Different Keyboards apps for landscape And "normal" mode? - HTC One X

Hey there!
i am just wondering whether it is possible to set up thumb Keyboard for landscape mode and swiftkey 3 for normal mode?
For longer messages i prefer landscape and the split Keyboard of thumb Keyboard .. for shorter sms i love the predictions of swiftkey 3..
Is it possible that the phone starts the different keyboard programs depending on how you hold your HOX in your hands?
Or am I just too stupid and didnt see that there is a split Keyboard for swiftkey?

Keyboard Suggestion

HI All,
Looking for a keyboard suggestion. The current keyboard is ok since the update that added the option to hold the key to bring up punctuations but one thing I miss from my other phone are the cursor arrow keys. Any suggestions for a keyboard that has that?
Thanks,

My favorite is Thumb Keyboard. You change the key sizes and colors, and it has the arrow cursors you're looking for. And great auto-correct.

Swype was the main reason I bought this phone, so I must recommend Swype beta to you, it's bloody amazing. Since my i9100 SGS2 had problems I sold it as is since my friend got me an iPhone 4s for my birthday trying to convert me. It was just a matter of non working phone vs working phone for free kind of gig. But man was typing slow on the 4s. Within 2 weeks of first ever using swype (on my S2) i was typing faster than after 8 months of using a 4s.
BUT I also have Swyftkey 3 and for normal 2 finger typing it's REDICULOUSLY good lol. I can type like a retard and it will still get every word right. I once meant to type "rediculous" but rtdoxpohd came out (I was drunk) and it picked up the right word. You should of seen my drunken face when it happened "0.o wtf really...?"
I highly recommend Dingul keyboard. Its Korean but it can switch to English keyboard using the [한/영] button at the bottom. You can swipe individual keys for punctuation instead of holding it. You can also swipe up on a key for capital letter. Swipe down over the top row of keys for numbers. Its pretty intuitive. Swipe over the [한/영] key to access the arrow keys for cursor along with some faces. Then press the same key again to switch back to the regular keyboard.
Basically you press individual keys like a regular keyboard, but you swipe over various keys to access the less common things that are shown on the key (other keyboards often make u hold the key down instead). Just play around with it. That's what I did, and I'm glad I took the time to figure the basic stuff out.
Honestly, I go back and forth between Swype and Swiftkey all the time so +1 for both!
i use perfect keybord pro..
Thanks for all the suggestions. Trying out Swiftkey now and it seems to be pretty good.

For me, Swype is the best.
One-finger domination! And faster, too.
To me, swift key doesn't even compare to Swype. It's light years behind.

Swiftkey if you use different languages otherwise swipe.
Swiftkey is great, but when I change the dpi I usually end up going with Thumb Keyboard because of the size customization options.
Swiftkey. Destroys anything else on the smartphone market.

I like basic so I just use Hackers Keyboard. Its a basic keyboard that can have all of the keys as a regular desktop keyboard which can come in handy if you remote into your home PC's or use SSH or such. You can also change the size of the keyboard if you have big fingers
I use A I Type keyboard it has the option of arrows in the top number bar,and I like the key layout best.

Is there a way to make the stock landscape keyboard smaller?

I enjoy typing in landscape but find it annoying that the keyboard takes up the whole screen. I would like to see the text message before I hit send bit the only way I can see of doing that in landscape is by closing the keyboard after I type.

If you use a keyboard like swiftkey from the app store, you can adjust the height of both portrait and landscape keyboards

Swiftkey and the Hard keyboard

I recently started using swiftkey after being a swype diehard for almost three years now. It looks great and swiftkey flow is way better than i'd anticipated.
The Problem: on the hard kb, it seems like the shift and caps lock (as well as the alt button) is reversed. I.e. One press for lock, two presses for one character.
Has anyone figured out a workaround? This is super aggravating.
Also, if there's a way to disable the suggestions when the kb is out, or even in landscape altogether, that would be super....

I can confirm that this issue has been resolved with the latest version of SwiftKey.
Best alt keyboard... love it!!

Google Keyboard Tablet mode?

Hi xda. I know there are third party keyboard apps that can do split tablet mode and small keyboard on the side for typing with one hand but I don't really like it. Is there a way to do it with the default keyboard? If not is it possible to use the nexus 10 keyboard? Has someone extracted the apk? Thank you in advance.

Best on screen keyboard?

Love my note. Typing this on our. But I want a keyboard that I can type continously on.
Which keyboard do you prefer and why?

I like SwiftKey.
I used the trial of SwiftKey for a bit and enjoyed it enough to buy it. I like to make the keyboard quite small and undock it and use my finger or the spen to swype my words out. I can get pretty quick sometimes. The stock one wasn't too bad, if I remember correctly, but while using the small, undocked version there was an annoying lag when summoning it after selecting a text field. Another I liked was the Multiling keyboard. I think that's what it was called.
Hands down Swift key. I can type with my eyes closed on this. Tablet version works great.

I own three keyboards, Swiftkey, Thumb and Swype.
On the Note, I use Swiftkey in split mode (landscape). It works good for me. Not perfect, but good.
It's predictions are very good. But in split landscape mode, it only offers two suggestions at any given time even with all the space available. It would be perfect if it allowed a bit more customization and handled incorrect predictions better. The keyboard on the Palm Pre and the HP Touchpad had better correction feature where if you hit backspace, it would revert back to the word you typed and not the prediction. Thumb keyboard also does that, but Swiftkey does not. I don't understand why since it is so logical. Swiftkey has a number of sizing options and I find it to be the best fit on the Note of all the ones I've tried.
Thumb allows for a lot of customization down to customizing the alternate keys on long presses and long press timing. Swiftkey allows for customization fo long press timing, but not the long press alternate keys. With all the space available in split landscape mode, Swiftkey allows you to place a numerical keypad in the center, but stupidly, not cursor keys, even with all the space. It has cursor keys on the number/symbol page, but it could easily fit them on the main page in split landscape mode. Thumb allows many other keys in what would be the otherwise empty space in split mode, including cursor keys. Also, none allow for a dedicated 5th numerical row like the Palm Pre and HP Touchpad layout, although the Thumb keyboard does allow for a 5th row of custom keys where you could make them numbers, I suppose. But I find the predictions on Thumb to be inferior to Swiftkey by a long shot and none of the themes, sizing and layouts really work for me as well as Swiftkey.
The Swype keyboard just doesn't work well in Landscape mode. The keys are too small and there is no provision for resizing them. So that's just out as an option.
You're best off downloading the free versions and toying around to see what you prefer. But I would try Swiftkey and maybe Thumb.
Multiling O keyboard.

I started using SwiftKey in mini mode undocked. It goes under my right thumb and I swype one hand like a phone. Not perfect but it works

SlideIt and SwiftKey.

I have Kii on all my device. I like the fact that it can be configured different for portrait and landscape. Like in landscape I don't like the keyboard the full width, I type with one finger so full width is a stretch. I put a 25% margin on the left & 5% on the right. Can have a number row on top or nav arrows on the bottom. Will also do swipe. The predictions aren't as good as Swiftkey but still okay. Themes, lots of configuration, split for thumb typing, themes. You can try the premium features for hour then they reset.
