Got my SGP/SPigen Ultra Nano Clear install on Friday.
I'm generally very good at dry protector installs. I've done it many times and know all of the tricks.
I have a couple of issues with this product.
First, it's so thin that's it's very hard to take off the top and bottom protective screens. I was able to get it done, but I bent the plastic a tiny bit down by the home button and it sticks up a little bit there. That's really a non-issue and isn't real noticeable.
Next, and more of a pressing issue, is that the protector scratches VERY easily. I keep it in my pocket (a pretty clean pocket) and there are already a bunch of scratches on the protector. With the screen on bright, you can't really tell, but with it off, they are pretty clear.
If I have that many scratches in a 3 days, it'll probably be near unusable in a month.
I generally don't like screen protectors on gorilla glass, but I know the glass can scratch. But it's kind of silly to have something over the top of it that's already scratched up. Might as well just take a chance on the gorilla glass not scratching then.
Anyone else notice that these scratch very easily?
Have had it on almost 2 weeks now and no scratches at all. I would maybe try another one since you do get 3.
mine has some but not noticable at all unless u are looking for them. ive had mine one for about 2 weeks with a case.
I've had mine on for 5 days.. I usually find these things a complete pain to install, but this one went on first try. Mine has no scratches whatsoever, crystal clear and covers enough of the glass in my opinion. I agree it was a little bit difficult to separate the protective back layer when installing, but if you just pull it from the two tabs (top and bottom protector tabs), it will come off.
As I said, it's not overly noticeable, but with the screen off, you can easily tell there's quite a bit of scratching.
I purchased this via ebay (authorized reseller). They just wrote back and gave me a very fair offer. If I pay the $2 difference, they'll ship me out the ultra crystal product.
I took them up on their offer.

Ultra Crystal? You sure that's what they offered? That product was discontinued a few weeks ago because it peels up at the edge. It was replaced by the Ultra Nano, and the soon to be released Curve Crystal (the true successor)

Good point. Their email is a bit confusing, but I think they did mean the curve crystal.
keep us updated but im loving my nano so far.
Thanks for the review! I don't have the screen protector but I've been reading a lot of posts/reviews and it seems that the issues you mentioned regarding the tricky installation and frequent scratches are rather common. At the same time, users appear to be divided on the product...
In any case, hope things work out with the seller :fingers-crossed:
I have this screen protector and love it. It's very thin and easy to install. I can't even tell it's there. It doesn't peel up on the edges and works well with the cases that I have tried. I have had it for 2 weeks with no scratches. I don't put my phone in my pocket though.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
You definitely can't tell it's there, it doesn't pull up, it feels like your finger is on glass and the fact that it didn't go all the way to the edges is minimally bothersome.
Install is tough and scratches are the deal breaker for me.
Will update if they do or don't honor their offer.
had a really easy time with this one. no lint at all underneath, looks barely visible, so far so good. just bought neo hybrid. with kyanROM this phone is just the best.

I love this screen protector. Came with my sgp ultra thin case (which I also love)
Thin, perfect cutouts, absolutely no orange peel, no distortion..
It does feel grippy AT FIRST. Use it for a bit and it feels like glass again
Very happy with mine. I haven't installed a cover in a couple years and I got the first one on fine and it is only visible if you look around the edge. With a Diztronic case, there is barely any exposed surface in the front. It was a bit tacky at first, but it quickly went away after using it.
I was going to buy the new full screen version, but I think this one might be better for future cases I might get.
i am not happy with this product, got it cause it sounded good and looked good but it doesnt last. i received/installed on 7/24/12 and not long after having it on my phone i started noticing small scratches from the few coins i would have in my pocket, then over the weekend i had it in the pocket of my cargo shorts with my pocket knife clipped on there aswell i pulled my phone out to mess with it and the protector was scratched to holy heck and starting to come loose around the home button, i carried my DX like this during the time i had it with no problems using a Zagg. if this is how "good" their product is i wouldnt buy anything else from them.

