Suddenly my mt3gs starts to vibrate and reboot - myTouch 3G Slide Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This problem it's becoming more and more frequent - it was once a month, then once a week - now almost daily
The mt3gs starts to vibrate very fast for 5 seconds, black screen with no interaction possibility, and then reboots.
Ever happened to anyone?
I'm running CM 7.2

Cant say Ive had the exact same issue, but have had similar. Could be a number of things. Some ROMs have problems with phones rebooting when WiFi is turned on. Not sure about CM7 though. I would recommend making a nandroid backup, and reflash your ROM. If it stops happening, it is likely an app or something corrupted causing it. If it continues, go back to a stock ROM and see how it acts. If it stops now, then it was probably something wrong with the ROM. If it continues, it may be a hardware problem that cant really be fixed. (try a different SD card too.)

Yes, sometimes when i turn on wifi, the phone reboots, but it is a different behaviour - the "wifi reboot" it's a system crash, so the screen suddenly turns in the mt3gs boot logo.
When this happen, it is starts to vibrate a lot (for example, it happened at 4am, it woke me up, even if it was far from my ear), then "dies" for a few seconds (doesn't respond to any button press), and then reboots
very strange...

[Q] reboots randomly when screen is off

Ok maybe you guys can help. I'm having the strangest problem.
I'm running cyanogenmod nightly 151 and last night I was using the torch widget on bright for a little while and the battery died. Charged it back up and when I unplugged it in the morning it rebooted to white htc logo screen. Booted up normally and as soon as screen times out it reboots again. It did this a number of times so I Did a complete wipe and installed an older nightly, same issue. Full wipe and installed a stable rom, same thing. Then I noticed when I leave it on the charger I don't have the rebooting problem, only on battery power, so I replaced the battery. Same issue. Then I noticed that if I constantly use the phone it doesn't reboot. Only when the screen times out. Set the time out to 30 mins and left it idle. 30 mins later it rebooted. Turned off the "screen off animation" thinking that was the problem, no luck. Flashed back to stock official tmobile rom, same issue! Tmobile is sending me out a new phone and battery but just for curiosity sake and so it doesn't happen again, any ideas on what it could be? Definately gonna avoid that torch widget in the future! Thumbs up to tmobile customer service for their no haggle "overnight me a phone for 5 bux" customer service!
To sum it up, when phone is on charger no problems. When phone is running on battery, anytime the screen goes out, either by hitting power button or by it timing out, it instantly reboots to htc logo.

Flash a fresh version..or a stable one.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA Premium App
Yea I flashed 5 different ones, first I flashed back to the previous release that included a different kernel, then the stable rc1, then the stable before that, then I flashed the stock rom with root. There's nothing on my phone now except stock software and root. As soon as I hit the button to turn the screen off it reboots. The real question is what exactly happens when the screen goes off that the phone isn't liking? Its speedy and everythng works great for as long as the screen remains on. Its gotta be a hardware issue if I've tried so many different roms right? Or is there some core piece of software that nightly 151 changed that none of the other roms I'm flashing are changing?
Update: if I have music or navigation on and I turn the screen off the phone doesn't reboot until the song ends or route ends! Lol wth is up with this? It only reboots on idle? Maybe processor drops too low?
Update. Phone stopped rebooting every time the "screen goes off / all processes stopped" and now only does it very randomly, almost hardly ever. Its like its repairing itself lol. Htc cyborg! New phone should be here tomorrow. I was really hoping to figure this out though. Oh well

Sprint SGS3 Freezes,Crashes,Reboots, deletes contacts?

Hey, I'm having serious issues with my GS3 lately, I got it a few months ago from Sprint's suckish replacement plan.
The problems started a few weeks after I got the device, so I can't send it back or else they'll charge me, I've tried flashing different ROMs and restoring to stock several times and nothing seems to work.
The problems are: The phone randomly shuts down(crashes?) and I have to hold the power button to get it to turn off and I just guess after a few seconds, let go and hold the power button down again to turn it back on, the lock screen freezes, I have to turn the screen on and off a few times before it responds, the phone randomly reboots, it just turns off and back on without any type of animation, it just simply does it, the phone also, in some reboots it optimizes apps as if I had just updated and sometimes it deletes my contacts and text messages.
I have no idea what's going on, I've been trying to bear this problem but I just can't take it anymore! >3<.
I've tried the "Ultimate freeze/crash" thread to no avail.
....
I just tried flashing the new MOAR Rom and it still keeps doing it, my phone runs fine for a few hours before one of the things listed above happens.
Bump...somone please help ;-;

[Q] Phone stuck in screensaver mode

Hi!
I brought my Xperia Play phone USED two years ago and I've never had any problems with it.
However, recently, the phone has started to freeze itself in "screensaver" mode (Where the screen goes black after 15 seconds and locks the phone), but the screen won't light up no matter which button I press. I've had to restart the phone every time this happens.
It's been behaving strange at start up as well, as it sometimes take 20 minutes just for it to turn on, while on other occasions, it won't turn on at all!
Is this problem caused by the battery, or is it the hardware?
Is it with stock firmware?

Yes.
I've never modded it or installed custom firmware/apps.
Have you tried factory resetting it?

