To flash the OTA Update on Takju 4.1 you have to use stock kernel, stock ROM, all haves to be stock!
E.g. if Radio baseband is changed then it fails when trying to update it, other bootloader doesn't bother so bootloader can be whatever what version..
If you have flashed custom Kernel then flash stock back and if still can't update then make factory reset!
If you are using JB 4.1 which was flshable via CWM (other than jb-takju.zip from koush) then it can maybe cause to update problem too, also if you have modified build.prop then replace it with the original build.prop..

I tried factory reset but still won't work I also tried manually but get a code 7 error were can I find all stock 4.1.

Try this:
Download jb-takju.zip ROM 4.1 here:
http://download.clockworkmod.com/test/jb-takju.zip
Download the OTA Update from "General" thread...
put them to Galaxy Nexus!
Now make backup of files to PC...
go to fastboot mode!
Flash recovery via fastboot, whatever what recovery recovery which works!
Wipe dalvik cache, wipe cahce, flash jb-takju.zip, wipe factory and data the flash jb-takjuu.zip again and now flash OTA Update, reboot!
it should work, worked for me..

OK thanks will try.

Please Help, Cannot WIPE! (Video)

Hey XDA. I am on 4.0.4 AOKP M5. My problem is that when I was on AOKP M4, i wiped cache, dalvik and factory reset to install M5. When the GNEX booted, nothing was deleted, I didnt have to start over, txts were there, apps and music was there. Shouldn't it have been deleted and started fresh?
What am I doing wrong? Please help, any suggestions are welcome
Here is the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IyVPojN-RA
Video is hard to see, sorry. The first part is just me verifying the .zips for the rom are there.
*I tried to use wugfreshs toolkit to unroot and lock the bootloader so I could essentially start over but im on 4.0.4 and the factory img is a 4.0.2 so It came up with errors
* edit, thanks for msedek I am now unrooted with a locked boot loader. Will root later on!
Any help is appreciated

OK I wiped the phone 5 times and flashed aokp m5 I thought it try to boot without gapps this time.. when I booted up, nothing deleted and gapps still there even though I didn't flash them..

Have you tried wiping via Fastboot?
Fastboot erase data
Fastboot erase cache
Ok so download and flash a stock google image and leave your phone as new again, then do all the root /install cwm again and then try to install aokp, i suggest you to use the toolkit from development section.. Thats what i use and works flawlessly

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310 this toolkit and no, flashing the stock image dont need a wipe, just install the toolkit and follow the easy steps there for everything
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Which options do I use to do this? Please help
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
0-put your phone in fastboot and plug to pc and open toolkit
1- Select your phone version
Meaning android gsm or cdma and its 4.0.1 4.0.2 4.0.3 4.0.4. It does not matter if it custom rom just matter if cdma or gsm and what version of android
2-install drivers if you dont have or if the toolkit does not recognice your phone in the list of attached files
3-once done with recognition use option 8 (donwload/extract/flash google factory inage)
4-Select 1 then if you are gsm go for 5 IMM76I for others get the lastest
5-after that go to the directory you installed the toolkit default is c:\Galaxy Nexus toolkit, open that folder and inside theres another folder called put_google_factory_image_here so the google file you just downloaded put it there, close that Windows and then back to toolkit use option 2 flash google factory image (dont not unzip the downloaded file)
Thats pretty much it
Then after you are done open again toolkit and use option 7 one CLICK FOR ALL in fastboot mode
When asked choose cwm touch since its the lastests versión and working kool wiht aokp m5

Hey man, thanks for all your help, I followed the innstructions and I am now posting this on stock 4.0.4 IMM76I the process went great. I locked the bootloader also. Now to root, from,kernel.. I think I might try android rev. That's for all your help man its really appreciated!

i factory reset and wipe cache and dalvik but still no go.

That's an older version. You need the newest one, which is 5.8.4.7. Download the img file from the website and flash through android emulator.
Downloads: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
How to install through Android Emulator on the device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
scroll down to the "Third, alternate if unfamiliar with adb commands" option and follow directions.
Beware that once you install this version of CWM, your previous nandroid backups will not work, as they will get md5 mismatch. If you want to go back to the older version of CWM, simply use the method you used when you first flashed CWM (via Odin). I experienced the same thing, so I had to do some research before I flashed CM10. Hope that helped!

[Q] Phone stuck on Samsung boot after stock restore help?

Hey my samsung galaxy s3 was bricked when I tried installing a kernal for a jb rom and I restored it to stock in odin.
Right now its just stuck on the Samsung Boot logo and the blue led is shown but it wont boot up. What do i do?
Reflash. By chance, can you get into recovery?

Not lh1 here:
Flash this in odin: http://d-h.st/u2B <<< AT&T lg1
Thats the image i used to get back to stock with root. After that flashes the system will boot and say there is an update if you want the latest os then install rootkeeper from play store and run it that will preserve root. Once you run rootkeeper accept the update and that will get you to lh9 the latest os.

No, not yet i cant really get into clockwork recovery at all if you read my post above. I got into this whole mess by flashing a kernal on a jb rom whe i was rooted and i probably shouldnt have because it bricked my phone. But ive done almost everthing above and now im willing to do anything to get my phone back up and running. Will flashing the kernal for it fix it?
Yes, if you can find a way to enter download mode flash a stock rooted kernel and a stock ROM. You may need a jig to enter download mode

The lg1 update i gave you has the boot.img (kernel) with it. It is everything, boot.img, system, modem, etc. Sounds bad but are you sure you are using odin correctly ?

Hope this helps. I had a similar issue once where the phone gets stuck at the Samsung logo. What I did was booted into stock recovery and did a wipe cache and wipe data. The phone booted up successfully after that.
U can also flash CMW through ODIN and do all the wipes (dalvik, cache and data) and I'm pretty sure ur phone will boot up.

If you are trying to install an OTA stock update with CWM it wont work. You will need the stock recovery in place for the OTA stock update to work properly. At least, that is what was needed in my case. If you want to keep CWM then you can flash a developer's stock zip for your respective nexus.
OK. Thnx but what was that little update ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Since you're on 4.2, it was probably 4.2.1.
And a changelog ? Or what is changed ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
It's a fix for the "December issue" (apparently December isn't accessible in the People app in 4.2). Some people have claimed some performance increases, but that might be placebo. I went from 4.1.2 to 4.2.1, so I can't comment on 4.2 vs 4.2.1.
I tried to install the update with stock recovery .. I was in custom rom which is rooted .. the install failled and make the device won't boot the system! Any idea?

Something strange with my gnex...

Sorry for my english, I`m quite bad... I was wondering if someone could help me with my gnex, Some months ago i bought one, it was rooted and with the bootloader unlocked. Í´ve changed the ROM so many times and then i decided to go back to stock. The problem that I have is that my phone is only working with 4.0.4, I´ve tried everything... odin, the tollkit, re-locking the bootloader and trying to update by OTA, nothing works. When I try to update it to 4.1 or another version it keeps on bootloop. I´ve tried changin the baseband, kernel, recovery, tried all official ROMS whit toolkit... Only 4.0.4, cm9 it works but when i try to uptade it goes on bootloop again...
I don´t know what to do. I`m sorry if I`m posting in the wrong section...

My maguro/gnex happen like this as well.
What i do, copy any custom rom(4.4 latest) into sd/data when in ics rom.
Then i flash cwm recovery using adb in fastboot
Then i boot into cwm then flash that custom rom zip file.
And it works.
Or you can find stock jdq39/4.3 in zip and flash that.