The Realook 3D screen protector arrived earlier than expected. I installed it and so far it has been great. It's a dry application film but it covers the entire screen. Applying it went smoothly and the cutouts aligned perfect. It is barely noticeable and viewing angles are not affected. The film feels very smooth and fingerprints are easy to wipe off. There is an extremely small portion of exposed screen on top and along one side (can be seen in the photo) but it is negligible. I did start applying it from the bottom left corner so this could be why mine came out this way. It's a 3H hard coating so it should be slightly more durable than SPG's Curved Crystal which is 2H. My prior experiences with Realook have been excellent so I'm expecting this one to last for a while.
Since it does cover the entire screen there is a compatibility issue with TPU cases such as Diztronic. However, it does fit my Urban Armor Gear case perfectly so it may fit your heavy duty case. My other cases (Ringke SlimLite, SPG Neo Hybrid and SPG Modello) are also compatible with the Realook 3D screen protector.
I used to own the SPG Flex HD and Ultra Nano. I definitely recommend this one over those two because you don't have to deal with the issues that come with wet application screen protectors and it covers more screen than the Ultra Nano while still being just as clear. I bought the Realook 3D at Amazon for $9.99.
Items included:
-2 3D screen protection films
-Microfiber cloth with squeegee
-Alcohol pad (to clean oily fingers)
-Filament tape

Have you experienced any bubbling with this? I read in another post someone experiencing this...any info would be great since idk if I want this or the Zagg HD. looks great from the pics
I can vouch for realook. I still have mine on my original galaxy s for 2 years and it still doesn't have a scratch. They do last a long time. They are also very clear. I will definitely be ordering this.

No bubbling present anywhere on the screen. All bubbles came out easily with the squeegee and there is no lint or hair present. I applied it in the bathroom after some steam built up and all particles in the air settled. Tight TPU cases will cause lifting in the sides.

You forgot to mention how does it feel. Super smooth? Any rubbery feeling? I used the Realook for my S2 awhile back and loved it. Didn't know if the 3D forming is the same material they used for the S2 screen protectors.

Thanks for the review.
Is this protector as easily dented as SGP's Curved Crystal is now known&hated for (from the softer material used)? Take your fingernail, apply a little pressure (doesn't take much apparently), and run it down the screen to see if it leaves a groove that won't go away.
Appreciate it...

Just did it and it does have the same SPG issue. I guess this is the only type of material that will allow for dry full screen application. However, from normal use I have not experienced this groove...but I do tend to keep my nails short.

Hmm. Well that sucks - thanks.
I think I may just end up using the updated SGP Ultra Crystal version instead, then. It may not be full coverage, but it's made of a much harder plastic.
Installed it yesterday and am definitely pleased with it! Might order GLAS by SPG when a blue version comes out but in the meantime this is great.
do you think this will work with the diztronic tpu?
I have this paired with the Otterbox Commuter and all is good. You should be fine

Just installed this and using it paired with an Active case. Was fairly easy to install. No bubbles or marks from the squeegee (they supply a nice rubber one unlike some of the cardboard/plastic ones that come with some others), crystal clear, and smooth when swiping between screens. Not sure how nice it will play with my Quicksand case but time will tell.

Nope. For me it's only along two sides. My friend installed his perfectly without gaps. A reason could be because there is a small amount of error in the manufacturing process so someone is bound to receive one film not perfectly cut. I have no complaints about it though.

