Flash version 8GB, 1GB RAM, OMAP4460. All is working except the micro-USB port which snapped off (it was simply cheaply soldered on with no other mounting, silly archos) It will require some soldering skills to fix as the connection points are pretty small, however it could easily be used for scrap parts. The screen retails for ~$50 USD, and it has a perfectly good working battery (only about a month old), 8gb NAND, motherboard RAM CPU etc. I figure $100 USD is fair. Includes shipping unless it'll cost more than say $20 bucks.

I may need some spare parts as my display just stopped working. I live in the Tacoma area so we could just meet if I can't fix mine. Please send me a PM or email if you still have it.

Thanks. I'll check it tonight.
Still available if anyone wants. I may post to ebay however i have never sold on there before..
I am still interested, but still waiting to hear more info on the tablet screen operation and functions so I know it will fix my problem. If you get a valid offer from someone else before I determine the problem, go ahead and sell it. I did order a 2nd tablet from Newegg. I still want to fix this one for my son.

I could take pictures, but the only broken part is the small USB jack

I bought a 2nd tablet, but I am still interested in yours. I know now the screen touch device chip is attached to the back of the screen, so a new screen would probably repair my old one. How long did you list it for on ebay?

Hey guys. I have gotten alot from this website so I would like to give back. I own and operate a mobile phone repair shop and would like to extend my services to this forum. Most of you seem pretty techical so even if you just want the part (microphone, ear speaker, Loud speaker, LCD) I will provide it for you at a low cost plus shipping of course. I mostly deal with hardware issues so please don't PM me or post asking about software, I am a total noob when it comes to that!
Thanks again to all the rom builders and contributers who have helped make my phone awsome!
If you can source the vibrate motor for an HTC S710 I would be forever grateful. Where abouts are you located?
EDIT: I see you're in Phoenix.
Most of the parts I carry are for US released HTC phones but often they carry simular parts. If you can post a picture of what it looks like I'll see if I have a match.
I will upload a picture in a little bit, however here are the specifications from the HTC Vox Service Manual for the motor;
JT0406-30CSR1, JNTECH, Cylindrical, 3V, 100mA, 12000+/-3000 rpm, 60/-, 20degC, 11.2*5.1*5.8mm
The cylinder has J7D05 printed on it and has 2 prongs that make contact to the pad on the PCB. I've tried many different other motors but none of them physically fit in the spot. So if you have any motor rated to those specs and is smaller or equal to the dimensions above, I will take it.
Here are two pictures of it. They are quite large, so not inlined. Not my camera, one of those funky digital ones that I have no idea how to adjust the focus on.

I'll check my inventory tomorrow. The shop is closed for today, it being the 4th of July and all.
Ah yes. Thanks, I shall await your response in great excitement.
Happy Indie Day!
A friend of mine has an O2 XDA Orbit but the usb works for charging but not for the data link.
Is this fixable? and if so, do you perform the fixes !!!!
@pna
I had the same problem with my Dash/Excalibur. I had to turn off the USB charging feature in the settings and then the data worked fine. I just either turn it back on if I need to charge via USB on my PC and don't have a wall charger handy. Tell your friend to try that.
Edit:
Also Turn off Advanced Network Functionality to along with charging over USB.

If the pins in the socket look straight re-flow the solder on the mainboard or get someone to do it. It's fairly easy. New sockets are about $4 on fleabay but as there are multiple lines close together you do need skill to replace.

Sorry friend. I don't have one that looks like that by HTC. However the T-Mobile Sidekick 3 vibrator does look like it. If I had it here to test I would be able to look closer. Once again, sorry friend.

Right on! I have been wanting to replace the metal bezel that goes around the front of the AT&T 8525 (U.S. HTC Hemes). Mine has gotten quite scratched and scuffed over the last year, and I would love to have it returned to it's original clean, shiny look.
Do you happen to carry this part by any chance? Or know of an affordable place to obtain one?
I get mine from a guy on ebay. I used my last 3 over the holiday weekend so I am out till I order some more on Monday. They are about $28 shipped. Link below....

If you need the full housing email Amit / Raki Computers and ask - they have them as well at not much more $ ( about $26 IIRC) if you ask although the parts they sell are used / stripped from BER phones so some have minor marks and it's pot luck.

