any data lost
As far as BlindMOOKE is concerned, I share the opinion below. t looks really nice and is extremely comfortable. It is probably your nicest looking ROM. But for speed lovers MSI is the one
I disagree on one point though: you can have the control of the governor, the overclcking and the undervolting as lo as you ave the right kernel (I use Voltage Control or CPU Master and they both work well with the lndscape knel for instance)

Thanks, yes you are right with apps to control the CPU etc but just now the selection of govener isn't available in the ROM.
I am not a power user so this one works for me, I did find issues with autobrightness and the Quick Pic app after taking a photo was crashing. Did an update on that in the market and all is fine with camera and photos.

If you wanta large choice of governor you ca flash another kernel from Diz
I would advise the Landscape kernel where you have a large choice
They are available on Goo manager
I need testers (i now have 8 roms and need a wider tester base)

Hi All,
This is a partial port attempt of latest ubuntu touch 14.04 on our d2att (http://www.ubuntu.com/phone).
Because this port is not fully completed, I prefered to release a multiboot version (multiboot v2.11 needed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684052 ).
If you are not familiar wtih multiboot, please check how to use it before testing this rom ( or watch videos examples here : http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCefO8F4YX6qMQsqpBHTqTqQ)
When you install this ROM with multiboot, you will have to choose img format only and at least 2.5G for data parition.
Features ( tested only on my Bell carrier d2att ) :
Graphics : OK
Cellular Radio : OK
Wireless network OK
Touch OK
Suspend/Resume OK
Rotation : OK
Phone OK
Audio OK
Boot process : ~OK
Camera OK (since v0.12 )
Battery : ~OK ( but value printed is 1/3 of the real one )
volumes buttons : OK
GPS : very partial ( position tracking only working with test_gps command line )
Bluetooth : unknown ( but started ) - has to be tested with a headset
All others features are not working (not yet studied nor tested)
Important recommandations to install this ROM under multiboot :
img file only - install on external sdcard recommended
count ~30 mn to install an external sd ( ~15 mn to create rom and 15 mn to install rom )
80M for system, 2.5G for data, 20M for cache
first reboot can take 2 minutes, be patient. After more than 2 minutes, press on/off button, it is possible that the phone is put in pause
cell can take 2 minutes to come UP.
sometimes boot does not work, the device reboot after timeout on main rom. Reboot to recovery and just try a second time. This happen especially if installed on internal sdcard, that's why I recommended an installation on external.
Note : did not find a reboot option : to reboot, I press ~3s power button until screen turns off, then release button and wait first vibration. At first vibration, usual technique to jump to recovery

When you install this ROM with multiboot, you will have to choose img format only and at least 2G for data parition.
Features ( tested only on my Bell carrier d2att ) :
Graphics : OK
Cellular Radio : OK
Wireless networkOK
TouchOK
Suspend/ResumeOK
Rotation : OK
Boot process :~OK
Phone Partial*
SoundPartial*
*earphone not working for the moment ( but headsets, micro and speakers seem to work ).
*During call, if no headsets are plugged, audio exits from speakers (not good...)
All others features are not working (not yet studied nor tested)
Camera
GPS
Bluetooth
Buttons (except on/off)
etc...
Process to install this ROM under multiboot :
- img file only - install on external sdcard recommended
- 80M for system, 2G for data, 20M for cache
- first reboot can take 2 minutes, be patient. After more than 2 minutes, press on/off button, it is possible that the phone is put in pause
- cell can take 2 minutes to come UP.
- sometimes boot does not work, the device reboot after timeout on main rom. Reboot to recovery and just try a second time. This happen especially if installed on internal sdcard, that's why I recommended an installation on external.
- If you want to use phone, please plug a headset.
Note : did not find a reboot option : to reboot, I press ~3s power button until screen turns off, then release button and wait first vibration. At first vibration, usual technique to jump to recovery

Hi kalel420, the zip contains everything ( cm10 base and trusty ), so you just have to flash this zip. You can also check the video to follow installation process.
Philippe,
Hi, I'm codemonkey98 from the other thread discussing multiboot. I am very interested in work, so interested that I mentioned you in the /r/GalaxyS3 subreddit on Reddit. The following thread that I posted can be found below:
[d2att] [ROM] [PORT] Ubuntu Touch 14.04 trusty - for multiboot by /u/Nickolaus
I hope you do not mind me simply spreading the word about you. If you do, I will kindly delete the post.
