Google Now works for me. I can install apps. I'll run this as my daily for battery observation. Now just need the tab settings and onscreen buttons.
Overall nice work .

While I hope for those who want it can get the on screen buttons...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD make one where there are NO on screen buttons as well... I hate to waste screen space on the onscreen buttons when I have them on my device, as well as MANY applications including Grand Theft Auto 3 and more that doesn't, and probably cant ever have a fullscreen feature that hides them due to how the application functions!
Hey cdesai thanks that you port the jelly bean to our tab but will cyanogenmod 10 be 240dpi or 160dpi?, because Google said that 240 dpi is optimized for 7 inch tablet in android 4.1.1.
Is there more lag then ics?

How many hours do you get on a single charge?
cray.
I have this odd issue where the market keeps on crashing. I've install the latest gapps and it still does it. Any help? (Sort of a noob, so some directing might be necessary).
If it helps, I think other CM based ROM's have experienced the same issue (RoyalGinger) where the market keeps on crashing.
I've done the full wipes in recovery as well as "fix permissions". I'm at a loss. When I use VU and MIUI, I don't have the market crashing problem.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Omg I have same issue. When I get vu or miui its fine but cm7 base roms my market dont open it crashes.

Forgive me for my lack of research, but what is Linaro?
Also, I know CM is essentially a souped up stock ROM, correct? Are there any customization features or anything of that sort built-in as well? I'm asking because of the devoted time it takes to backing up your current ROM, testing the new ROM, rolling back to your previous ROM, etc.. I just want to know what I'm getting into pretty much.

So there's no way to replace Gallery2.apk with the google binary as we did in CM9?
(edit) I'm reading that Camera and Gallery were merged in JB. So if we want to sync photos we must use the stock camera (and I don't even know if it will work with CM10). That's crap :/, all my photos are online and browsing them from G+ is not as nice as from the gallery.
Oh well, the notification widgets are worth it anyway.

I agree with you on this. I use to keep all my pictures on my phone but its so nice for them to upload and set up folders so you can quickly find a picture and share via text, Facebook, etc as needed. Not having pisca sync is a downgrade. I'm using the a different set of gapps so sync will work. Don't get me wrong I love CM 10 and the CM team do it right but the camera/gallery should have all features.

Do you have any problem with the camera if you replace Gallery2 with GoogleGallery? If you don't, can you post a link to the alterative gapps?
(edit) I just tried with a GoogleGallery.apk I found: if you replace Gallery2 with GoogleGallery you lose the camera. If you simply add it, the camera force-closes =/
Any reason for me to flash the second nightly released today, or will the first one suffice? I don't see a changelog for the second one as well.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Unified GApps For Android 4.2.x
General
Based on 20121212 Goo GApps and updated with apps from Manta JDQ39.
For all devices currently supported by CM10.1 (including non-NEON devices).
Key Changes
+Fix keyboard crashing on non-NEON devices*1
+Fix Google Now crashing on non-NEON devices*2
+Restore hot-word detection in Google Now for non-NEON devices*2
+Fix GTalk video chats crashing on non-NEON devices
+Check for low-system space, install in /data/gapps if there isn't enough space*3
+Remove AOSP Calendar.apk if Google Calendar is present*3
+Photosphere support is installed by default, create a file called ".nogooglegallery" on the SD card (legacy recovery) or internal storage (CWM6+ or TWRP2) to override
Important caveats
1: Gesture input is not working on non-NEON devices. The AOSP libjni_latinime.so (which is preserved during installation on non-NEON devices) does not support it.
2: The latest QuickSearchBox (with the Google Now widget) no longer works properly with non-NEON devices. The included QuickSearchBox for non-NEON devices will not update from the Play Store.
3: This means this installer will touch /data. The space check is currently hardcoded to 130MB. The installer will create symlinks to the files as appropriate.

Stingray download is still 10, not 10.1
Been looking forward to 10.1 on XDA. Thank you for the Google+ thread. Been alternating between three Roms - Dreams, Eos and Rouge. All good. The developers rock. Thanks again.

Did you preform a full wipe? Its a must if you're coming from cm10, if so then clear the apps cache and data, that should sort it.

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why don't I have root access after installing OmniROM?
A: OmniROM does not have an official, prebuilt root method yet, so you'll just need to flash SuperSU in recovery and you'll have 100% working root access. SuperSU can be found here: SuperSU
Q: Where is <insert feature here>, like CM/AOKP/PA/etc have??
A: Omni is still very early in development, but moving at an incredibly fast rate. New feature, bug fixes, and device support are added just about daily. Check it out here: OmniROM Gerrit Review for the latest and greatest
Q: How do I start/stop screen recording?
A: Volume UP + Power will start screen recording. Simply drag the notification bar down and click the button to stop.
Q: HALP NFC doesn't work!!
A: We know.
awesome...thanks
First post references sprint gs4, might wanna fix that to avoid confusion. Thanks for posting this.
edit: flashed ok, no probs so far, except that you'll need to convert adaway to a system apk if you use that. That's a 4.4 issue, not specific to this rom.
Also, some things to look forward to in the near future:
Omni File Explorer - OmniROMs native root file manager
native root support (you will no longer need to flash SuperSU in recovery)
OpenDelta - Omni's OTA Updater
NFC fix *properly*
Multi-Window
a big surprise in the next few hours
Anyone get ART working? It just reboots back into dalvik for me.
I've been looking forward to this ROM being available. But I see no mention of the feature that most interests me: split window (multi window).
Is it built in?/ working?
Thanks.

i didn't include multi-window in my builds to this point because I don't want to provide anything less than as close to perfection as we can get. multi-window is not ready for full implementation yet, but it will be merged as soon as it is. xplodwild and others are putting a LOT of time into it, so it'll be flawless when it gets merged.
but as of now, official nightlies are started. I will no longer be posting my manual builds here, but i will still be actively maintaining this thread.
Right on Jake. Nice to see you over here in t mobile. I'm going to be messing around with dual/tri booting a bit more now :screwy:
