i have used the micro SD card to install Copilot and although the installation was done to the phone rather than the storage card it still requires the storage card to run.
Is there a way around this and run copilot without having the micro sd card in as i want to be able to have CoPilot and also get a new micro sd to store music etc on.
Thanks,
Chris
I dont use copilot myslef I use tomtom. However I would suggest that the program and maps voices etc will be to large to fit on the device, why not get a 2 gig micro sd card and have your music on it aswell.
As I said I dont use co pilot but I cant see you getting everything on the device. I did read somewhere that you can get a 4 gig card but never seen one myself or indeed have never had confirmation it will work.
Hope this helps
Never thought of transferring the Copilot SD data to a new bigger card through the PC as i thought it was too small but with the adapter will obviously fit in the card reader no problem. Thanks alot
I really want to like this new Desire. I have had it for one week. One of my uses for this device is to play feature length movies while traveling. My efforts to convert xvid and avi movies to the proper mp4 format has been simple using a variety of available programs. I verify that they play using Media player classic before transferring them to my sd card. No matter how I try I cannot get more than two movies to work on my 16gb Kingston card without either causing corruption of the entire card (requiring format) or the added video simply pop up with the "this video cannot be played" message. I have tried the 4gb card that came with the phone and the results are the same.
I am very good with a pc. I have tried every thing I can think of to get this to work. My phone was purchased from an authorized dealer in Hong Kong so it is not tied to any specific carrier. I have tried all available media players but that has no effect on this problem. I am thinking that this is an operating system error? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like either a slow speed card, or a poor quality or defective SD card to me.
Hi. I was watching a TV show avi file on my stock GPad stored on a 128GB class 10 Sandisk, when suddenly it stopped working and said something like "Cannot play this video" which was strange as it had played the previous episodes and half of that episode fine. I was using MX Player so thought I'd try the stock video player and it couldn't load the files either. I tried some other files both avi and mkv and no luck either. Then I loaded the video files onto the internal memory and they play fine so its not a problem with the files or the media players. Also all my music and photos that are stored on the SD card play back fine. So why did video files stop working? Anybody else have this issue?

Yes i have this exact same problem put movies on sd card to watch on flights you watch half way then stops so now only put on device memory and same as you no problems one way is to store on sd card then transfer to device memory to play.all this i suspect is the kit kat update
Try installing the sd card monitor app and see if you are getting a bad removal about the time that the playback problem happens. See the following thread:

For some reason, MX player cant play certain MKV files from the external SD but if I move that file to the internal storage it plays it just fine. Its this ROM/ Android version problem? For example: I have movie 1 and movie 2 on my external sd, Movie 1 plays fine but when I try to play Movie 2 I get the CANT PLAY THIS FILE message. Then I move Movie 2 to the internal storage and plays fine without issues.
Ok decided to make another test.
If I transfer a movie from my PC to the internal storage, the movie plays fine. Then I decided to move the movie to the external SD and tried to play the movie but no luck at all Cant play this file message again.
Moved the movie back to storage and now the movie wont play displaying the same message as in external SD, Cant play this file.
Took out the 64GB SD and mount an old 8GB SD to see if the problem is related to the SD it self.
After mounting the old 8GB SD and passing the movie again, it play fine on the old SD. Moved the movie to internal and worked fine too. Now the weird thing is that i mounted the 64GB SD back, passed the movie and is working fine this time. At this point I dont know what the issue is.
Decided to check the SD formats of each card, the 64gb is in exFAT while the 8bg is in FAT 32. That may explain part of the problem?
Hi
I have a significant problem using an External SD card for storing and playing music. I've now tried doubleTwist, Mediamonkey, Poweramp and Google Play Music. I've also tried just copying my music onto the SD card via PC/USB. So far none of these solutions allows me to even play music, let alone sync. Now I am using a 128GB card, is that the problem? I notice that the specs vary as to whether 64 or 128 is the max size supported. Or is it just a failing of android?

Does your SD card get recognized normally on the "Storage" settings?
I never had any problems with my 32gb class 10 SD card on my P8000. Every music plays without any problem.

Yes, it does and is recognized by my PC as a drive which I can copy files on to. Can I ask you what music app you use and how you get your music on your phone? Do you download it via the app? Do you use app2sd?
And I can load apps onto it with app2sd.

I see. Well, do you have any other SD card to test into it?! Because I really wpuld guess it could be related to the humongous 128gb size!
I use the Stock music app (actually Eragon's, which is the same as stock) and never had any issues. Did not download via app, and never used app2sd.

I think you might be right about the SD card. I'll buy a smaller one.

my 128GB Sandisk works perfect. I use the Shuttle Player, but many player work. You could try the Nexus ROM, maybe this can fix your problem. I will upload very soon the V2.3, i would recommend to test it.

Thank you. Eragon dev says he also doesn't have any problems with music.
I had to format my SD card on my PC to exFAT and now everything works in Nexus Rom.
