LG Nitro HD (P930) vs LG True HD (P936
Hey guys...
I live in Europe and have just bought a LG P936 phone. I would like to know if it is compatible with P930 roms since the hardware is practically the same!
According to arcee, the P936 should work with the P930 CM9 with no modifications. Just make sure you don't do something stupid like flash a P930 baseband/firmware (though it might not make a difference).

So I should be able to install the ICS leak firmware in the P936... Correct?
Well, theoretically, but I can't say for sure whether you wouldn't have problems. What I *can* tell you for sure is that if you install it, it will overwrite your baseband/firmware so you better make backups before trying it.
Lol...
Let me stay put then. The phone is fast enough with the stock rom.
I don´t like those custom roms (Cyogen / MIUI / etc) because I had a LG Optimus 2X wich was EXTREMELY slow with the stock rom but at least it was stable.
I´ve tried various roms in the 2X and some wouldn´t receive sms (MIUI), others would freeze a lot (Cyogenmod 7.2) and others were extremely buggy (Team Blood rom).
So, for now, i´ll stick to official roms....

after updating my su640 to v10i,
i cant root it,
but this one works.
Good to know! I ended up just downloading the v10f .kdz when I needed to flash the SU640 rom to my Nitro in order to recover from bricking, but if this will root the latest SU640 rom that's great
Which rom is better - stock AT&T's or latest SU640 (v10i)?
And I wanna try the SU640 rom, will it work with AT&T's baseband?
Holy crap, you know I never tried actually just flashing the Nitro baseband and firmware onto the SU640 rom. I wouldn't recommend it, though, but if you're feeling adventurous, I'd love to hear the results. I think it's going to be possible to start working on AOSP roms pretty soon and maybe even start trying to port CM9.
Can anyone upload the latest SU640 rom (v10i)? I wanna try it on my P930.
Malnilion,
I liked the SU640 (v10f) rom more than AT&T's stock rom, but I haven't wi-fi on SU640, and I think the problem with a korean baseband. So I wanna try a korean rom with an american baseband. If it will work, it will be great.
I think the relevant images you'll want to flash back after you get to the SU640 rom are the baseband (for phone and data) and firmware (for wifi), but I could be wrong about what the firmware image does.

Greetings to all
So I might be getting my hands on an Optimus LTE (model SU640) soon, but since development for it is not as active as AT&T's Nitro HD (P930), I want to know whether the ROMs for those 2 devices are universal.
Now, before some of you call it impossible, I have gone ahead and done some research on both Chinese and English websites:
1) LU6200 has a MSM8660 CPU, so ROMs are strictly not universal; but SU640 and P930 share the same APQ8064 CPU.
2) They even share the same baseband - I've read many examples where SU640 was flashed a P93x baseband and got better signal.
3) I've even seen an example where someone directly flashed a P930 ROM onto SU640, WiFi and rotation are broken at first, but after flashing a kernel from SU640, everything is said to be okay.
4) I heard there's a patch that converts P930 ROMs to SU640 ones.
5) P930 can also flash a SU640 ROM without much issue - I saw someone booted a stock SU640 ROM on a P930.
So can anyone share their ideas/experiences with flashing P930 ROMs onto SU640 (and vice versa)? Thanks in advance.

hi. have you had this figured out? I have lg su640 running stock jellybean v30d. I am a fan of cyanogenmod, upon checking, cm 10.1.3 us the latest available for su640 while p930 is receiving kitkat cm 11. I want kitkat on this phone. thanks.
Guys & gals I just got Lu6200 of ebay. I wanted to know an I flash P930 & SU640 Custom rom directly on to lu6200?
I feel SU640 & Lu6200 are pretty much or really same phones..
I am rooted on stock 4.0.4 with CWM installed
nope,it will not work as p930,su640 and lu6200 use completely different chipset. It will work if someone port it though .
Hmm kkk I will build whole system from scratch when I get my pc upgraded..
I found this for LG6200 but download links are not working:

Hey Guys...
I tried to flash P930 Custom rom based on PAC on my LG6200.....
But it didnt boot & got stuck at Loading Screen after Boot animation.
So i wanted to know is there any guide/way to flash P930 (Nitro-HD) ROM on LG-LU6200..
I searched and find this tutorial Tutorial By @znithy... But confused would it also work for Custom ROMs.....
Thanks in Advance and waiting for your advises.....
I don't think its possible as I remember someone saying in this forum that the chipsets are different.
The tutorial is about flashing the stock P930 rom to Lu6200 & shouldn't apply for custom roms. I wish that weren't the case as us lu6200 users don't have many English roms to try.
There is one Bell P930 rom but it is ICS, search in LG LU6200 section. You cannot use P930 rom directly on your cell, It needs to be modified.
just recently, I bought a Korean Optimus G for a sweet price. now I'm thinking of rooting it and installing a custom rom.
problem is, it's an F180K but was localized by conversion to E975. How do i go about doing this, do I flashback to F180K (if that's possible) or can i continue and flash E975 ROMs on this converted-F180K?
also, I'm currently using an LTE sim but not getting any LTE, could the conversion be the cause? how do I fix it?
thanks in advance for the help! on a side note, which (in your opinion) is the smoothest and fastest rom that doesn't eat up too much space (is that possible) and gives the best battery life. preference of qualities are in that order.
I also own an F180K bought from Korea. What i can tell you is that this model has only LTE 900 and LTE 1800 bands. So even if you can and will convert back its possible not to fix your LTE issue.
Regarding the roms ( this is my opinion only ) i couldn't find any rom to beat the stock. I tried many of them about 5-6 months ago. Now might be different. So my opinion is that Stock rom with root access and greenify beats everything.
oh. so that's why i'm not getting any LTE. My carrier's LTE network runs on 2100. sucks -.-
anyway, know how I can convert back to stock F180K? Can I use E975 ROMs for my F180K or only the ones tailor made for the F180K?
thanks for the reply btw, I was beginning to lose hope. anyway, what version is stock on? I'd like 4.4 KitKat but if it's still on 4.3 then I'll still have to think about it.
I also heard stock F180K has a lot of korean stuff despite changing language to english, this true?

thank you, that's very informative. I'm currently on 4.1.2 although this isn't the korean version, should I go for the original F180K firmware? my software version is e97510d-ESA-XX.
I also read there are some korean stuff on the dialer in the stock firmware of the F180K, how do you get rid of those?
last question, what's in the later versions (4.2/4.3/4.4) that's not in 4.1?

If you want to get rid of Korean-specific features and elements in the interface (like labels on the dialer), the Korean stock ROM is not for you. The E975 ROM that you have right now should be good, but I am not sure if I understand exactly what you mean by "localized"... You can definitely use E975 ROMs on F180 (I do), but it might be a bit messy, depending on your luck. There is a lot of info here on XDA regarding F180 -> E975 conversion and related issues -- read it to understand what you are doing.

The last official stock version is 4.1.2, like I said before. If you want newer versions, you need custom ROMs. Note that there is an expected upgrade to 4.4.x which should come fairly soon, but hey, it's LG, so no solid ETAs. It will come when it comes...

well yeah, last thing since I don't think this has been answered yet, can I flash to other E975 roms from my current setup? (F180K converted to E975) or do I have to use roms made specifically for F180K devices?
