Clearing Music database. - HTC One X

Hi,
I tried to sync my Music using doubleTwist app. Now Music is showing albums multiple times. I am trying to figure out how I can delete existing music database of Music app. Kindly let me know how to do this.

Just delete the files/songs from your sd card.. if there are playlists, just delte then manually..

I do want the songs. Problem is that if an album has multiple songs each one is shown as a separate album. So I was thinking that the music database might have gotten corrupted.

Check the tagging is the same on each file for album. There us a good mp3 tagging app in the market that will do multiple files and is free.

For these multiple albums shown artists are different. My guess is Album Name + Artist is taken into account on Album list.

Go to settings/apps and Clear data in media storage app, then restart, this will solve the matter, but you will loose your playlists while the file's themselves are remained.
However, If you come across to a new problem after that, namely no any songs found by music app, then as a workaround you must create a brand new folder in your sd and move all your music/media stuff in it, this will do the trick, you can move them back to the original folder back once the issue gets solved as well (i had same issue before hope this helps..

It helped a bit. But I am still seeing multiple albums in Album view for certain albums. I am not getting the logic in which Albmum view is displayed.

I am not sure if it's related to clearing media storage files, my notification sounds are screwed. It's not the ones I had earlier.
Can someone post screen shots of setting ->personalize -> sounds? so that I can restore to my previous settings.

[solved] Hide photos in stock gallery?

Is there a way to hide folders or photos in the stock gallery?
Album art and other things show that I would rather hide.
Deebo took your bike too?
I don't think so. Only way I can think of is move them to SD card and unmount SD whenever you have the need to hide them.
Hercules Hercules!!
Check out Gallery Lock from the market. .99 cents and the app hides any pictures from the gallery you want hidden, also has stealth launcher, so the app that says gallery lock is also hidden. To open it, you dial a 4 digit code in the dialer, and it opens. I reply like the app!

You can also add a blank file named ".nomedia" to the folder with the files you want to exclude from the gallery. It's recursive and all sub folders from that point will be excluded.
I had to do this with podcasts that were showing up in my gallery.

Right Android ignores all files and folders with labels beginning with a period.
.backup
.porn
.bachelor_party
will not show up in gallery.

yup, this is the best solution .nomedia works across all android devices, it will make the graphic apps ignore the folders with the empty .nomedia file
Photo vault does the trick

Thanks for everyone's input and ways of doing this. I wasn't able to hide the album art, but the rest is now hidden.
Thanks again. xoxoxo

hide it pro is legit you can hide pics videos apps conversations etc and it it disguised as a program called audio manager
The .nomedia file has to be the first file in a folder in order to ignore media there. If files are already indexed, just rename such folders forth and back (opening the Gallery in the middle) and there you go.
You can use the Nomedia application for creating easily the .nomedia
Quickpic is a good app, hides full folders with password and it won't show unless you put the password. You can use your regular gallery app and have quick pic just hide the folders desired and they won't show on your regular gallery app

I think he just wants to hide them, not password protect them.
Put a . In the folder name
I.e.
.pix = hiden
Pic = shown
You can then see them in a filemanager app

This doesn't work when the folder name has to be preserved, you can't just add a dot to the name. Even if this did work, there are some applications that won't read files or folders marked as hidden, even if that is the predefined folder for their data.
So, there are two quite different solutions: one is adding a .nomedia to the folder and other renaming the folder or file itself with a dot in the front. Just choose what you need most.

I've deleted them with no noticeable effects. I'd like to know what keeps generating them.
Opened up one of those files with a text editor an it seams to be generated by the email app (not sure its gmail or the email one) but they do tend to make going through your internal storage a pain when you scroll through 30 of them >.<
thanks, my internal storage is full of those files (70 aprox.), it may be because i use mail app almost every day
I apparently just deleted 570...
The file is generated by the stock E-mail app and if you remove the plain email and exchange app and download a different one it will rectify the problem

Talk to me like I'm 5 about the photo gallery app.

I'm having a problem with regards to the photo gallery displaying way too many photos and only want to display photos I have stored on the phone and the Instant Upload folder that google plus generates. What do I have to do to make this happen?
I've gone into picasa web galleries and deleted a ton of old ones which aren't relevant anymore, but no matter what I try my gallery app is a mess of photos from posts on google plus with no recognizable folder structure or organization at all.
Should I just give up and use gallery only for local photos and then the google plus app for viewing the instant upload folder?
Is there a third party app that will do what I want?
I really can't help you with the stock gallery app as it blows IMO.
QuickPic from the market will let you display or hide anything you wish.
I love quickpic but it's local files only isn't it?

Media problems

I just got my note 2, the internal version, but i think i am in trouble now. android.process. media has spotted unexpectedly. You know, when a picture is taken, it will be saved automatically. But after i shot, i opened album, i was surprised to find it actually lost. I reopened the album, and all items were gone. How terrible!!! Then i reboot the system, all items are back except the latest photo. Thanks in advance.

I've edited some pictures and the edited one's were in the same folder where the original was.
The beam one's were in beam folder and so on.
When I've edited the pictures from another folder the message popped up "picture was not saved in the gallery".