~~~~~
That aside, may I ask how you're going to go about installing this? I do not have multiboot on my phone yet, but do I simply flash that .zip file for multiboot within my recovery and then walla?
Hi codemonkey98, no prob for reddit.:good:
If you plan to install this rom on your main internal, even if I strongly do not recommand it, install should be working (has to be confirmed).
I don't recommand it not only because it is not fully fonctionnal but mainly because reboot process is not good at all.
I was actually going to install it on my external SD card. So was I right about the TWRP part? I can simply flash the multiboot zip from your multiboot thread within my TWRP recovery?
Yes, you install "d2att-twrp2.7-mb-v2.11.zip" from your actual recovery (twrp or cwm), then reboot to recovery to get twrp with multiboot.
Hum, this is CM10.1 base which check this. To fix it, you will have to modify updater-script in zip file.
open zip file (with winrar for example), extract META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script, edit it and replace for example on line 2 "I747UCDLK3" by your bootloader version. and replace this file.
[edit] will upload version 0.12 without modem version checking.
[edit2] version 0.12 is quite ready with another function just fixed now : camera
Have you been able to fix the power button? I'm honestly contemplating on making this as my stable ROM for ****s and giggles. I do have a question however, whenever I was creating a ROM in my external SD card, it took a very LONG time for it to backup. I let it sit and it never finished so I just shut it off.
Congrats on the port. I tried it out, had to add a line in metadata and the updater script for the Canadian bootloader so that it was able to flash. It works like advertised....
I think best way to make a clean poweroff/reboot will be to write small qml program.
Installation on external sdcard is long : ~15 minutes for rom creation and again 10-15 min for installation (on my sdcard)
If you get problem on sdcard, just try temporarly on internal sdcard ( check the video on first message ).
Philippe,
I was able to flash this tonight, and I must say I'm pressed how far you've gotten with this port. Obviously it's sluggish, but that's to be expected. Honestly, I'm just shocked.
~~~~~
Edit #1 If you are wanting your Google Contacts, you should be able to do this:
Code:
adb shell
sudo -u phablet -i
syncevolution --configure --sync-property "[email protected]" --sync-property "password=secret" Google_Contacts
syncevolution --sync refresh-from-server Google_Contacts addressbook
If you have 50 or more contacts you'll also have to do this:
Code:
syncevolution --sync one-way-from-server Google_Contacts addressbook
There's also an application that can be used to import Google contacts as well. This application can be found here.
Edit #2 The default password for the account Phablet is phablet if I'm not mistaken.

Hi Dexedrine and codemonkey98, thank's to give feedbacks.:good:
Thanks also codemonkey for those tips. Concerning reponsiveness of the rom, I found it quite good in my case.
Also, I successfully fixed the very annoying problem of audio during calls (exiting from speaker and not earphone) . Now we can call in public

You sure you haven't had any issues with the response on this port? Because I have, but like I said, that is to be expected in ports and alpha ROMs.
Concerning the tips I gave, I was honestly trying to find a way of inserting my contacts from my GMail account onto my phone. It appears using the Terminal is the best way as for now, or you could use the application I posted about. Other than that, this ROM really has been great dude. I am surprised to see how stable it is.
~~~~~
I didn't bother testing the audio issue you had mentioned because I don't receive many calls in general. However it is great to hear that you got that resolved. I'll be sure as well to flash the update when that gets uploaded for us.
For sure, external roms are a bit less fast than main internal but not that much. Ubuntu touch use Mir/Libhybris for graphical acceleration so graphics are very good (very small overhead). I did not tried a lot of apps, but did not feel slow responses. Is it general slow behaviour or for specific actions ? Maybe also, your external card is perhaps a bit slow.
Version 0.13 with audio/phone fix has been uploaded and available in first post. I did it as d2lte version to let users from other d2xxx models test this on their device.
I actually wiped my external card as I plan on testing to see if that was the cause. I may as well do a backup of my current ROM and see how this preforms as a daily driver. As always, thanks again for dedicating yourself towards this. I feel as I'm the only person who's been commenting daily on this thread, but that shows my excitement towards this project of yours.
Well, while typing this post my download is already done. Might as well put this bad boy on my device and flash it. Quick question, with newer releases of this ROM, couldn't you just dirty flash or no?
