In the alpha 2 cm9 there is no option to split SMS messages after 160 characters. It counts down to 160 on the side and shows (1/2) but when you send it, the message stays as one in the out box and fails to send. Has anyone else had this issue or know of a work around/fix?

Try using a 3rd party app such as Gosms Pro or Handcent. They have options for that.

Before you recommend another app for messaging, I use it because I like being able to slide to the right to make calls and I like my Facebook photos showing up. Only problem I have is the forced emoticons with android it gives out. Anyway to turn it off? Thanks

I'm really hate the gallery style mms picture on the stock messaging .. Is there a way to change it so that I have a pinch to zoom option again, other than using a third party messaging app?
I woud appreciate the help..

You hate all 3 styles? You can make it look 3 different ways.

I don't like the gallery style mms when you receive a picture or multiple.. Is there a way to make it where it's not a gallery?

Sorry about that, I read your post incorrectly.

Anybody have any suggestions?

What I have to do is open the pic in mms, and then save the attachment via the menu items. The pic will now show up in your gallery.
Exactly, when I was on ICS on my s2 you didn't have to do all that. You could zoom in on a picture you received thru text and not have some stupid gallery that requires you to save the pic..
I'm trying to get that on my note 2

If you read the op, he even says "other than using third party apps" lol.
I have actually been wondering the same thing, and I've noticed that the stock mms on the at&t note 2 let's you see the picture directly in the message. I'll look into porting over the at&t version to see if it's the same, if not I'm assuming it's carrier specific?

If you could port it over that would be great.. Thanks..

Just came from an SGS III...Jovy23 figured out how to do it on his DarthStalker ROM...maybe he could help?
Is there any ROM that has emoji keyboard at all time vs just the MMS app?

What do you mean all the time??
If you're talking about different apps, then no.
You could always go into your messaging app, type down emojis copy them and paste them where you want to use them.

can the stock sms App set individual ring tones for ppl? I can't figure out how if it can. I've been using handcent, but that shyt makes my phone reboot constantly during the sending process.
I'm running 4.1.2

I'm not running 4.1.2, but it should be in the contact. Open contact, select a contact, select edit then select ringtone! Give it a try.
thanks, but that changes the ring tone for when they call as well. I just want it to for texts.