Yes, but it didn't fix it. The problem still occurs.
tldr: Black screen, no display, everything works "under" (I can answer the phone etc). Not a flex cable problem because occurs randomly, regardless of the slider being open or closed. The problem also occurs during boot up, so rather not a software problem.
I think I have something similiar. Everything was fine until a few days ago the screen didn't want to unlock..or at least I thought it was that.
Basically the phone sometimes works OK but sometimes if I turn off (lock) the screen, it won't go back. To be precise, the phone works and if someone calls me I can pick it up moving the finger where the slider should be, it's just the display doesn't turn on. Same goes for booting, bootloader logo etc, so IMO it's not a software problem.
Strange thing is that it just randomly pops back, sometimes when I move the gamepad slider, sometimes when I put in a jack cable or if I hard reset the phone (remove battery). I've had problems with the flex cable in the past and this time I know that it's not it (no difference if I open/close the slider).
My guess would be some power supply or LCD driver IC issues, because the screen stops working almost everytime if I put the phone into the dock. Moreover, if the screen doesn't work, the orange charging LED is not working (green and blue are OK). The moment the screen starts working, the orange charging LED starts working too.
it's very strange but I'm used to electronics doing strange stuff. Just wondering if I should give a try disassembling the phone and trying to fix it or just buy a new one or something?
I might add that I have bought a new battery ~3 months ago, but it's been working fine to this point. I have tried if the same problem occurs with the old/original battery and it's the same.
well, any ideas?
edit: This video shows something very similiar (except the backlight): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4p0-kv1cxA
Same problem. And I guess this guy has it too.

D850 Screen unresponsive randomly HELP!....please?

Hello everyone, I just recently got a G3 and it was working fine for the 1st 2 days, no issues. I was sending a text to a friend earlier today and after it sent, it completely froze. After doing a soft reset it took forever to boot up. Once it booted up, it seemed to be fine. about an hour of operation, the screen looked as if it was freezing because it wasn't recognizing any of my touches. i decide to flip the phone sideways to see if it was actually frozen but it changed to landscape just fine. Sometimes it comes back to life then goes off again shortly after, and other times, i have to soft reset. I've tried the following to no avail.
Took the phone apart and cleaned both connectors.
Re-flashing the rom.
Trying 4 other roms.
Returned to lollipop stock.
I can't figure this out for the life to me and worked my ass of to be able to buy this phone. Any help would be appreciated as I can't afford to spend any more money on it!
I also have this issue, it's been ongoing for a few weeks. There will be short periods where it can work just fine, then it just freezes up and does not register any inputs. The content on the screen continues to run as if nothing happened (videos and games keep playing). Turning the screen off, waiting a couple minutes, then turning it on can sometimes give me another minute of use until it freezes up again. Also of note, when the screen is unresponsive and I press the power, it will dim to very low levels for a few seconds before going fully black. When the screen is being responsive and I press the power, it goes straight to black, as is normal and expected. From my testing, I've concluded:
1. This issue is not app dependent. It can occur at any time, and is not caused by alarms or overlays, such as blue light filters.
2. The issue is not from the specific battery I use. I've switched out between multiple batteries and used different chargers, none seem to affect the frequency of freezes.
3. Temperature may have something to do with this. When waking the phone after it's been sitting out in the cold, there seems to be a higher likelihood that it will be unresponsive. This is not always the case, which makes concluding that the issue is hardware related difficult, but some correlation seems to exist.
4. This issue started occurring shortly before I began having the popular "SIM Card Removed" issue, which I've yet to resolve (though can sometimes get the SIM card to work)
I am running stock 6.0 D85030p AT&T. I will post here again if I figure something out, but I have been trying for weeks without much success.

Lg G3 brickeD?

Weird thing happened to my lg suddenly
1) Touchscreen totaly unresposnive
2) Pressing power button brings up the power options with a huge delay (about 5 seconds), cant choose any of the power options because touchscreen doesn't respond to touch.
3) Hard restarting the phone with battery out, reboot takes forever (around 7 minutes) end up on the login screen with error codes "service is disabled" and "process system isn't responding", cant choose to terminate the option because touchscreen still is not responsive.
4) Did a forced factory reset. The reset menu seemed fluid and the reset itself seemed fluid enough, but when i got the setup the phone screen (get started screen) i was hit again with the "process system isn't responding" error. Also the huge lag of the OS and power button delay came back. Touchscreen also didn't work
Tried to take out sim and sd card, same result.
Funny thing: screen flipping is totaly fluid and flips on the fly.
update: The touchscreen suddenly started responding, but after about 4 seconds it became unresponsive again. Seems to be a hardware related problem.
After some extensive search i finally found a forum where similar symptoms exist:Google: "screen_becomes_unresponsive_after_5_10_seconds_of"
Gonna open her up and try the foil trick when i have time.
I can't really say but my original G3, from 2014, started behaving similarly last August. Screen was fine but I believe the emmc was failing. I remember going through batteries while trying to get the phone to boot fully. It would get so far and then restart itself. Before it got that serious there were errors, unresponsiveness, and lag.
Did full wipes, reformats, flashed different ROMs, to no avail. With older ROMs (Lollipop f.i.) the phone would constantly power off during boot. Always had to pull and reinsert battery. With newer ROMs it was better in that I got reboots instead. After awhile the phone would shut off or reboot even in TWRP.
Eventually I administered last rites. It had a good run.
LG G3 D851, AOSP-CAF 6.0.1, NanoDroid, MultiROM, XDA Legacy
Yeah i guess so, i assume the problems mostly came because of the overheating issues over the years, just like gpu has, constant temp changes on demand. I wonder would a oven trick to the logic board do something useful?
I baked my old gtx 780 and it has been running like a champ for almost 5 months now (Y)
Anyway i noticed that if i put my G3 in the freezer for about 10mins, the phone is alot longer responsive then just mere 5 seconds. Maximum i got was about 3 minutes lol. Guess i gotta carry a mini freezer with me from now on...
Update: After doing a 10minute bake @ 185C to the motherboard, the phone has been working fine. Will let you know if this problem comes back. If not then the bake did the trick.