I ordered this to compare to SGPs Curved Crystal. The SGPCC I received left a very small gap between the bezel and the protector. It was a nice protector. Very prone to fingerprints, grease and smuding however. I always had these tiny rainbow streaks that would irritate the hell out of me.
I ruined the first 1 because I had a spec of dust get in there and I'm anal about that sort of thing. When removing the spec I incidentally removed a small piece of adhesive from the corner. Couldn't stand lookin at it. XD
The RL protector should arrive tomorrow or Saturday.
I've had this on for about 1 week and I'm a little disappointed. The screen protector is not self healing, I have numerous dents and grooves. I just noticed a nice scrap on the protector tonight. I will order the SGP Curve tomorrow in hopes that it will be a better product.
I usually don't create threads and make posts but I haven't seem much talk about this product and decided to share my experiences.
I bought the iloome screen mate screen protector after watching flossy carters youtube review and he said it was "A GO". I have had it installed for about 2 days and so far so good. It is tempered glass so it is super smooth and clear. It is not edge to edge (but pretty close) so my cases still fit without a problem.
The touch sensitivity is good but not great. Every so often I do get missed registers but it is not that bad. I installed it slightly off of the back button and I have some problems getting that button to work from time to time but this is not the screens fault, it is mine.
I had the Zagg and hated the sticky feeling of it, the small wrinkles and it make the screen a bit blurry. The iLoome feels and looks just like the naked screen.
If you are looking for a new screen protector I recommend you take a look at this one.

The camera, ear piece, sensor are all cut out. Menu, back, notification light are not but have an outline of the buttons, so if you line it up correctly, you can see the back light of the menu and back buttons.
it also comes with two home button covers to match the height of the new screen after installed.
I just got this yesterday after having seen Flossys video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0LTYSfrcb8 Great product, went on with no bubbles. I was a bit worried about my case fitting (Trident Kraken), but it worked perfectly.
correction to previous post the only cut outs are the ear piece and the home button, i just took mine off today after about two weeks of use. there is a notable change in screen response a as not a big deal to some, to me it was too bad and the fact that the uag and other various cases i own did fit, they didn't fit correctly ex. the volume and power buttons being more difficult to press for me anyway. I also dropped my phone with this on from about 3inches and it cracked by the ear piece. others may have had better luck maybe i just got a bad one out of the bunch but in my own experiences i wouldn't choose to buy this again...
So the cut outs are just clear cut outs then?

How much woild this score over 10?
I never really paid attention to the samsung logo being covered until you said something about it.
What do you mean score over 10?
I have had it for over a week now and still like it.. I love how it feels to most. Out of all of the screen protectors I have tried, Zagg, Zagg HD, the cheap ones from the mall, this is the best by far! It does catch finger smudges like the naked screen but quick wipe on your paints removes them very easily. I highly suggest this product, just be sure to install it correctly to reduce frustration that I am having with the back button sensitivity. You can install a rom with nav buttons to fix that but I like my screen real estate.
I was excited to see a glass protector for th s3. Thanks to Erica Griffin's excellent YouTube review. Since spigen's glas discontinued due to screen sensitivity issues, I have been using their ultra crystal and nano clear plastic protectors. They were good, but I miss the feel of glass, and finger prints aren't as easily wiped off compared to glass. anyway, I Just installed the iloome screenmate last night for my S3. I got it on 95% perfect, no issues due to installation like the OP. However, I do have a complaint on the Sensitivity reduction. there have been unresponsive touches, almost seem like I have to press harder than usual. It's really annoying. I'll put up with the dots, but screen sensitivity is important to me. It sucks when the plastic films are more sensitive than the iloome glass.

update: it's been a few days. i am getting a little used to the iloome glass. If I have to do it over again, I'll stay with the plastic film protectors. Now I just have to accept the iloome glass is as good as it'll get for the S3. Lessons learned, don't get a phone with curved screen if you like glass protectors.
I have the iloome and like it a lot. I had one a few weeks ago that the glue failed on, iloome gave me a quick friendly refund. I figured I'd go back to plastic, after two weeks I really missed the feel of glass and reordered the iloome. I have a little bit of a rainbow effect under the glass but I have to look for it to see it. At this p point I'm extremely happy with the iloome.
To answer the earlier post I'm at a high 8 out of 10.
Following is an image of the rainbow effect I see. (note it I rarely notice it unless I am looking for it.

