Posted this question in the rom development section as well but has anyone gotten the ota notification to update to ff18 on this rom? I've had it since last night wondering if this is safe to update I know I'll lose root most likely just worried if it will brick or not allow me to up due to having rogue recovery. All help is much appreciated didn't really here much back from the other section. Also here is a screen shot and don't mind the ICS look its blazers framework/system ui flashed over calks 3.0 rom

I would avoid it. If you want to go to ota follow the instructions in the forum or look up qbkings how to on updating
If you are on Calks ROM, it won't install. It will probably try but fail during the verification stage. Nothing will be broken, you just need to reboot and you'll be back where you left off.
Yeah what sfhub said. If you want FF18 I would flash a ROM from the Dev section.

I am currently on stock EK02 on my Sprint Samung Epic 4G touch. Battery life has been less than what I see others getting. So I am trying to understand the wakelock dump but the original post has me confused. I sorted the following dump by total_time. It looks like CarrierIQ is a burden, but was wondering about the audioOUTLOCK.
(I am waiting for the next Sprint update which will hopefully have nociq before resorting to keeping a hacked rom.)

Do realize that was no help at all what so ever? Are you just trying to get your post counts higher?
You actually think that someone who can do a wave lock dump does not know about EL13?

Look dude i am just trying to help if my answer didn't help you then I am sorry. If you would have known about no ciq then why you would you say you were waiting for no ciq update from sprint. I was just pointing out to no ciq el13

I didnt realy like the blue of the ics look so I began a theme that was just black and white.
This is for Racing19969 skyroket port only I have not tested It on anything else. Not that there is much else to test it on.
This is what I would call a rough draft of a theme I am still getting the hang of themeing ICS so not everytning is the way i would like it yet but it is a work in progress. I just thought i would give everyone some different choices.
Still working on getting all the blue and green out, the charging battery is still blue will get it in the next update and so are alot of the headers Cant find that file yet. Please leave a few ideas on what else to change I may or may not be able to do it but will try.
Instructions :
1. NANDROID BACKUP Always
2. Download Theme.zip via link below.
3. Place .zip on /sdcard
4. Flash via CWM
5. Enjoy!!
You may lose signal after flashing (has happened to me a few times) Just reboot and all will be good.
Download----- For Racing 19969 port only!!! http://db.tt/7HvV9y8S

I know back on the epic 4g touch Caulkin made a flashable zip that did everything for a clean install.
I know what to do and have no issue with doing a clean install... But a lot of issues I see is because people are doing dirty flashes.

I saw that right after I posted.. But it definitely would cut down on a lot of the posts from people having problems if this was made

Most ROMs have built in scripts to wipe what is necessary (cashe and dalvik). the only other thing you would need to wipe is data which is as easy if not easier than flashing a zip...just chose that option in recovery. no need for a wipe all.
Also the last wipe file that was made bricked more phones than just wiping properly in CWM/TWRP.

As the subject states; If I use tegrak on a Rom that is rooted stock plus recovery will I lose my installed recovery?
I only ask because e4gt has recovery built into the kernel and I've heard tegrak uses it's own kernel, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Sent from my A500 using Tapatalk 2
So far when I've used it I think it only loads a module the app needs for overclocking
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Never tried it myself but from what I've seen quite a few use tegrak successfully.

I use it constantly. I bought the paid version so I wouldn't have to keep resetting every boot. I'm on stock rooted kernel though. -GA10. So I'm not sure if it even works on custom roms. Are you on jellybean or ics? I don't know if the maker of tegrak got it to work on ics stock kernel but it definitely does on jellybean.

Thanks everyone for your input and good knowledge! I'm on CM10.1 so no tegrak for me unless touchwiz updates to 4.2 and becomes more impressive.
Thanks again everyone!
Mods feel free to zap this thread, my question has been answered.

How can I do this on CM10.1 if possible? I've been looking around trying to fix the poor camera quality and found that the camera firmware may be the culprit.

Never heard of anybody doing this. My camera is just fine on CM10.1.
Bumping this thread since I REALLY want a solution. My camera shots are just generally really noisy and blurred even if I try my best to keep the camera still.

i dont think you can. never heard of anyone doing this, on any android phone.
You can easily change the firmware on a TW ROM with the Samsung app or with zips that are posted but these options don't work with AOSP ROMs.

Firmware doesn't change between roms. Only system files and kernel changes. Firmware isn't even in an easily accessible partition and the only way I know to change hardware firmware is via odin flash or OTA updates. If you want the most recent firmware flash a GB27 oneclick then flash back to your aosp rom after flashing an ics modem.
