guyzz how to increase fps rate..pls help

Simply use ChainFire3D with texture reduce option ticked, use performance governor with min/max frequency at 832Mhz, also select deadline as I/O scheduler, turn off radio data (mobile network, airplane mode). Thats pretty much sums it up.
By the way, you have to have root access to do most of the things mentioned, except airplane mode of course.
thanks for replying..but i think you are not getting my question
actually i want to play 1280*720 videos on my cell smoothly and that is possible by increasing fps rate i guess.

Smooth hd play is dependent on hw. I don't know what video types your using but it will play fine if you use a codec and container that your phone supports. If you use the proper file type and Codec your phone will use hardware and not software to decode. Hardware decoding is much smoother then software. And much easier on the batt while playing.
Also u can grab mxplayer off the market. In the top right corner of the app while playing a video it will show u if its using hw or sw to decode. U can also switch between the two. But it will help u narrow down friendly codec and containers for u.

^ What he said. The problem now is that our little SGY plays any video (I think) in software mode, that is, and is completely dependent on CPU speed (frequency). Just as said, the GPU inside sits and does nothing to help the CPU to decode video. Thus we are not able to play 720p or 1080p videos. Unless H/W acceleration works properly, it's impossible to play HD videos for now. But really, it doesn't matter, cause you couldn't tell a big difference from 720p to, lets say, 480*640 because of SGY's small screen size and low DPI.
i have tried mx video player...720p videos play but very roughly....my friend has.got a
samsung galaxy fit...in his phone 720p video plays smoothly..he told me that he has increases his fps from 15 to 30.he is not telling me how to do it.

And when using mx player did u look to see what its decoding with. I just looked at your phone specs. There's not a chance in hell it will do it unless u use a supported codec and container

its decoding with s/w..as when i select h/w for 720p files it shows that"is not supported"..tell me the possible solution to it.thanks

I don't think if hardware is made to play HD videos

I've alrdy told u what you can do. Re encode your videos into a format your phone will use. I didn't see a gpu in your specs. So I don't know if your phone will support hardware decoding. Research your phone and try to find a format it likes. Or upgrade and click thanks on everyone's post in here.

Any video format won't play in H/W mode on SGY because of the drivers fault.
Just for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VideoCore
Look at the bottom of the table.
For now we are dependent on sheer CPU power.
thank you guyzz for showing your concern and helping me i appreciate your work..thank you once again

The newer variant of the old ace also had the same Gpu as the galaxy y...and we are getting frame rates lesser than it.I read in some
Website that the gpu has some driver problem and functions only as a binary blob..Hope some one can workout a solution

Hi guys, I have a problem. When I watch a few videos on youtube at some time when I press on another video or touch the back button my phone freezes completly and I have to pull the battery out and reboot and it's annoying. My phone was overclocked to 844 mhz and I tought that was the problem, but no, then I downclocked to 800 mhz and still having the problem, and my ram is not used, it's always at 120-180 used. So the problem is not the overclocking or ram. What could it be? And how to fix this freezing cause it's annoying.
My phone info:
Android 2.3.6 (tweaked in build.prop to show 4.0.4)
Rooted
CWM installed
GioPro v1.5 ROM
PX based kernel

Have you tried to flash another ROM?
Yup, same problem

I think your problem is the lack of ram
Try to do so
turn on the video from YouTube and after check how much memory uses Youtube
Personally, I never met anything like
Are you trying to see the videos in HD or SD, mate?

I don't watch them in HD cause gio doesn't support HD playback, I always watch videos on HQ

And Majkio, before watching the video 173 ram used and while watching 196 so not the ram is the problem.

Hi. I've been using Watchdog for the past few weeks and I notice that the video player goes above threshold a lot even if I don't use it. Anyone else experiencing this?
My thoughts were:
1. Is this an app that is still running in background? Might a good app killer or task killer help?
2. Do you have 3rd party apps installed that have requested permissions to access hardware controls? Some camera apps with such permissions can potentially control your camera usage. Advice...check your app permissions and delete accordingly

Occasionally I've found some of the highest quality videos stutter when playing on the YouTube app.
Example, play on WiFi:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqW5d5QPenk&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I'm only talking of a slight jutter here and there, but not 100% smooth. Perfectionist!
However, I've found that it plays perfectly if you use SetCPU to set the governor as Performance with the CPU at just 640Mhz.
You can create a Profile that triggers the setting when the YouTube app is open, reverting to Ondemand/Interactive when not in use.
Maybe standard info, but I wasn't aware of the feature until tonight so thought I'd share it. Do you think it will hammer the battery?

just tried the video, no stuttering problem here
There is on mine. It could come down to a number of reasons including user perception. If anyone does find that it jitters at all, then my info may help.

My one x used to jitter and stutter heaps on YouTube. Was the most annoying thing I had ever experience especially for a phone this powerful. Then one day I decided to change from ncx's kernel which I was on at the time to faux's kernel, now I don't have any problems at all with any jittering or stuttering.

Hopefully I can do the same in the future. Currently have the stock Jellybean kernel

Is anyone else having problems on non-sense based roms where flash player is just broken?
Audio plays but the video won't update or progress unless you either rotate the phone or change something
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda app-developers app
Same here. I used to use MIUI and most of the times my phone can't load video at all. It doesn't matter if you rotate it or not. The sound played but not video. MROM is not better in that aspect.
I think it must be a kernel issue or something

Because samsung don't want us to play full HD on middle class phone, hardware is fast enough.
Our screen resolution is only 480x800 so we can't play full HD videos
Try to play video with DICE Player without changing standart settings, on my phone it works and i can watch 1080p.

I have check it and Ace 2 is to weak to play full hd.Only 720p can go smooth.I have 10fps in full hd but is one but I like theory:
on 800mhz is 10fps
on 600mhz is 5fps
so on 1000mhz should be 15fps
on 1200mhz should be 20fps
and on 1400mhz should be 25 ))))
If you want to play full hd smooth you must wait for OC kernel and pray to get 1400mhz from NT u8500 (near impossible) Or my theory is not god , heh For what you need 1080p? We have 480/800 screen...720p is smooth on Ace 2 and quality is great...you cant see deffrences bettwen 720p/1080p on that phone...Regards

Why do you think that you need more Mhz in order to play a smooth Full HD?
Let me tell you something about hardware acceleration:
- It's a really old feature to have GPU decoding video, that's why every GPU is capable to decode video up to 1080p, CPU is needed only to get data.
- But there is a problem with Hardware acceleration: It only support a limited amount of codecs, so if you video is not x264/AVC, you won't be able to use HW, and cpu is weak by default on this tasks.
- Other problem is data transfer: Full HD have more than 10MB/s bitrate(up to 30MB/s bluray), a lot of SD cards can't sustain this speed, especially when trying to write something at the same time.
I won't recommend watching videos in software mode, CPU is weak for this tasks and you'll end up with low runtime.
Maybe true, but is right that on our screen size and resoliution is enought 720p.