update #2: I have the iloome creame case along side with tempered glass. The case is your typical hard plastic case that provides minimal (if any) drop protection. The fit and finish is very good, and doesn't feel cheap. Anyway, my 1 year old grab my phone from the table and threw it to the tile floor. It landed on the corner of the phone, cracked the iloome tempered glass, nothing else is damaged.
So yes, it probably saved my screen, and I am grateful.
iloome doesnt back their product...email only!!
Bought the iloome tempered glass for my Note 3..did the shower antidust/debris thing- 10 minutes.. washed hands..set everything up- read directions..cleaned phone- cleaned phone again..(cleaned until my facial hair grew back)
yet.. after carefully applying the glass, there we go..debris under glass.
carefully lifted glass..no breakage- tried to use dust stickers, scotch tape on both surfaces..
applied again..same debris. emailed iloome- stated issue- the problem here is static electricity!! not just airborne dust. they will not exchange. only sell you another one at a discount..although ismooth and other companys provide phone numbers to call them, and even offer to send you more to help out.. Iloome does not. My advice?
Buyer beware! destatic yourself..( like when handling electrical chipsets..)memory chips, etc.) very frustrating to WASTE almost 30 bucks to accomplish this CLEANROOM NECESSARY process. maybe its time to tell some companies where to put their gadgets.
Hi all,
the MIME Feather Glass is out!
http://mimeusa.com/product/htc-one-feather-glass-tempered-glass-screen-protector/
The MIME Ghost Glass screen protector got some nice reviews for the HTC One. Does anyone have an opinion about the Feather Glass?
nice, at least a company who doesnt desert htc one like SGP, and they ship to UK. ill be getting one soon
ordered!!!
Thanks for the update on the feather screen protector. I ordered it and I will be sure to update this thread when I see how it is!
ordered!!! :good::good::good:
Ha my Ghost just arrived today and I love it. If I only knew a few days ago I may have waited but it Looks like the only difference is $27.95 and .15mm compared to the original $24.95 @ .32mm. No biggiie.
Comparing my ghost to the zagg which I had for months. The zagg is like rubbing fingers across my hairy legs, the ghost is like rubbing my beautiful wife's silky smooth thighs and butt :good:

Damn, wish I saw this thread first before replying to the Ghost Glass thread lol, but yeah, just ordered one to replace my broken Ghost Glass (I tried re-applying it after removing the review unit of the Mongrel Glass screen protector I received a few months back). MIME actually gave me a 50% off coupon for the Ghost but I noticed that they just released the Feather Glass so tried to use the coupon for that, and BANG. It worked! So now I'm just waiting for this new baby to arrive and hopefully it is just as good (or even better) than the Ghost Glass.
I ordered mine today as well. I'm very excited. IMHO I think tempered glass screen protectors are the smartphone innovation of the year! Im so glad I don't have to use that orange peel rubber feeling zagg crap anymore! I will give my thorough review here when I receive it.
I've got Feather Glass on the way as well. A case (Ballistic SG) should be waiting for me when I get home this evening. I'm trying to decide whether to put the case on or just wait until the screen protector arrives and do them both once and for all.
Please post pictures when you guys have it installed
Got it!!
So I recieved my Feather glass screen protector over the weekend. It is amazinggg
I cannot stress it enough. I dont know how to take good pictures right now since all I have is my phone.. which the glass is connected to..so yup haha
But I will say this
1) packaging is secure and very neat.
2) It comes with:
1 lint wipe thing
1 Anti dust screen applicator ( for before installation to remove dust off the screen)
1 Glass screen protector in its own slip to ensure no scratching or breaking
1 box with a cool mime face on the front
The instructions are decent in providing application pictures and is really not hard as long as you make sure to remove all of the dust off the screen. I used a alcohol based wipes which reallly help with removing the dust and making sure dust stays off while you place the protector on. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006CRYSZ8/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I placed the screen protector on very carefully and was nervous but as soon as it went on it started to natureally adhere to the screen. I got it in pretty good position and saw one bubble in themiddle of the screen. I sort of like pushed it out with my fingers and now the screen protector has no bubbles! The corners all stick down and it really feels smooth. The edges are not sharp and are rounded so has not to cut your fingers. The protector just feels like there is a ridge where the speaker grill and meets the phone. I had some gap there in the first place (zero gap my ass!) But it isnt a big deal at all
The screen is responsive and very smooth and really is great. Ive been searching for a screen protector for quite awhile and never wanted anything that wouldnt feel smooth like glass. This is so thin that it is barely noticeable and I cant say enough how great it is (so far! mind you)
PLUS I have a UAG black case and I put it on and it meets right where the sides of the protector meet so it is perfect even with the case.
sorry for no pics but if I can do it later I will