Yes. We've got software support and now hardware support. This thread needs to be stickied.
Hey guy's:
Due to the high demand of memory for upcomming OS's I thought I would give you an opportunity to upgrade the memory of your Uni. As you know, one of my friends did the upgrade for me here (in Bangladesh). I discussed with him personally last night for his service and he has shown some interest.
Now I need to know spending how much is actually worth/comfortable for you. I'll then discuss with him further. But please note, chip has to be ordered/bought from eBay.
Let me know if your are interested.
UPDATE:
Details for upgrade -
UPGRADE COST: USD 100 - included chips+service charge+return shipping (regular post).
UPGRADE COST: USD 110 - included chips+service charge+return shipping (express post). But Express post service is available for limited number of countries.
You can provide the chips if you want but they have to proven working. 20$ will be deducted from the total cost in this case.
You must bear the cost for shipping from your end.
Complete device is not accepted. You need to unmount the device and send ONLY the mainboard without any other assembly.
The mainboard must be well-packed during shipping. The same packaging may be used for return shipping.
The whole process could take approximately 6-8 weeks (including shipping/upgrade/return shipping).
I will not take the responsibility in case the board is damaged or lost during transit.
Due to export control regulation: some of the countries are considered out of this project. i.e. Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and all other countries those has direct border to Singapore. Italy has no usual restriction but the postal handling is not so pleasant. Parcel may get lost during shipping/return shipping so it is up to your interest.
Payment (PayPal is prefered) has to be made only when you get notified that the upgrade is done. Board will be then re-shipped.
PM me if you're interested and I'll then provide you the shipping address.
Cheers
I am interested!!
Not sure about price but in London you have to pay aprox. 50 - 80 pounds.
How this would work? shipping?
I´m in and waiting further instructions!
Universal 128MB upgrade in London
Can you tell me somewhere that'll do the upgrade in London? I can't find ANYWHERE! Many thanks
@orb:
you need to send your mainboard, not the whole unit.
the board will be returned after upgrade. in this way it will help to avoid tax.
We will discuss about all other concerns but first I need to know the interest from you guys.
I am interested. Can afford $50, I guess.
Your friend could also do USB port repairs, seems to be the problem that far too many Unis and their owners suffer from.
Question: Can chips be harvested off a defunct Uni/Wizard board? I have some lying around gathering dust in various states of disrepair or repair is simply uneconomical, but I know the RAM BGA chips are fine. Can give chips as part of payment... perhaps...

Consider it is not a commercial service. He will do it because of my request. But in the other way, we need to pay him something or he will not feel the interest. Also there is a cost involved for returned shipping.
P.S: I just checked at eBay, a pair of chips are about 20$ (including shipping).

sorry i forgot to ask is there any possibolity to upgrade the ram to 256 or more higher.i mean can we use 2 128 chip or something like that..cheers..
Very Interested
Not sure the exact amount I would spend currently. Maybe we need to figure out how much it is for return shipping then go from there as far as payment. Most of the users are closer to you I would assume than I. But Im definately interested in this idea. Is there a way to get a flat rate shipping from your end to the rest of us throughout the world? Something similar to what the USPS is offering now with certain boxes that weigh under 70 pounds. Hopefully so but you can count me in. Also would be hoping you and your friend could offer the broken USB port repair.
Also BIG THANKS for the great roms and support you have provided to us Uni lovers We ask you keep up the awesome work.
Upgrade!
I would be willing to pay $75.0-$100.00 US dollars, but not sure how long I could go with out my phone.

this is a bit off topic, as I am aware Tomal was asking for interest. However, as this is a share site, I'll just point you off-topic to this post.
mate what about those empty space beside the ram chip.if that is 4 extra flash disk than any chance to upgrade it i mean are those chips avilable in market like increaseing more f disk in main board like ram ........any suggations.....
For me Hong Kong seems to be the only and thew closest option with $128. So if Tomal's idea fails, I might check with them whether they'll accept the board only and wait for FX to improve.
hi guys
i have a big problem...my nexus doesnt recognise my sim anymore.
i have opened it and i can see that one of the 3 sim connector is broken.
do you know a online shop where i can find a replacement for the sim slot ?
or do you know a workaround ?
thx
Same EXACT issue here.. are these pins really fragile or what??
Also, a quick update. I brought this to a store in NY and they said that on each of the 3 rows, that make contact with the SIM, there are 2 pins that make contact. If both are broken (like in my case), they need to replace the whole SIM port because they can't solder the lower pin as the heat will do damage. If it's only the top (longer copper looking pin), than they may be able to fix it.
I am going to get another opinion this Friday and I'll update here. Otherwise, I am seeing if Samsung UK can send me parts or give me a quote to send the phone in for service, but it might not be worth all the money and may have to sell it.
Let me know how you make out if you have any updates!
Thanks!~
Sim connector/tray part
I have the same problem with my Galaxy Nexus...not too sure if the nexus s uses the same part but I ordered from a site called tanstartrade (.ca) and the connector looks similar to what is on the Galaxy Nexus.

