Themed Faux123-AOSP v1.1.4-b1
This is a themed version of Faux123's rom. I wanted to start this Rom mod because I want to better myself and android code and graphics as i am only a beginner and I hope in the future that i will be able to create my own rom.

The fonts when you hold the power down are a little off and cuts the words off like airplane mode. Other than that great job on the rom and keep the good work up

I definitely love the theme and icons you chose for this rom. I do have a few request. Can you theme the camera and dialer to match? Also, I love the black and white lock screen.

hey kid. How about you go to the theme section and post this there. This isn't in no way shape or form a rom. It's a kang with a theme like the other 90% of roms out in Xda. I do however give you kudos on not renaming 'dcbeast AOSP' or something of that nature. When will people learn.

I understand where your coming from and you're absolutely right that its not a rom or at least his own custom made rom, but give the guy a break. He said he's trying to learn how to develop roms. Let's not run away a potential developer by being rude.

Hmm... Well this is a ROM... Yes, it is kanged from faux which he gave all proper credit and made it clear.. It would make no sense to have this in the themes forum, since..uhh..it's not a theme...?

I appoligize to the mt4g xda community and to faux123 for post kang work and in the wrong section..
I just had know idea were to post this because i wanted to work on a rom a rather than just a theme itself but it did not want to try to build from scratch with any proir knowledge to android. i just wanted to work on a rom and try to fix things and make additions here an there until i eventually could develop somthing for the community that has given me so much and such an intrest in android and which was the main reason i got a mt4g. I will come back when i can develop a rom by myself or possibly with feedback from a different community.

Yes, but there is no need to make a whole ROM. Just make a flashable zip with the themed apps/framework. Ok. I'm done.

Don't be too harsh on him. He pm'ed me right before he posted this. I gave him 100% permission to do so. I wish I could have posted this earlier (I was out with my buddies). He said he wanted to learn about Rom cooking and he wanted to use my aosp as a learning tool, I told him to go right ahead and I even told him about a few hidden gems for my aosp so he can maximize the theming engine. Now he wrote me another pm to apologize to me and I was confused why he was apologizing until I saw this thread and the responses he received. We all start from somewhere and we all make rookie mistakes (I personally have made tons of mistakes), so lets cut him some slack and enjoy the time and effort he spent on this project and thank him for it.

exactly! y is this community so uptight about kanged work, especially when credit and permission is given, so many potential devs are lost this way... smh...

Thank you to the OP for this, and going about relaesing it the right way! Thanks to faux for the great base as well! Keep up the great work bro and I hope to see more from you! Finally this phone is getting some love, dont worry about the negativr ppl, just do you and release what you wish with proper credits and permission! I been crackflashin alot this last week and love all this new spice in my life! There are a few things that can be fixed here and there on this THEMED FAUX ROM, but all in all a great first release! Keep ot up bro!

Part two to the Honey Saga.. After Samuel2706 and his team did HoneySense for the Desire HD, they decided.. why just Sense? Maybe AOSP and MIUI can get the same treatment too...

Honeyogen is in it's early stages. It's based off of Cyanogenmod 7 so this is probably the part where you run away. If you followed Honeysense, you'd see how it much has changed in it, and how intensely themed it was. We're just getting started. This is just a wee little thread now, but when it blossoms, you'll be amazed, like I was.
You know what AOSP looks like, nothing magical has been added other than light theming. Once theming is heavier, I'll add in screenies.

Every aosp rom has CM7 in it,we all knw they are the BIG DOGS,but why every new dev or themer or whatever yall wanna call them come out people bash them left & right..Cm7 doesnt have alot roms with heavy themes,yes credit needs to be givin where its due,they lack that part but they'll learn...

this is actually a rom that was ported from desireHD [found here] there is a mention of it in his OP "(and GazaIan was the magical little boy that ported it to our phones )" He maybe should have thrown a link up to that site but either way he does mention the orignal dev and place of origin, but maybe need to list his "thanks" a bit better... you need to understand that every rom has a "base" whether it be AOSP/CM7/Sense or a combination of them.. So i would say this is a rom, a heavily themed rom, but its still a rom..IMO a theme would be something created for a specific rom that could be applied only to that rom, its all open for argument, but its not like any of us are a corporation with a staff of software engineers creating and developing overlays for android... so i dont know why u r creating this issue esp considering you are not even flashing it??? And i am not sure what the truth is about the Dev's on this board but i can tell you that no one here is getting paid like its a job nor is it an obligation for anyone.. this is a hobby for us nerds, u r not obligated to use any of these roms.. what u say is in no way constructive to the thread, so y do u even bother? Mods around here do a good job of keeping things right, dont think we need a rent-a-mod sh*tting on the board and devs..

Mention of these roms that the OP will port and has ported are in the OP..
To the OP, sweet port looks like they do good work.
Is anyone having issues with gaaps? I flashed the latest gapps 06/11 and I cannot use the browser or market no fc just immediately closes without notice... I reflashed a few times wiping every time of course, I am re downloading to check whether or not it was a bad dl....

Having the same issues. Market closes and no connecting to wifi after the usual formatting and wiping. Fixing permissions also did not work. Even tried flashing it directly over cm7 and didn't work.

actually that's just what I came to do today, because I was so tired that I just added it and left, but by the end of this week the thread is going to look sexy.
Btw as to the issues, I noticed them shortly after releasing them and I thought about pulling this back.. but nah, But I will be fixing them.