That's awesome man. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive here in Australia. Hopefully not too far off because my Ghost Glass is really playing up on me now.
My Feather Glass was waiting for me when I got home. Maybe I just got lucky but for me, it went on almost perfectly. I say "almost" because of one tiny bubble that's not visible when the screen is on. I didn't experience the problems with getting the corners to stick as some other posters have mentioned.
So with a Ballistic SG case and the screen protector, my One is swaddled up tight. I think I'll go throw it down a flight of stairs just to see what happens (yeah, right!).
I had the glas slim screen protector for the last few months and it eventually gave its life up to rubbing along sand at the beach. It had a long gash and time for a new protector. I picked up the mime feather glass from the company's website and put it on last night. I've used many protectors but none has had a separate dust sheet that the feather had. I washed my hands, laid out the dust thing and glass. I cleaned the glass with the supplied cloth, then use the dust sheet. I worried it would leave something sticky, but nothing but a dustless glass. I pealed the protector off the feather and just placed it on the HTC. It's pretty cool the way the feather adhesive flows from the middle out. But I goofed up, I was off on the bottom. So I carefully pulled it up, careful not to touch the sides. Tried again and perfect. No bubbles and perfect fit with a Poetic atmosphere case. So the verdict? Love the touch of the feather, just like the naked HTC screen. Smooth and great feel. I feel confident it will protect my screen and keep it as its meant to be, smooth.
I saw some folks asking for a pic, hope this helps.

It has the oleophobic coating so yes, it's somewhat anti-fingerprint. It's not nearly as bad as my old Thunderbolt.
i am ordering one and it says .15mm how is that possible its like paper thin?

Yep. It's pretty, pretty, pretty..... pretty thin. These guys say they're glaziers so I suppose they are adept at lapping the glass to this level.

Picked up the Samsung Screen Protector yesterday - knew it was a plastic one not tempered glass, but after experiencing issues with the tempered glass protectors on my wife's S7 Edge I thought I'd just go with the one Samsung sold.
Unfortunately I'm not happy with it at all - looked fine on the phone by itself, but kept lifting up on the edges as soon as I put a case on it (Spigen Slim Armor)
So given the choice of screen protector or case - I think I'll go with case.
Even when I pushed the edges down while the case was on it still kept lifting - this is what it looked like after an hour in my pocket:

So if you're considering the Samsung branded screen protector - beware.
Shoot, I literally just ordered one. About to cancel. Thanks for the heads-up.

I got one of these as well. Took it off after a day because it looked awful. Currently running naked which makes me nervous
Nothing was available when I preordered the phone. So I ordered the Liquid Nano stuff from Amazon. It's supposed to fill in any of the imperfections in the glass and help prevent cracks and scratches. So far so good, but it hasn't been a week yet. I'm a little skeptical but I haven't seen any screen protectors that look worth a damn. I don't believe we'll ever see a good curved glass protector, one with adhesive on all sections of the glass. I will say the liquid nano seems to repel skin oils really well and it says it'll last 2 years. I'll give it a month before I say it's good or not.

Where did you buy it?