Hey awesome work, I've upgraded to a new phone and gave my daughter the s3 I flashed the other night. Man you rocked it! Good job
Ubuntu Touch requires the minimum of 2560MB to be used as an actual system. The system is probably at the minimum, and I'm just guessing it is probably the down right minimum for things such as rootfs. The cache is at 20mb because of in case of the max cache size. I might be wrong however, and probably am. I'd just wait until the dev replies.
You could probably increase it if you really wanted to, but it may not benefit you.
Bugs/Cons:
In stocklauncher with stock firmware you can not add widgets. But you can install another launcher, then it will work fine.
This is soon going to be fixed in a future update according to the manufacture.
No backlight in the touchbuttons.
Device will get a little hot around the camera area on the back, when running 3D games.
Camera could be better, but it is generally ok for the price!
Hi,
Great start of new topic/model, and nice links to possible fixes.
I just received my Elephone P2000 and after a few days I am still in doubt about it.
It is a lot of phone for little money, but looking at the specs I had my expectations set a bit higher.
Okay, maybe I am a bit prejudiced as I use this phone to replace my iPhone 5s
I ran into the same issue with adding Widgets, so I am glad there is a fix. Thanks for that !
The main problem I am still facing (and on bbs.elephone.hk I read that I am not the only one) is the Wifi connection. It keeps dropping at random. This makes the phone utterly useless for me since push mail, whatsapp, newsflash, etc are simply unreliable
I think the 720p screen is not as bad as some reviewers state. Even for a big 5.5" screen it is quite okay. Still in doubt if 5.5" is the right size for me
The camera however is a real disappointment, 13MP but grainy and unfocused.
Battery runs out quite fast. Even without WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS I managed to run out within 4 hours of fiddling around.
Although memory seems plenty, I ran out of memory quite rapidly when installing software, and found that adding a microSD card and using APP2SD solved my problem.
It took me a while to figure out how to place the 2 SIM cards (1 regular and one micro) and the microSD memory card, but once I managed to fit them this really works fantastic.
I hope Elephone will come up with more software updates since this could really be a nice phone for a nice price, and 5.5" is really in the demand at the moment.
Keep up the good work with adding updates and user experiences! Thanks !
Thanks for your feedback! I agree that the phone can not be compared to a iPhone 5. But also remember the huge price difference!
You also cant compare a Porsche with an Audi, both fine cars, but they are not the same class and cost different.
Regarding the WiFi, it is strange, because I have not experienced any problems with the WiFi on mine. It always works stable. But I agree that the camera could have been much better, its not super good. Just ok for fun pictures I would say.
Battery in standby mode is good for me, several days, but when I use it, only max 1 day. But try to disable GPS and Googles location service, it uses a lot of extra battery! And if it doesn't help, turn the brightness of the screen 10% down.
Hi,
I used VRoot 1.73 from vrootdownload.org and mgyun.com/en/GetVRoot since this was supposed to be in English. The newer 1.7.8 seems to be available only in Chinese, and my Chinese is quite limited
Installation is quite easy (start the setup on your Windows machine/virtual-machine and do not choose all the extra software and browser add-ons, start the VRoot program, hook up the phone to your system, press ROOT...and wait..phone reboots and windows software states 'rooted'). After installation I found 2 Icons with chinese text on the phone, 1 containing (chinese) advertisements and links to other software from the developer mgyun, and one supposedly something to do with the rooting/super-user proces (also most text and choices in chinese). The rooting proces is quite simple...and appears successful (apps requiring root access do start).
However, chinese pop-ups keep coming up when a proces requires root/superuser access and I have no clue what choices to make.
This made me decide to 'unroot' and remove the software. The chinese advertisement link remains on the phone, but this can easily be uninstalled.
I completely agree that this phone is in another league and cannot be compared to iPhone. The price is incredible for this phone, plus the huge 5,5" inch screen (bigger screens seem to be the current 'fashion'), dual sim, and the fantastic specs made me buy it. Without looking at the specs (octacore, memory, fingerprint, ips, etc) I would have been amazed...simply because of its price and neat design.
I have seemed to narrow the WiFi problem down to problems with DHCP. When I assign a fixed address the phone disconnects (according to wifi fixer) and reconnects, but when using dhcp things appear to go wrong. At home of course I can assign a fixed address, but at work and public places this is no option. There seem to be multiple users on the elephone forum that experience similar wifi problems, so I hope there will be a fix.