So did they fix it for you? I have a broken pin as well.
I'm curious how you are all breaking pins. I have swapped sim cards lots of times (I was testing three carriers at one point) and I was decently rough in doing so. All my sims were normal size sims. Were those of you with broken pins wedging micro sims or using adapters?

Bingo Though in my case, I broke it trying to get it back OUT. I just stupidly assumed that the phone company would send me the proper-sized sim when I told them which phone I had, so I tried to put it in the only way it looked like it would fit. Then again, I am about as mechanically inclined as a monkey, and tend to break things easily
Yeah go with RussianBear's suggestion and mail it to FL.
Im not affiliated with them and havent tried them but I guess they charge around $50 to fix. Locally you might find a place to fix it as well. GL in getting it fixed .
If its a google play store model, Samsung USA should fix it for you free of charge.

Do you really think they will? I sent a message to Google, who referred me to Samsung for warranty support:
(Forum won't let me post link)
On that site, it says:
If your Device is defective through no fault of your own, you have up to fourteen (14) days from the date the Device is delivered (the "Advanced Replacement Period") to contact Samsung customer care at (855) 392-6398 regarding a replacement Device under the Samsung Advanced Replacement Process.
Since this was obviously my fault, and I'm not going to lie to them and tell them it just showed up this way, I didn't even bother to call and ask.
Just an update... I sent my phone off to the Hassle Free repair place. Apparently, they have one tech (a female) who is the only one that can do these repairs, and they claim she has been sick in bed for over a week now. They've been very responsive to inquiries, so I'm hoping they'll get it fixed eventually.
Will let ya'll know how it ends up.

Yup, she is actually a member on here.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
About 12 days after I sent the phone in, I got a call from Crystal using my phone, saying they had fixed the phone, and apologizing profusely for the delay. After I made the Paypal payment, they sent it off the very next day. Phone arrived 2 days later... SIM card slot looks brand new, and phone works great
So I'd definitely recommend them, but I'd also check in advance if you're in a hurry, and make sure the repair person isn't on vacation or something, since there seems to be only one of her.

yup. they're the best fixed my sim connector in mere days (with shipping included). thanks a ton, once again!
I busted the screen on a month old Korean Note 2, and because it's a Korean version I can't get it fixed in the UK.
Do any of you know roughly how much I might get for it if I sold it?
A 64Gb version of the same model just sold for about £760 on ebay, which i think was bonkers. Mines the 32Gb, do you think I'd get enough to take a chunk out of the price of an N7105? It's in perfect working order apart from the cracked screen.
Thanks ..
If you list it on a free listing day you can get an accurate answer to your question at no cost & you have no obligation to sell it at the bid price .. but its better to add a starting price at the minimum you will accept.
Your saying the LCD isn't broken, just the front glass.

I don't understand how I'd have no obligation to sell .. unless you mean it doesn't meet its reserve price. Does no listing fees mean you dont get charged for putting a reserve price on it?
The LCD / touchscreen / digitiser are working fine, it's just the glass thats broken.
When they are offering free listing weekends on alot of categories they let you put a starting price for free, but setting a reserve will cost you.
Yes regardless of what ebay might say, its always possible the item gets damaged or sold elsewhere before you complete the sale & you can't be forced to sell your item.
Obviously you might get bad feedback though.
I've sent a PM.about the phone

Ah, i understand now .. I'm not sure I'd do that to someone though.
If I'm going to be out a minimum of £150 for insurance excess, I'd like a good chunk of cash so I could put it towards a new N7105. Obviously I want as much as I can get ..
.. if this .. www .ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-Titanium-gray-64GB-internal-memory-Unlocked-Smartphone-2-/221168669824?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item337eae1480 .. is worth £750 new, then even requiring £200 worth of repairs mine might be worth a bit more than I think ..
I wasn't really supporting the act of messing a buyer about, i have 100% pos feedback from being nothing but straightforward with people but i was really just outlining the fact that the only way to find the value is to list it with all the info & let the bids commerce.
Hi there,
today I dropped my phone on the street and the front glass got broken. The phone is still fully working. Touchscreen and everything else works without problems.
A couple of months ago I changed the front glass of a Samsung Galaxy S4 with all the necessary stuff, e.g. loca glue. For the first trial the result was acceptable. No reading the other threads:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3522863
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3592043
most of the posters don't recommend the replacement of the front glass. On ebay I can find both only the frontglass (about 10€) and the full suited display (about 135€). If I take an offer from china, the price would lower to 65€. Another option would be to send the phone to Oneplus and let those guys repair it.
Now the decisions I have to made:
Just buying the front glass: Would be an option, if it is the same difficulty like the Samsung phones. But I've found only one Youtube Tutorial. At 1:45 he puts something on the screen, but not sure if it's clue or just something to clean.
Buying a display from China: for about 65€ would be also ok. This can take up to 6 weeks of shipping. And in some forums I've read the quality should be much lower than the original parts from Oneplus. Does anyone have any experience about this?
Sending to Oneplus ist the last option. But this depends on the price. I opened a ticket and now I'm waiting for their offer.
What would you recommend? Has anybody changed the frontglass and can tell me about the success?