Bought this too. It's fully compatible with the Ringke Slim case since it doesn't lift around the edges. The only issue I've had with this screen protector is that the edges seem to collect dust - after 2 days, it looks like there's a thin white border all around. At least it doesn't lift with my case.
The Suprecool Screen Protector for S8 Plus in itself is great, I cannot even feel it, and it feels like it will be at least some form of protection, I have yet to drop it, and don't really feel like testing my Phone.
Can clearly see that it's your case peeling the protector, get a new case that doesn't lift the protector off, apply it correctly and you will have no issues.
Im using the same protector but with the clear case from Samsung wich doesn't peel the protector like yours is doing, no issues, ill take one pic tomorrow.
I ended up getting a pack of these after I posted on April 24th and I was able to successfully install the first one flawlessly and it's still on looking great. No peeling or anything. Wasn't hard to install either. Had a few small bubbles that disappeared within an hour.

Any updates regarding the liquid nano? Which brand did you bought?
I think it's not available in India
Edit:- Here it is.. but I have doubt that it's not genuine because all 38 reviews from out side of India

I use the official Samsung Screen Protector and also use the Alcantara case and have had no problems. In fact, all the cases I've used have had no problems with this screen protector. There is a very slight edge lift on all the edges, but it shouldn't interfere with the screen and it shouldn't continue past the bezels. Mine was installed in the Samsung Store by an employee.

This lip on all the edges was actually my problem, in fact it was a little bit more pronounced on the right edge; but you could feel it clearly when swiping and it obviously collects dust in time, looking more and more terrible....

Hm, that's interesting. It hasn't happened to me... yet. I've had the screen protector for about a month. I'll update if this does happen unless I get some major scratch soon.

I don't know. But it was perfectly aligned and installed by the seller in Samsung Store.....
If you say it didn't raise further from the edges and didn't collect dust in about a month, maybe I'll try another one...
Thanks!
Got this and no issues with it yet. The screen feels more natural (like the actual phone) as opposed to the spigen one i used - which ironically the reason why i changed was because it was lifting after a coupe of hours.
the case is the issue - not the screen protector.
Re the nano liquid - waste of money. Mine slide down my ironing board when I folded it, and gently hit the floor and folded face down onto wood flooring - result was a chip in the middle of the glass. These merely help to keep the screen a little cleaner. Thats all.
Hello S8 & S8+ owners,
In search for a good screen protector we almost tried everything available at the market, the favorite for me so far was the one from Spigen as it is compatible with almost all the covers you can purchase, but it's life is short and get a lot of marks and scratches over the days
So i decided to try the Official Screen Protector

The Package has 2 screen protectors, once you hold it you can feel that it's a hybrid between film and tempered glass, it's hard and flexible at the same time
If you are used to apply the old film screen protector using a credit card pushing the air at same time you applying the screen protector you will get a great result, no one at the youtube videos managed to apply it with the lowest amount of air bubbles
something great about it that the air bubbles fade away within one or two days , i guess it has also a self healing mechanism because while i was trying to force the air bubbles out of it there was a lines or scratches under it but its all gone now and it's very clear
it's touch is nice and you can feel that your finger is sliding on it , very close to the original glass
It's a little bit thick so Samsung called it for External Shock and i guess it will do a good job regarding the minor shocks.
The thing i don't like about it that it's not compatible with spigen cases or any other case that cover a part of screen , it works very fine with covers like Nillkin Frosted Shield
I guess it's the best option available there if you use your phone without cover or with a very slim cover and i guess it will be compatible with Samsung original covers but i don't have any to try
This actually looks good, shame it isn't case friendly.
I've had this on for about a month. Best option I've come across so far. I just trimmed the top and bottom about ⅛" before installing so it wouldn't interfere with cases

I have this one installed on mine too. All good except that there's a white border around it as if it's dust stuck underneath.

A screwdriver might not scratch your screen, but a single grain of sand will scratch your screen. Go ahead and try it.