Interesting to see if there will be a stable and supported version of MIUI rom for the P2000, did you try the beta ?
Thanks!
Just flash this ROM with Spflashtool from needrom http://www.needrom.com/mobile/elephone-p2000-3/
After that you will have ROOT, not with vROOT but with normal SuperSU (not in Chinese). Also this ROM fixes the widgets and gives you wake gestures, so you can for example draw a C when the screen is off and it starts the Camera, or you just double tap to wake the screen.
I did not try the MIUI beta, because some features still don't work.
tnx
That ROM is clean, it is from Elephone and also the only ROM that fixes the widgets. Framaroot cant root this phone. If you want to root your old ROM manually you can only do it with the "read back method" and MTK droidtools plus Sp flash tool.
Read back root tutorial here by ITXtutor (but it is more complicated)
mhmm...ok i think that i try needrom's rom xD hahaahahaha
so..i read this in rom description:
I do NOT recommend to flash the "Preloader" so please untick that part in SP Flash Tools before you flash!
(You can flash it anyway without the Preloader, then it will just keep your original on the phone).
ALWAYS have a working backup of your original ROM before you flash a new unknown ROM.
Just untick the Preloader in Spflash tool after you loaded the scatter file and before you then flash, so you flash everything but the Preloader. Its safer to keep the original Preloader intact on the phone.
No, there is no problem that you don't flash the Preloader. The Preloader is the same, both ROMs are 4.4.2 Kitkat, only change is that the new ROM has fixed widgets and some extra features. Even IF there should be a problem, you could always flash the preloader afterwards again. But it is recommended never to flash the Preloader, better just leave the original on the phone. But if you want you can also just try to flash it, should be okay. But its not necessary.
On older devices, flashing the Preloader could brick them (in the told days) therefore it is not recommended. And you don't need to flash the Preloader when you flash new ROM, so why run the risk?
No the ROM don't change your camera or speed. Its the same as you current ROM, just with some fixes. If your not satisfied with the ROM then just flash the old ROM back again. The stock normal ROM can also be found on needrom.com
SuperSU can give problems with this ROM and some applications that can be resolved by replacing SuperSU by Superuser from ClockworkMod.
I had problems with Titanium Backup and those were solved by the change above.
Which USB drivers P2000 and Win 8.1 64bit?
Can anyone tell me which usb drivers to use for Elephone P2000 in Win 8.1 64bit.
Droid Tools en SP Flashtool do not see my phone.
Thanks in advance.
Update:
I used a windows 7 PC with pdanet mtk drivers and was successfull in flashing my phone!!!
Android or MIUI
Hi,
I followed your instructions and was able to flash the P2000. Thanks for the instructions and the link to the ROM
When starting I noticed that the icons look quite different from the default Android icons, they look much more like the MIUI icons. Is the ROM from your first post really a factory ROM provided by Elephone ??
The new ROM btw still has many of the original problems (WiFi and memory plus power management) but at least the widgets can be added and SuperUser works, so I am quite happy with it.
Thanks
s7yler said:
No, there is no problem that you don't flash the Preloader. The Preloader is the same, both ROMs are 4.4.2 Kitkat, only change is that the new ROM has fixed widgets and some extra features. Even IF there should be a problem, you could always flash the preloader afterwards again. But it is recommended never to flash the Preloader, better just leave the original on the phone. But if you want you can also just try to flash it, should be okay. But its not necessary.
On older devices, flashing the Preloader could brick them (in the told days) therefore it is not recommended. And you don't need to flash the Preloader when you flash new ROM, so why run the risk?
The OTG works in mine, you can see it here in my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZdbQgL4p70&t=7m54s at time 7:40
Try to format in fat or fat32 maybe? or try another stick? also what firmware are you using?
Hi.
First of all, thanks for all you great people for working and developing for these phones.
Today, for the first time, I flashed my phone. Having android on Wave 2 feels great!
I installed CarbonRom but I'm not entirely satisfied with it and wanted to try to install some other ROM (like ZenDroKat, I heard good things about that one) and run into a problem. I noticed that my PC doesn't see the phone at all! There is no reaction, not sound when connecting the phone. I tried the front and the back usb-ports, and on our family laptop. The multiloader doesn't find the port either.
