Skinomi white carbon fiber skin

I just ordered this white/silver carbon fiber skin from Skinomi. I've seen quite a few black ones, but no white... so here you go.

Thanks. I've been kinda wanting a good white carbon fiber. Honestly, I'm not so hot on the way this one looks, though. I may wait a bit longer for others. But major thanks for the pics!

I'm not too happy about this one either. I have a Phantom Skinz one coming. I'm going to return one of the two.

I have a phantom skinz screen protector, mainly because it greatly reduces smudging. I also reluctantly got a case after getting away with dropping my phone a few times. The case did end up saving the phone at least once when I dropped it on concrete from about 6 feet (I like to drink).
I guess I don't really get these kinds of skins though. Is it just for looks? or for protection? It's not my kind of thing, but if it's just for looks then I guess I understand.
But as far as protection goes, skins only protect against surface scratches. There is no shock protection though, if you drop your phone the skin means nothing.

Need something to hold you over til otterbox cases are released?

This is a case my gf bought from my local mall. She paid $24.99 but there cheaper on ebay. Its kind of like a defender series knock off with no built in screen protector. She has a white visor screen guard. Its a nice case fits tight. You can tell that if you had to remove the rubber alot it would probally get lose after a while. I got the black one of those. Kinda cheap feeling but it will do.. Mine came with a screen protector.
I'll report back with pictures *no phone yet tho*

There are plenty of cases out now that offer as much protection as the commutee. My casemate being one. Im referring to the defender. The commuter wouldnt last a week with me.

I "rented'' a ballistic sg maxx case from at&t until my otter box defender ships from amazon (only $34.99). Don't like the sg maxx but it will do till I return it.

Agreed. I'm surprised these haven't crept their way into a Dollar Tree yet, there's no way in hell I'd spend more than $5 on something like this.

The gray one is looking sweet but the white one.... I have a feeling that it wound last long I gotta admit I haven't seems designs like that before.

They are a lot stonger than they look, not everyones taste but certainly a very interesting case.

These are definitely unique 3D-printed cases, but they all have the same flaw: dirt & grime will easily work its way under the holes in the layered patterns.
I *would* consider one of these nice designs, but only after they incorporate a silicone or TPU inner core like my Incipio Silicrylic hybrid case.

Top Case Makers

Out of the top makers, who do you think will or should provide a case of some sort, personally I would like a sleek Otterbox or a Ringke Fusion. By the looks of it, a Ringke is in the production. Time will tell for that. But out of all honestly, I do not think Otterbox will deliver any time soon.

I really like the UAG cases. It would be a pity if there wasn't one for the Nexus 5.

I go for minisuit as their accessories are not that expensive but still of good quality. I used to like otterbox though.
Anyhow, I wonder if there's a forum or a survey website which offers list of top case makers online. I think that would help thousands of users who are looking for accessories online.

EDIT: I ordered a Cruzerlite case for the N5 when they had the free shipping deal and it shipped today

Running Diztronic TPU on my N4, matched well with N4's nice angular lines...so will look into their N5 offerings on amazon.

The N5 will be my first Nexus device. Is Ringke Fusion the best case protection?
I had a Samsung Smart Cover with my Note 2 and I don't want anymore something that hides the screen...

Are there any cases that wrap top to bottom instead of the sides?

I used to have a feather case for my GNex that wrapped top to bottom so that the sides were clean. The case wouldn't interfere with side swiping nor make the phone feel wider when you grab it. I haven't been able to find such a case yet. Even the thin cases still bulk up the sides. Does anybody know of a case like this for the N5?

Couldn't find the edit button on the XDA app. It wasn't the feather case it was the Ringke Slim.

i dont think there are any. i have the rearth slim one, spigen slim and another super slim one from ebay but i use none of them.
i've just been using my phone without a case. i ordered a matte black skin.
i dont like how the slim cases make the phone feel wider and a lil heavier either. if i drop it and scratch it i'll put one of the cases. thats what i did with my old s4. till then, i'll keep it naked.

That was probably just a one off.
The same thing happened with sunglasses... before realizing that going around the sides was a much better idea!!