Hello,
does the original screen protector any good? i ask because i have one in my phone and it´s already 2 little marks on the screen protector. Most of the time i use the s view stand cover and the LED cover, and a few times the silocone cover.
I thought this screen protector was a against little scratches, but as far as i can see it´s not like that. i don´t belive this is so strong as samsung claim

I bought the Ounier Full Coverage Bubble-Free Screen Protector as it was one of the first brands to come up when searching for screen protectors for Samsung Galaxy S9. My phone is fairly new and I needed to have it fully protected first before I include it in my busy daily routine. I’m the kind of person who chooses convenience over price, but as this product was recommended by a friend (for his S8), I gave it a chance. Besides, It’s really great that the pack has 2 screen protectors; the easier to change, the better. I’ve also had bad experiences with other screen protectors for my old phones as they sometimes hinder with some of the phone’s features, like the double tap, the sensors, etc. Since my friend can’t recall any troubles at all with this protector, this eased my mind a bit with what it had to offer.
I’ve always admired how my friend’s phone looked so seamless and smooth, it always fooled me thinking that his screen protector came with the phone when he purchased it. To my surprise, he installed it himself. Now I’m not a bad friend, but this guy can get excruciatingly stupid at times. I thought if someone as dense as him had managed to somehow not mess up with wet installation, how hard can it be?
I got the screen protectors, a squeegee, a tiny piece of cloth, a manual, and a small bottle spray solution. I’m the old-fashioned type, I never even knew that “wet installation” is actually a thing if not for my buddy. All these items looked so weird to me. I’ll never understand how people come up with this stuff but if it works, then it's fine with me.
The installation was a bit hard for me. Even with my old phones that had the typical stick-on screen protectors, I always have someone else do it or have it pre-installed before I buy the phone. Still, I’m really just doing this task because I was inspired by my friend, and I wanted to rise up to the challenge.
Upon getting ready, I tried to clean the phone. I realized I forgot to put some solution on the cloth, that’s why I was struggling to really make the phone dust-free. Reading through the instructions, I can’t believe how wet my phone would be while doing this. I mean, is it really supposed to be like that? Watching a video I found online helped me clear up the confusion. It really is a sloppy process.
I tried keeping the screen protector down when I already applied the solution. I think I put too much of the solution which made everything slide where I didn’t want them to. I was getting impatient and thinking I can start over with the second protector. Luckily, the squeegee worked wonders. It was so satisfying to watch the bubbles go away while I was clearing them. What bothered me though, is the edges took some time to stick to the screen. I needed to press the edges down with my palm repeatedly until it stuck into place. My friend suggested to let the film set for at least 5-10 minutes so it would stick and using a hairdryer can really come in handy as it won't adhere if it is too wet, especially on the edges.
I almost messed up too when I failed to align the corners where they should be (camera, sensors, speakers). Good thing was that the screen protector kept moving around. Just be careful not to press down with the squeegee too hard as the film stretches quite easily. You wouldn’t want a deformed screen protector, of course. If you’re having trouble clearing the bubbles, take your time.
Once looking crisp and free from air bubbles, I left it for a solid 30 minutes to sit. I went back to it to make sure I had all sides pressed firmly down. Thinking I was done at last, the manual said it’s important to leave it for a few hours. It was also stated that the bubbles will gradually disappear as soon as the moisture underneath the film completely dried up. It might take overnight or a day for some but bottom line is just trust the manufacturer that it would work. I impatiently left it overnight and checked it at the crack of dawn.
Here comes the testing part. There were no swiping and tapping issues after placing the film. I was also worried that rainbow colors will be visible since it was a wet installation, but there were none! I don't know if it's a bad idea but I intentionally scratched it with my nails to see if it would leave a mark. The following day, the scratch was still there but already faded and was hardly noticeable. I was amazed and I’m counting on it to make my phone look brand new for a long time.
Translucent, sleek, sexy — that’s exactly how my phone screen looked. I almost feel bad that I underestimated the installation part as I almost wanted to throw the first screen protector I used. If done correctly and patiently, you will have a premium looking phone. Don’t rush it if you don’t want to regret it. So for you guys who are afraid of the “wet installation”, give it a try. It was a bit difficult for me, but I’ll do it again if it means maintaining the high quality of my Samsung Galaxy S9. And besides, the S9