Indeed but we can strip and png crush
We could also attempt something like system2ext - for now we will probably use repartitioning zips as most of us devs are s-off.
Edit: it looks like using the SD for system is easy due to the way we can pretend it's part of the internal memory

I never really liked squashed roms.. but may have to pull the squasher out.
Hardware sounds strikingly similar.. anybody know of any other differentials other than [its] arm7 vs [our] arm6?

Just a different instruction set, no real problems, only really for game porting. Some libs will need to be changed.
The reason why it is hard to port games to armv6 is because v7 supports floating point calculation.

It does support it better; although the armv6l does have a lil virtual floating point. Main thing is you'd probably have to rewrite shaders for gaming. Luckily, that's not where we're at

Nice thread benj, also XDA newswriters said to me they will feature post the wildfire s about ics as soon as a sense 4 rom is available in some way, then I have to tell them. Then everyone will know about CM9 too.

If you're really desperate for space then alarms, notifications and ringtones can be stored on the sd card under /sdcard/Media/ in their respective folder.

uhh.. simon's computer went capoot, and I said I'd throw some time at it already... maybe that was Jmz's announcement thread.

INSTALLATION

The only reason its locked is due to the fact i havent post kernel source once i do they will be unlocked

Maybe I should give it a try.

First rom I tried of his wouldn't flash. Second force closed all over the place. Third was broken and the fourth was closed for plagiarism. So why would i try any more of his roms??? I prefer the person developing the rom I'm running on my phone (that I depend on!!!) is able to spell as well. Thanks but NO Thanks...

First rom I tried of his wouldn't flash. Second force closed all over the place. Third was broken and the fourth was closed for plagiarism. So why would i try any more of his roms??? I prefer the person developing the rom I'm running on my phone (that I depend on!!!) is able to spell as well. Thanks but NO Thanks...

PLUS EFFIN ONE!!!
I hate people that talk ****, if you aren't gonna try it don't put someone down who's puttin some kind of effort to giving us more options for our device.. If the ROM has some issues point them out after testing it... That is what we're here for right? to provide feedback so we can get our ROMs to constantly improve for the better of the community? If you don't wanna be apart of it then don't but don't go puttin other people down... Unless your making some amazing ROMs yourself then you have no room to talk, and if you were making some amazing ROMs you'd probably be trying to help other devs out.. juss sayin..

Wasn't meaning to bash.....just thought I'd throw out my 2 cents......cool seeing more roms, if they are gonna be looked after and nurtured..... hate getting into a rom at the beginning just to see it flounder..... and thinking it would be easier to port/build one or two roms and keep those rolling than trying to keep up 5 or 6 or more...... good luck too ya man.....

Closed, porting roms without permission from the original developer is against XDA rules and generally bad form.
To quote the rules
12. Using the work of others.

If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. PS:sorry for the "overdoing" am just soo exited....BTW I tried this on GEN Y sense 4.0A, ANDROMADUS TEST BUILDS, SENSE REVOLUTION,AUDACITY 5, and Ice cream sensewich....and guess what?....IT WAS AMAZING it literally transformed my G2 into a beast whilst keeping battery consumption at a reasonable rate..... yes it belongs in the general section as this is only a link to mod, and at most a discussion page about that mod.
i am curious to see what kind of true test can be done to prove this has a positive effect. as far as i can tell most any benefit would probably just be the placebo effect but i guess thats just speculation as i havent tried it yet. (its hard for me to use some thing that will "pimp" anything)
it mostly seems to add what a good rom already would have, and done on a universal basis at that. so i may be skeptical but i feel its for reason maybe when i have some time this weekend ill go get my self pimped (that was hard to say)

Well, this mod might be cool, but the guy from mimicry (blk_jack), told us ( few pages back), that its kind of useless since he did most of the ''pimp my rom'' mods in his rom.
You'll have better results on a stock rom.
Well, I didnt try it yet, I'm just saying what others said.

Oh sorry bro...... Should have made it clear you had a problem with the word pimp *chocking* or maybe the colour of the guy who made this...... Once again am very sorry....I think the mod will close this when he wakes up.....very nice to see the 60's coming back:thumbup:

Also don't get all grumpy when people say this belongs in the general section when it clearly belongs in the general section.
This mod does all the things we already know, so it is not contributing to any development of our device.

pimp does not mean black if thats where you are going with that. you may get certain connotations from the word pimp and i have others.
try to contain yourself and for all you know im a minority (actually i am) but thats besides the point. if you want me to go into to detail what i find laughable and somewhat disgraceful about the word pimp i can, but i wont be wasting time on this forum doing that.

This mod yes must be in general them better not delete it just clear it. I don't know if all settings of the mod are working but sure the 3g tweaks are working. My carrier name from Cosmote changed to 3G Cosmote. I don't know if is just a rename.

It really works great for me with the Mimicry ROM.
Just the GPS Fr conf doesn't seems really usefull. I put my old one witch was better...

I used it on cm9 and it worked really well. Wasn't a placebo affect others say. I'm sure most roms have most tweaks already. But maybe not all. Helped my phone run smoother and its been a week or so
