Honeycomb Launcher for Nexus 7 - Nexus 7 Themes and Apps

I cant promise that it will work! but it should. Anyways the attachment is in the post. Happy Honeycombing! xD

Anybody try this?

I tried this a while ago on ics and it worked on a tf101. Not sure if it still will in jellybean though.

I tried it.
It sucks.

I'll pass their launchers are extremely buggy and not stable
It works at first then after a few all hell breaks loose
They been like that since it came out....never fixed it
I'll stay with apex for now

Apex with Tablet UI is working out great for me , Tablet UI should have been Nexus default layout.

I'm using Apex and it's working really well for me. I don't see anything options in the settings for a Tablet UI, so I'm a little confused by your comment. Does Apex automatically use a Tablet UI versus a phone UI on the N7 or....?

Nova on JB?

Anyone using Nova on JellyBean? Any thoughts as to if it's better, smoother or just preferred? Allows for more flexibility it seems
I'm using Nova on JB. Some widgets like the new Google sound search widget causes it to crash though.
Tried Nova and Apex. For me, lagging slightly. For the first time EVER I'm using the stock launcher. Lacking in options sadly, but I can live with it. Having natively resizable widgets makes it more bearable.

I have been using Nova with Jelly Bean for the past 3-4 days. On of the major reasons is that folders on stock Android max out at 16 app icons. Such is not the case with Nova.
And no, I haven't faced any performance issues, or incompatibility issues, yet.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Been using nova with no complaints. Just as smooth as stock.

I used Nova for a little while, but ended up going back to the stock JB launcher. Nova has some really nice features and customization, but it did not seem as smooth as the stock IMHO.

Odd, its working just fine for me on the Sprint ROM.
I've had nothing but a great experience with it and have been running JB since Thursday.

I am using Nova with no issues.

Are there any custom launchers based on jelly bean yet?

Reason I ask is that the stock jb launcher is way faster and smoother than apex or nova but I can't use the stock launcher right now because I use 240 DPI and want 7x6 grid. The stutter when opening app drawer is unbearable. I tried different kernels and even different Roms same thing.
Anything available yet or should I just go back to stock density.

Why not? I bought a nexus so I could implement mods like this. I think the stock density is a waste of the huge display.

Dunno about Apex launcher but with Nova reportedly* you'll get smoothness if you go in to the animation speed options and select stock speed.
(* not my tip - I've always stuck with stock speed on Nova is working fine for me on JB)
I am using the paid version of Nova, which was updated yesterday to support JB animations and it is nothing but butter.
I am stock no root.

I still can't quite work out if I find Apex or Nova as smooth as stock, and can thus switch back to them and get customising.
There'a a mod in the themes section. I havent tried it, but it might be worth a look.

That's because stock launcher has nothing in it compared to Apex. I've run 3 JB roms now with apex launcher and Franco kernel. Fast as fast can be. I have to say I am quite disappointed in JB though, I find there is not much to their update.

It really depends on your preferences, I find stock the smoothest but Nova the most customisable.
Are there any launcher similar to go launcher's folder option within the drawer? That's something that I really like and have only found on go launcher.

what about Chameloen?
Personally I don't like Chameleon, you can't add app short cuts on the home screen, widgets are limited and you can't create folders. Granted you can create your own widgets using HTML 5, however this doesn't solve the problem to people who don't know HTML 5. Neither can you use normal widgets as you would on a normal launcher. I suspect there will be more widgets in the future, but for 10usd it isn't worth it.
So Launcher 8 when it come.

Holo is a bit dull but Holo HD is on par with Apex/Nova but is much faster with less scrolling glitches. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.hololauncher.hd
The HD version is made for JellyBean whereas the regular version is for ICS and lower.
I've been using nova prime and I'm pretty happy with it. I'm bummed that go launcher doesn't work well on the nexus 7. Hopefully they'll figure it out.

ADW Launcher is Back

Remember ADW Launcher from Donut/Gingerbread days? It's back!
ADW Free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.adw.launcher
ADWEX: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wsMSwxLDEwMiwib3JnLmFkd2ZyZWFrLmxhdW5jaGVyIl0.
Going to give it a try and see how it does when paired up against Nova & Apex.

Holy s**t, I gave up on ADW ages ago and jumped to Apex... I'm going to have to give it another shot and see how it compares. Thanks for the heads-up.
It's been a long time I haven't used ADW...
It looks good, I've been playing with screens and settings for 20mn... it feels like home, but better.
The best feature Apex desn't have is changing icons size... Just for that, I could forget Apex and stick to ADW (why creating 128x128 icons when Apex resize them to some tiny half sized icons ?!!)
I've encountered some few bugs (I guess) with theming dock.. nothing important though, as I usually get rid of it and go for full screen
Adding widgets pop up is amazing.. think tablet mode.. 2 panels with previews.. that's trully sexy.. <3

Did ADW ever go anywhere? They brought ICS style like months ago..before I got my Nexus I remember trying it out. In fact pretty sure I was running ICS at the time on my Xperia, so it was my first choice since it had the ICS look and Launcher pro didn't.
I don't particularly like it more than Nova, but at least I don't present my own opinion in such an unpleasant manner. *sets tea down

[Q] A launcher that is closer to stock?

Hello all. I've been using nova launcher for a long time and I've been irritated a little because nova is not a complete replica of the stock android launcher (android 4.2). What I mean is, it looks similar but the spacing of the icons are not right (which I am able to adjust through nova settings) and the folder when opened its too close to the edge of my screen. Is there any other launcher that can possibly give me the closest feel to stock launcher apart from the stock launcher itself?
Thanks

Except it's not. The icons are at the top of their "areas" so there's a large gap at the bottom and almost none at the top. Changing the spacing affects both, so they are never even. Widgets seems to work properly. This has always bothered me about nova.
