CWM Restoring after new rom; restores old rom!

I was trying to install MIUI on my Inc2 (i have CM7 on it currently) and when I installed it, it worked, then I restored, and when it turned on it was running CM7! And when I do advanced restore and restore only data, it'll get stuck in a boot loop. Is there a fix for this?
You can't restore like app data using cwm. You gotta use an app like titanium backup and when you install another ROM, you download it from the market and start restoring apps.

Yea you gotta start off clean when restoring or installing a rom in clockwork. You should wipe data and cache then restore backup. Like said use Titanium to restore app data.

[Q] ClockworkMod backup not restored?

Hi All, this morning I made a clockwork mod backup of my phone running CyanogenMod 7.2 ROM. Then I (successfully) restored a backup from late last year of Virtuous Mod ROM - before restoring, I wiped everything: factory wipe, cache, dalvik-cache.
Later, I wanted to restore the CyanogenMod backup. I wiped everything once more and then restored the backup, but upon starting my phone, I get a "Welcome" screen, as if I had a fresh install of CM. I skipped through all the initial setup and found that none of my apps or information had been restored.
Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone have any suggestions for how to restore my data? Thanks in advance!
When restoring a nandroid backup you don't have to wipe. The backup you make with cwm is the entire system backed up..so no need to wipe.

What to restore with Titanium Backup

I made backup for all user+system apps including data and flashed new ROM. What do you recommend to restore now? Only user apps or system apps + data as well? I'd like to restore as much as possible, but I'm not sure how system data is compatible accross different ROMs.
I don't recommend you to restore system data with an exception of data usage of you use it. However, if you don't want to set up everything again, you should have too much trouble with restoring non-custom Rom related settings

The safe way is to restore only user apps+data. However, you can try this:
1. Restore user apps+data
2. Make a nandroid backup
3. Restore system data
You could restore the nandroid backup if you encountered problems after restoring the system data.

Retrieve obb from Nandroid Backup

Hello there
I recently performed a full Nandroid Backup because I was going to install the latest SkyDragon Sense 7 ROM but instead of just wiping the data and system, I decided to format the device in order to do a fresh, clean install. I forgot, however, that obbs don't get backed up with Titanium Backup and there are a couple of games I play that are heavy in size that I don't want to download again if it is possible to restore those obbs from the Nandroid backup.
Would my only option be to restore the Nandroid Backup itself or is there a way around it?
Thanks!

How to restore apps from a TWRP Nandroid using Titanium backup?

So I couldn't boot into the ROM and made a TWRP backup of my data partition and then reflashed the ROM. Now can I restore apps from TWRP backup using titanium backup? If so, how? Some googling showed that it was possible but I cannot find the option in Titanium backup. Please help.