Although it did react in recovery mode (TWRP) and installed drivers for "Android Composite ADB Interface", whatever that is.
Or could I install a new ROM without trying to fix this?
Once i had a problem detecting my phone , i was so frustrated : what worked with me , maybe this sound silly but :
Does your phone charge with the USB cable :
if yes in mini USB port there is a tongue inside , trying raising it a little with a sharp metal
if no , maybe your cable is the problem .
between that and this , probable you can install Omni rom , by copying the rom to sdcard if you have external card reader , since you have already TWRP installed.
Thanks.
I did figure it out. Well, I didn't fix it on CarbonRom but I managed to install another ROM. The USB worked in Download Mode, so I just re-installed Bada and then installed ZenDroKat ROM. For now it seems to work fine.
Now, is there a way to delete your own threads?
I have Windows 8 on my computer, when I update my windows with connected phone it shows Acer updates in Microsoft update menu. I update all, and after my computer didn't recognize my phone. Then I delete Acer drivers and it recognize again
Yeah, I'm having issues with ZenDroKat. Namely, it often refuses it go out of sleep mode, I missed phone call due to that.
I'm going to try Omni then, thanks for advice. There are so many roms, it is hard to determine which one is better at a first glance.
Short development history: by Rebellos
The project has been started by Oleg in March 2011 - development progress has been made rapidly by him, however, he had been using JTAG Riff Box to make Wave oneNAND memory organisation the same like in Samsung Galaxy S (SGS) I9000 - phone with very similiar hardware to Wave. The problem is it's very expensive and advanced stuff. In the meantime mijoma found security hole in Wave's Bootloader3 (BL3) FOTA loading code and made PoC-exploit for that. That allowed me to create, with help of srg.mstr, mijoma and b.kubica, simple Badadroid bootloader, loading kernel zImage from moviNAND flash memory - this is where port has been made bootable on literally any Wave phone. However, oneNAND layout still remains untouched and by default kernel is configured to use SGS oneNAND partitions. So nbates66 and anghelyi put all their efforts into making this method of booting operatible. It succeed after few days and ShadowAS1 had released unofficial tutorial explaining how to bring up pre-alpha Android into S8500 device. The problem was that only 1 bootloader version was supported this time, mijoma came up with idea of making our FOTA bootloader capable of supporting alot of bootloaders - he created "BL Univ Boot FOTA". Oleg became very busy with his real life stuff so kernel development practically stopped. Currently I'm the most active kernel developer, altough I'm not so experienced as Oleg is and I'm learning from scratch so it goes very, very slow.
December 2011 - KB_Jetdroid contacted me and we started to work on Jet&Wave modem driver.
April 2012 - mikegapinski has joined the project to get things together and make first really working ROM.
9 April 2012 - Mike got ICS platform booting.
Mike has stopped maintaining platform so I took it over.
Oleg has finally got S8530 in his hands and made SCLCD driver for it. Praise him!
Both S8500 and S8530 versions are semi operatible. The most complicated, annyoing, and needed driver is Modemctl+RIL.
March 2013 - World's first working non-AT commands based RIL for non-Android phone has been released. Most of the implementation was done by KB_Jetdroid, me and Volk204, basing on opensource Replicant's RIL for Samsung Galaxy S.
April 2013 I finally fixed S8530 display driver.
September 2013 - we've got working microphone recording, and shortly after Tigrouzen found a proper patch fixing voice communication during calls.
22 September 2013 - we released first version capable of multicalls.
~~October 2013 - GPRS connections are working
Currently most of the core work is done.
We are working hard with Volk204 on RIL interface, doing small progress day by day.
en very brief : there was one team , that did all the work since the start ,"the Badadroid team" , Badaroid developed by Rebellos and Volk204 was a base for Omnirom ported by volk204 which he is the main developer now , and all those rom you see is basically noob roms , they copy the work of Volk204 , they are actually no developers in the first place, if Volk204 doesn't fix the bugs in his roms , their roms has them . i would recommend
Nand - use Omni rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2800014
u wanna keep bada - Badadroid 4.4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2609560
Hero355 is also a good one but he has own bugs and he isn't around much this days , work on it stopped http://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-tizen/bada-android/rom-carbonrom-s8500-s8530-t2840174
read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459391
Thanks, that's quite interesting.
It's amazing that you people are still developing for these phones. They are so outdated that I wouldn't have guessed that anyone bothered with them.
Why would anyone want to keep bada? Isn't the main reason to install android-based ROM to get rid of that awful system? :laugh:
THIS IS AN ALPHA, RELEASED FOR YOU TO PLAY WITH AND GET A SENSE OF WHAT’S TO COME. AND SOME THINGS DOESN’T WORK. REALLY. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING ANYTHING CLOSE TO PERFECTION, WALK AWAY FROM YOUR COMPUTER, LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR AN HOUR OR SO, THEN COME BACK. MORE EXCITING DISCLAIMERS/WARNINGS IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS CAN BE FOUND BELOW. READ THEM.
KNOWN BUGS (what doesn't work):
- Modem in 2G mode work incorrect(Network registration don't work with some SIM cards, permanent full signal straight, problem is with audio in calls)
With 3G all is OK, Use this: Settings -> More.. in "wireless&network" category -> Mobile Network -> Preferred Network type -> 3G only
- Conference Calls
- Some problems with audio codec settings, but generally it should
For me : Call diverting , not working
GPS not fully working
Roms is amazing , fast , but not so fast when installing Gapps ,(i did install them , but i disable all of it)
Battery life
don't get me wrong Omni is my daily rom , but this could be a problem if talk to much on phone , battery drop out fast , with average use it won't last 10 hours
hey , so i explained my issue in another thread here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/help/please-help-im-facing-huge-issue-t3881101/post78510209#post78510209
some1 on reddit pointed it to be a storage issue , so i tried the benchmark , all good but the ROM score , i tried twice ;
Got 890 while the normal is 4200 does this confirm my phone is dying ?
ps ; tried to factory reset , custom rom , downgrading , still the same
Install this, run the test and post the results, with that test we can see if your phone has something weird with the storage.
my phone keeps fixing itself idk lel try install custom kernels like agni
I did suspect a hardware component failure, but it's unlikely. The way i fix it is by restarting a ton of times in a specific way sometimes making use of vol buttons.
You are not alone both of you! I have not found the solution but think i got the exact same problem. I want you to be at peace. I did suspect a hardware component failure, but it's unlikely. Have you ever dropped the device? Btw, i am on arb 3 i never updated. And it's global version. The way i fix it is by restarting a ton of times in a specific way. But it comes back after some use for a few days. It's exactly like you said, slow loading of apps, and very slow boot, basically very slow everything. I haven't done a factory reset yet. I plan on doing that and eventually using a custom rom.
After Custom rom installation,you will notice more terrible slowness,it is hardware issue the only solution is changing motherboard :crying:
How do you know this? Please give me more information. we need to work together to reach a conclusion.
i really doubt that , i first tried LOS , it was good , yesterday i flashed PixelExperience .. and boi it's amazing , way less booting time , unlocking now is so smooth , way better then miui 9.5.19 ... and better than 10 too , apps don't take too long to launch ... it's not as fast as it was before this issue , but it's way better than miui ...
i didn't try a custom kernel , did you ?
whoever has this issue , let's work together to fix it ,
basically it's storage issue , as shown in the benchmark pics , so please install that app in the first comment AndoBench so we can see the results ...
what am i facing :
-slow apps launch
-slow boots , last time i flashed PixelExperience it took 8 minutes to boot , the first reboot after that took 3-4 minutes i guess , please try to calculate your booting times , ( when i flashed miui rom via FastBoot , it took 2 hours and some reboots , before i actually got to use my phone )
-slow unlocks , using fingerprint
i lock the phone , unlock it several times one after another real fast , results :
first unlock is usually fast , then it gets slower every time until it starts to take 20 seconds or more to unlock ( not anymore with PE but still , it's not that fast ... )
-when moving files inside the phone ... it takes way longer than usual . booting into twrp for the first time ... takes up to 2 minuts for it to boot ( 2 minutes on the logo ) ....
please explain what you are facing in details ... and don't forget the benchmark pics or any other info you can provide ...
fun fact : i got this phone just 2 months ago . feelsbad
So this is how we are going to find out; you said you are on a custom rom and that it is fine now, right? Keep using it for a week straight, and tell me if the lag returns. If it does return then we know that custom roms can't fix it permanently.