Open the ticket mate. No fuss. You'll get your device going in maximum 2 weeks. I tried replacing the glass myself and failed, I cracked the screen half way through...
Buying from eBay... Idk, but if people say they're not original, why Risk? Then again there's the struggle of doing it yourself.
The cheapest and safest is to send it to ONEPLUS.
Cheers

Hi there,
today I dropped my phone on the street and the front glass got broken. The phone is still fully working. Touchscreen and everything else works without problems.
A couple of months ago I changed the front glass of a Samsung Galaxy S4 with all the necessary stuff, e.g. loca glue. For the first trial the result was acceptable. No reading the other threads:

I have replaced hundreds of screens in devices and for the most part it is cheaper and far easier then anything else.
Im about to replace my USB port myself as soon as my tool kit gets here on Monday.
I would never send a device to the OEM to be fixed. It will cost you twice as much plus the time without a device is just stupid.
I have always trusted these people with all the stuff I need to repair. Never trust some random Youtube video.

You could find a cheaper knock off im sure but I hold a simple believe when it comes to electronics. You get what you pay for. You buy cheap and you get cheap.
The USB port was like 4 bucks with 25 dollars shipping lol.

That's been my general experience as well, with probably the exception of Intel CPUs. Got my 1700X and is better for building than a 7700K or 8700K for almost half the price.

Yeah sometimes you find a good deal. Rare as it maybe.
Got an answer from Oneplus:
Screen: EUR 57.20
Fingerprint Sensor: EUR 12.60
Labor: EUR 18.50
Vat: 23%
Total: EUR 108.61
Not sure, if there are any shippig costs to be added.

57 Euros doesn't sound bad actually especially if it's the regular screen.

What? It may suck to send your device away but why are you saying they charge you twice as much? That's misinformation. I sent mine and it only cost 80£ (labour and shipping included). Where can you buy an original display for 80 quid? Even the Knock offs from eBay cost more than that.

You are not adding in the cost of buying g another disposable device to use for the weeks your device is gone. That's for you. Do you know how much it would cost from the US for a repair?

Great! The price surprised me. When my LG V10 died I sent it in thinking it was going to be a free repair for the bootloop issue.. $400 USD to replace motherboard. **** that lol

That's the issue is being in the states. It will always be a lot more expencive coming from there then from anywhere in Europe.

Yep! Not gonna pay $400 to repair a device that is literally $100 something on Ebay or Swappa, and I am definitely not going to pay $400 for a device that is guaranteed going to bootloop again in only a years time. So I spent $300 and bought a new OP3. Originally got the V10 because as someone coming from IOS, I automatically thought all Android phones could be unlocked and rooted with ease, with some o them sweet custom ROMs. This guy didn't do his research and ended up with using LG's, horrible, horrible (I cannot stress this enough) software. Not to mention the extra thick layer of AT&T bloat behind it. I don't really care about the hardware in a phone, as long as its good enough to have the software run good.

I hear you there. I had a g2 for a while. Then moved to the nexus but the 6 had issues dealing with the cold. So got the 1+3 for a steal from a dev. To be honest. I wanted to hate it because the CEO is an idiot. But other then some crappy BT issues when on a weak wifi connection. (licensing issues I'm sure) and the fact it won't work with my smart watch. I really can't complain about about.
I replaced my Motherboard and Battery by sending it to Oneplus. I do live in the EU so that could be a big difference. But a DHL driver picked it up on Monday. And I got it back the same week on Friday fully repaired without additional costs. A screen replacement here costs about €100 which is not expensive at all.. The problem mainly is that original parts are very rare and mostly fake.

I used DHL for the first time Getting the USB port. Ordered it before Xmas and got it 2 weeks later. I was impressed with DHL as they went out of their way to make sure I got the package.
