How to change PrimoC (VM/CDMA) boot animation & sound - HTC One V

I looked through the existing threads and didn't see this info so I thought I would share what I've found out.
If you're like me, you hate the stock Virgin Mobile boot animation and sounds, so here's how to be rid of them (root required so you can manipulate system files)
The boot animation is in the /system/customize/resource/ folder and it's called "SPCVM_bootanimation.zip". You can download any of the boot animations on this forum from guys like Avilove.Cullen, rename them to "SPCVM_bootanimation.zip" and replace the stock file.
The sound is called "BoltAnimations.mp3" in the same folder as above. You can delete this, rename it or replace it with whatever .mp3 you want (recommend using a very small file - 1 to 5 seconds long). Just name your new file "BoltAnimations.mp3" and put it in that folder and you should be good to go. Personally, I just changed it from .mp3 to .bck so I can keep it there but I prefer a silent boot.
Hope this helps somebody else. It's confusing with all the different models of the One V!

Anyone finding this useful?

Our phone uses a .qmg file. Also for the method you mentioned make sure to not compress the .zip or it won't work, it needs to be "storage only".
Search bootanimation in the Android theme section. How to make bootanimation in google. There is an app to help in the Android app section. It's a set of pngs, data which sets the size and loops. The app creates the zip for you but not the pngs. .... I know there was a thread that explained everthing. If it's not in Android themes search in vibrant theme section since that's the only other place I could have seen it.
Thanks guys... you really helped me out a lot.

[BOOTANIMATION]Playstation Intro HD

Boot animation based a HD version of the PS1 intro. I do have the remastered sound, but I'm currently running CM9 and that doesn't support boot sound yet.
The boot animation is about 8 seconds shorter than the original 15 seconds simply because the phone boots so fast you wouldn't be able to go through the entire animation otherwise.
I also blacked out the "Licensed by Sony Computer Entertainment America" because it would either be cut off using 400x800 resolution or I'd have to drastically change the aspect ratio in order to fit it in.
I'll upload a .gif or a series of .jpg's later.
sorry im a noob here... how to use it?

You have to use Root explorer (or equivalent), and replace the bootanimation.zip in the /System/Media folder.
Just make sure that system is set to r/w.
Or use a PC and using Winrar or winzip replace the file within your original Rom. Zip.
Regards.

OK apologies. I'm running an Aosp Rom.
Samsung Roms have a different Media folder setup. It will be worth asking in your Rom forum.

Could be, depends on how long you make it

Zip it using WinRAR or 7zip, using Store compression method.
Make sure your desc.txt is consistent, eg if you only have one folder then only one entry should be used on desc.txt.
Bootanimation is consisted of images (for me seems that OP is trying to make a boot animation using videos), I mostly use PNG and JPEG/JPG.
A new boot animation doesn't increases the boot time, unless you use a super awesome boot animation that has 50+Mb size. Try to keep it small.
I don't know if this will change something, but I've never used a interlaced PNG file. So, don't save PNG as interlaced.
Remember to set the correct permissions on phone!
I think this should be enough for your bootanimations to work Also, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678540.
Okay here is your answer...Also go check mine- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663859
Making zip(easy way):
1.Download bootanimation creator and previewer- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1234611
2.Install both
3.Take your .png files and copy them into part0 and part1(If u have one)folders
4.Copy both those folders into one new folder
5.Open bootaniamation creator and select your folder
6.change your values fps etc.
7.Set loop for part0 folder to 1
8.Set loop for part1 folder to 10
9.Save bootanimation and copy to system/media
Making flashable zip:
1.Copy your bootanimation.zip (The one u made above rename to bootanimation.zip) to a new folder named media and cut media into a new folder named system
2.Zip it up
3.Download META-INF folder (atached) and extract it - http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?l4opf3nn4w10p0a
4.Go inside the folder and go in META-INF/com/google/android
5.Open Updater-Script with notepad++/Scite(I prefer it) I already made it just edit bootanimation created by ...
5.And add it to your zip
Also when u create a flashable zip permisions will be set as it is in updater-script so this should resolve your problem as it forces the phone to set permisions
Making a preview:
1.Go to gif ninja.com
2.Uploud your .png's in your part folders
3.Create the gif
4.Wait....
5.Right click on image and click properties
6.Copy the link
7.Use it as a image in XDA!
Happy bootanimation making!Hope this helped!if it did not please drop me a pm would love to help!
here my creation : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3-NCstEO255RmNISXZwa1ducFk/view?usp=docslist_api
But it does not work. leave a blank screen. Pls someone test and tell my fault

I took the marvel video from the installation folder of The Hulk game on my pc. Used video to gif converter & resized it to width of 320 & height of 480. Though the resolution fits our screen, the video didn't cover the entire screen. You gave me the ba but it isn't portrait. It is landscape.
